Fun Friday (Part 2)

 I think I’ve heard this chatter! If one of my cats is wandering about the yard, they will sit on a wire above them and give them the business until they disappear.

This may explain your current camaraderie with AI! :light_bulb:

 You gotta give it to them for the confidence! That’s the funniest thing I’ve read all day.

I think this makes perfect sense!

Agreed- I love this!

Awww… :face_holding_back_tears: Too sweet!

Skunks are interesting pets, though. If raised from kits, even if not descented, they get along with humans - just don’t startle one that has scent glands. They like to cuddle. They also like to go out at night and dig, tear things up, steal food, etc. Their diet is amazingly complex and hard to put together for normal humans. Long ago, we had friends who kept them. They were pretty cool.

  • If animals could talk, which would likely be the rudest? How come?

The Canada goose. Now, they make me glow with joy when I hear them honking to each when they fly in formation overhead. Awe-inspiring!

BUT! When you drive by them, and they’re grouped together in, say, a parking lot or deciding to cross the street, they couldn’t care less about the havoc they cause. Backed up traffic, honking horns, they don’t respond to such efforts. They’ll look you straight in the eye, then turn away and continue their stroll. If they had fingers they’d flip one your way, shaking their tail feathers and dropping poop as an added taunt.

I call this behavior the arrogance of the goose. Naturally, I’m smitten. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

  • Do you have a lucky number, or a number that you’re drawn to?

I do! I realized at the age of 11 that somehow, this was my number. Never had reason to doubt it or question it.

  • What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?

If it’s warm outside, I’ll be out in my garden messing around. Chilly or rainy weather will find me either playing in my art room or having a lovely extended yoga session. Either way, I’ll eventually end up curled up with a book.

  • How do you take your tea or coffee?

My favorite tea is chamomile, and I only add some honey to it. Coffee must be non-flavored (like chicory-free), strong, with a bit of sugar and a nice amount of cream.

I always seem to have to pop hot drinks in the microwave before being able to finish! I like to keep them as hot as possible.

  • What’s one thing that can instantly make your day better?

That first hot cuppa in the morning! :sunrise_over_mountains:

Cobra Chickens!

Definitely dorks. I used to ride trails on my bike. A flock of them would cause me to come to a stop while they hissed and told me off. They would often charge the bike… I could never figure that out. They would lose any battle with the bike but they didn’t hesitate trying to scare it.

You may have came too close to a nest or they just decided that bike was no good.

Such typical behavior. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Well…me and the character that hangs out in my backyard got off on the wrong foot! He or she decided a few weeks ago to hibernate under my house and almost take us all out when he or she farted up the old floor heater that doesn’t work and stunk up the house!

My landlord had to come and put new doors on the outside entries of the house. I had to cover the vent here in the house with plastic and towels until I could get the stink out. Wasn’t fun! They may be cute, but I’ll keep my respectful distance from now on lol!

We are soul sisters lol! I do the same thing every day! My sister teases me about it constantly lol! I have to have my coffee hot! I’ll nuke it probably 6 times before noon lol!

Honey badgers - because they don’t care!

  • Do you have a lucky number, or a number that you’re drawn to?

Haven’t thought about it lately, but when I was younger I always would say seven was my lucky number. I have no idea why.

  • What’s your favorite way to spend a day off?

I’m retired! Every day is a day off! I just like not having to get up at oh-dark thirty and drag into downtown in the Houston traffic. But seriously, I love to be outside when the Houston temperatures are kind. Sitting on my patio, which is shaded, and watching butterflies and birds in the garden is very relaxing. And if the temps aren’t kind, I’m indoors doing something creative.

  • How do you take your tea or coffee?

I’m a Brit, so my tea has to have milk and sugar (or sweetener). Usually English Breakfast tea, although more recently I’ve been exploring some tea blends from The Tea Spot and have found a couple of favorites there.

