Celtic Tree Oracle Draw
(by Sharlyn Hidalgo)
I shuffled the Celtic Tree Oracle deck 3 times & drew:
7. Duir Oak
The Duir Oak initiates in the seventh lunation & includes the celebration of Beltane. The sacred marriage is enacted, now, between the community’s representation of the Great Goddess & Cernunnos which ensures fertility for another season. This is the holiday of sexuality & sensuality & represents a threshold which the maiden aspect of the Goddess crosses into the Mother aspect. We celebrate the blood mysteries & the young wome’s first menarche. We celebrate fertility & the magic of the green earth that sustains us. This is a time of conception & the beginning of new life with the returning of the sun. This tree offers strength, stamina, & is a symbol for a generation. The ogham for this tree is Duir & the letter is “D”.
Upright: Oak, in a reading, gifts you with strength & endurance, stamina & grounded stability.
This tree offers you practicality, common sense, & an ability to bring things to completion. There is a desire to make things beautiful & to create. You may choose to work in the garden, now, as this is the card for a green thumb. It signifies a time to notice nature & spend some time out of doors. It is time to take a hike or go to the park. Take in the beauty of the green earth.
Oak also is an indication of fertility, whether you are conceiving a child, project, business, or other creative endeavors. Oak celebrates sensuality & sexuality & the sacred act of creation & progeny.
This tree also promises you knowledge, information, guidance, & wisdom. Expect synchronicities. Situations, people, dreams, & books may appear for your benefit & growth. The door is opening up for you, & thresholds are meant to be crossed. This is a time to feel strong & secure as you build toward the manifestation of your dreams.