  • What’s one thing that can instantly make your day better?

I always feel more accomplished if I have managed to get a few miles toward my Conqueror Challenge on the exercise bike. But nothing tops that first sip of hot Morning Mojo tea.

I feel like this is maybe a common answer, but I think a cat. Lol, they are not your pet, they are a roommate that you happily adopt. It lives its life and you live yours. Except they are basically squatters.

I actuallly have a family lucky number; 28. The men in my immediate family all 28 in their birthday. 12/8, 2/28, and 3/28. 1 28, 2 28, 3 28. From youngest to oldest.

Sleeping in, binge watching a show that I have been ignoring, and just ordering UberEats so ai don’t have to leave my house.

Coffee-2 parts milk, 1 part coffee, and 3 packets of sugar. Tea-most of the time just sugar, but if I want to get a bit more from it, milk and sugar.

Free food or a compliment. If both, then it is an amazing day!

I imagine a donkey with a New York accent and attitude, standing up (or sitting down) for the self in a world expecting unquestioned servitude. After all a bull is only defending his family, a snake is defending boundaries, and a mosquito is only trying to feed its family.

I’ve noticed several posts where lots of us like #13. Count me in that number.

Last summer, I truly enjoyed a drive in the country or a picnic on the mountain. Winter seems different. I’ll take a cozy day in, wrapped in blankets with a movie, or a warm auto to go see the holiday lights.

Sumac tea: Sugar, please. Coffee and most other teas: a plant to pour it into when no one’s looking. :winking_face_with_tongue: Tea makes my stomach bleed, but some countries cannot accept my disability or consider it an insult. I’d rather hide.

A compliment that makes me feel needed or acceptable.

Not gonna lie: I was surprised to find payday changes my outlook.

But yours didn’t walk away, if they were living under the house.

Hmm. Cat’s I don’t think would say much, but could be bitchy if they wanted to be. Dogs would be mostly friendly, unless their owners force stupid costumes and hats on them. Maybe birds. I mean, what with air pollution, putting bullrings in their flight path and now all the drones. I bet birds would cuss us out given the chance.

I’m drawn to 7 and then multiples of 9; I have no clue why either. I’m too old to be Voldemore in a really good disguise, but you never know!

Sleeping and resting. Reading. The same thing I do every day. LOL!

Lots of sugar in both. French Vanilla creamer in my coffee. I don’t drink coffee that much. I mostly had coffee-flavored creamer. LOL!

Seeing a new chapter in a story, or a new book!

Not to mention the overall increase in light pollution, affecting not only migration but making basic roosting more challenging. You make a fair point!

I used to do the same thing- just with regular cream! I love rich, creamy coffee :face_savoring_food: but I’ve forced myself to cut back. So yummy!

Happy post-Christmas/holiday/Boxing Day, fabulous witches!

This is our last Fun Friday installment for 2025 - so let’s go wild! Well…within reason.

Here are today’s questions:

  1. Do you prefer the hustle and bustle running up to the holidays, or the time afterwards to decompress?

  2. Do you do New Year’s Resolutions? What might they be, if you do?

  3. Would you rather be able to talk to animals, or be able to speak every human language?

  4. What’s your favorite kind of music?

  5. How did everything go in your magickal world in 2025?

I’ll be back later with my answers - have fun! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I kind of like both as it’s a good flow, like the moon. But I also try to not hustle & bustle too much as I consider winter a time of rest. I get things done but try to do it within reason and not overly stress myself!

I don’t any more. I just work on things each day, and adjust as I go. My biggest thing is watching my attitude and gratefulness for what I have in my life. Also being more mindful of caring gently for my body.

Being able to talk to ANYONE would be neat. But seeing that I don’t travel, talking to animals would be interesting. I love animals. At the same time I enjoy being blissfully unaware of what they’re thinking!

Oh gosh I love all kinds. It’s the same thing with food. If I enjoy it, I enjoy it. Though I’m not huge into rap - maybe the old school hip hop. My favorite music though seems to be from the 60s and 70s, folk rock and bands like Creedence. My parents were in their 20s and 30s during that era so it’s in my blood lol. I also love country from time to time as I was mostly raised in Arizona. For example, I love myself some Oakridge Boys especially during Christmas season.

It went alright. I hardly officially practiced, I think my daughter and I did one or two sabbats and a couple moons. But we still try to be aware, and to flow with the seasons and cycles. I also find inspiration in stepping out when it’s dark and looking at the moon and stars.

I’ve mostly been giving a little offering and water to the house spirit(s). Though I’m not sure we’re on speaking terms lol. Our house is very old and seemingly falling apart. We’ve got gremlins in the woodwork.

I much prefer afterwards! Too much hustle and bustle make me very anxious because I tend to be a perfectionist. This year was okay because we kept it simple and my daughter is older now, so the spoiling has gone out the window lol!

:herb:

I stopped creating resolutions years ago because I never kept them lol. Nowadays, I usually use the end of December to create a plan of what I want to get involved in in the new year and where I want to improve. I was just working on 2026 last night.

Ancestral_Rune_Year_Gaia_Hestia_FULL_2026.pdf (12.4 KB)

I definitely want to improve in my physical and mental health. 2025 hit me hard in many ways. I also want to make it a point to stay involved in the coven for the ENTIRE year and not drift away for a period of time with my head in the sand. I want to be comfortable in my own skin and stop worrying about what others may think of my beliefs and the things I enjoy doing. I’m a witch so deal with it!

I’ve decided that every month, I am going to learn about one rune, one God, and one Goddess in depth. I’m also going to plan ahead for whichever sabbat is upcoming so I can celebrate it in full. My finances have changed, and things have become tighter, but I know I can be resourceful!

:herb:

I would love, love to talk to animals! I mean, I already do with my Nico and Loki, and I understand what they try to convey to me, but it would be a treat to actually hear in human language what they think and feel! I’m sure Nico would cuss me out and Loki would complain about me stopping his fun all the time!

:herb:

I do not have a particular favorite. I listen to everything imaginable! Music is my life! It’s my own special brand of therapy!

:herb:

Not so well. I drifted away from my practice in the early part of the year. I let depression, anxiety, sickness, and old beliefs from my younger years pull me away. I also felt like a fraud and didn’t feel like I was a good fit to be a witch. Things have improved in the last couple of months on all fronts, so I am really excited for 2026 and new beginnings!

Happy in-between! :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:

Reason, is that something edible? Pull out all the stops :smiling_face_with_horns: :fire:

Every year is different… this one we stepped out of the whole thing, only did very minimal anything, and it felt right. Some other year I’ll be hustlin’. Cycles within cycles. Decompression does always feel good though.

Usually not. I’ve been getting some tarot draws that refer to changes next year though, I could write them down and get back to them along the year.

I’ve fantasized about being able to speak the native language with people wherever I go, so probably that. It would open up so many opportunities for connection, and living wherever I was feeling like at the moment. I think I prefer wordless communication with animals and nature spirits either way.

One that matches my mood at the moment, or the mood or energy that I’m raising. Sometimes it’s cozy and relaxing ambient or mantras, sometimes something sensual, sometimes power metal, psytrance, funk, movie soundtracks, you name it.

Exceeded all expectations :star_struck: I’m diving deeper into tarot and astrology, doing energy healing, I’ve made the loveliest IRL witch friends. I’ve been taking the hammer to whatever’s left of my broom closet, and putting my wild, chaotic, seductive enchantress self out there :heart_on_fire:

I think that’s very wise - simple moderation.

Right?!? Last week, we talked about which animal would be the rudest, should they be given voice we could understand. I think they might all give us the what-for if they could!

See, I call this practicing. :crescent_moon: It’s just subtle.
