Fun Friday (Part 2)

This looks great! And your dragon fruit ice cream has such a beautiful color - enjoy it! :face_savoring_food:

Ooo, I haven’t read this series so I’m not familiar with Ruth - but she is gorgeous! A White Dragon is majestic!

Same here. What kid would say No, right? :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Good call. I’ve never come across a horse that hoarded anything, useful or otherwise!

Yep - he took over a Dwarf Kingdom and kicked them all out, stole their treasures and guarded it as if it were his own. Quite rude!

Ruth is a he, don’t ask it’s a weird naming thing, and I think there are like twenty books in the Pern series? They kind of end in a cliffhanger, because the original author died. Her children tried to carry on but their books weren’t as good, IMO.

The Dragonriders of Pern by Anne McCaffrey

Start with those; those are the first you should read in the series. There are three: Dragonflight, Dragonquest, and The White Dragon.

I used to play for hours that Elliot had come to be my friend when I was little.

Yeppers. I mean, if they weren’t there, he could claim squatter’s rights, but the whole burning everyone and leaving charred bits around? Not nice.

Ah, thanks for the info! Yes, Ruth is near always a female name.

Sad that the author/creater passed - having others continue a series doesn’t always measure up. Different genre, but whenever Stephen King’s kid gets involved with his dad’s work, it’s noticeably subpar.

I’m a bit of a dragon dunce. The only dragons I can think of are Smaug and Puff the Magic Dragon….

Winged horse without a doubt.

I’d rather have wings, always wanted to fly.

No I think Smaug was just a treasure hog that wanted it all for himself.

If I saw a dragon out on a hike I might ask for a ride to the top of the hill, save me having to walk all the way.

Yeah. He’s good, but he’s not up to his Dad’s standards.

I’m with you, there- those are my too two, as well. I was trying to frame a question around Puff, but they came off more like a quiz. :joy: Puff was controversial in his heyday - some wanted to tie that song to smoking pot.

It would be so convenient, wouldn’t it? :woman_fairy:

I believe in friendly dragons! They would totally do kind acts like this. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Draco from Dragon Heart- the original voiced by Sean Connery. He had much to teach. I have to admit that communicating via dragon ala Spike is pretty cool, except we already have cell phones and internet.

I would appreciate a dragon ATM. Caffeine kicked in, this morning, and I’m getting messages that someone may be trying to trick me behind my back. It could just be nerves from the caffeine, but added protection would help.

Hmm. Offence in the tail spikes, or jump out of the way for defensive manoeuvres… defense. Wings. They could also be used for escape purposes, but I prefer to face my fears in good faith. I’d use the bad breath only if the defense mechanisms didn’t work.

Forgive me for asking… who is Smaug?

Hello. Sorry to bother you. How is your day going? The same kinds of things I say to any wild critter I come across.

Beautiful piece! Reminds me I need to get my fountain out, too. Mine is not as fancy, but it helps with dryness in winter.

I’m not familiar with this fella, though he sounds like a wise and friendly dragon. And I wouldn’t mind listening to Sean Connery read a grocery list, you know?

ooo! Take care - maybe a protection spell is in order today? :sparkles:

He is a very naughty dragon, made famous from J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit. He rampaged a nearby village in Middle Earth, drove out the occupants and stole all their wealth. He sat on their pile of treasures and guarded it fiercely. He was not to be trifled with! :dragon_red:

Let’s go! I know I’m late, but I had a hectic Friday! I didn’t even get to finish coloring my purple and pink dragon! Broomsticks!!

  1. Of course, we know who my favorite dragon is!!! Falkor, the absolutely adorable white luck dragon from The Neverending Story!
  2. A dragon in the backyard! Duh! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
  3. Dragon Wings!! Even though I am terribly afraid of heights, I really, really want to fly!!
  4. Absolutely not! He was manipulative and deeply vain. Yes, he was eloquent and very intelligent, but he represented destructive greed and possession. I like nicer dragons lol!
  5. I would be so excited I’d be like that little girl in The Minions who wanted her fluffy unicorn and then ask if I could keep him/her lol! I’m obsessed with dragons lol.

I think if I had my own wings, I’d trust myself and wouldn’t be afraid of heights anymore. That’s my theory at least.

No worries, Sis! The door is always open here whenever you have time to step in. I hope you have time to finish with your purple and pink dragon - this sounds beautiful!

 I figure as long as they don’t accidentally set the roof on fire, we’d be good!

I don’t know why humans are so ripped off - so many of us feel instinctively that we should be able to take off!

I’m sure they’d be happy to hang around with someone who would take such awesome care of them. And you’d never worry about transportation again! :dragon_blue:

Exactly!

It’s that time of the week again, my friends! Welcome to another round of Fun Friday! :sparkler:

Here are this week’s questions:

  1. What’s your most hated household chore? How come?

  2. Do you like olives? If so, what’s your favorite kind?

  3. Would you rather have a tail or a third eye?

  4. What animal best represents joy to you?

  5. How much AI do you use in your current practice?

I’ll be back later with my own answers (no, I really mean it this time).

Have fun!

  • What’s your most hated household chore? How come?
Doing dishes, making beds. I’m a guy.

  • Do you like olives? If so, what’s your favorite kind?
Yes! Green and stuffed with just about anything

  • Would you rather have a tail or a third eye?
I’m going with - we already have both.

  • What animal best represents joy to you?
    A happy dog.

I’m allergic to cats but I would love to have one (or it have me). Long ago, we had a farm in the Nairobi hills.. wait… it was Kansas, not Kenya.. keep confusing the two.. A cat was injured and abandoned on our access road. He liked living outside and we would bring him in when it was cold. He, in turn, kept our property free of typical field rodents. When inside, he would wait until the dogs laid down to sleep, climb up on them and sleep with them. Our mail box was about 1/4 mile away and he would walk with me to the mail box and back. He was a dog… in cat fur. Loved him.

  • How much AI do you use in your current practice?
None at all. Don’t trust AIs.

I will have to answer your questions later today. The next few hours will be busy!

Cleaning closets, cupboards and bookcases, I’d just rather leave the stuff where it is, and I often do. I’d much rather not have it in the first place, until I suddenly need it for something. I’d love to have a well organized pocket dimension or a bag of holding where I could just pull things out of and put back without having to worry about where exactly it is, or if it’s gathering dust. I love having pretty items around though, but the dust is an issue, I’m kinda sensitive to it too.

It’s a nice strong taste, but one or two every second month is enough for me  Just the plain hollow ones are good.

I’m imagining a witch who’s just learned to change someone else’s shape asking me that, holding a wand and giving me a measuring look :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

If the tail is fluffy and comes with a pair of cat ears, absolutely that :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes: Would the third eye let me see things I wouldn’t see otherwise? Future vision? That would also be tempting.

Kitten, a fluffy ball of energy :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:

None at all, I don’t like it. It makes soulless remixes of things people have put their love and attention into, and presents them as its own, and the original creators don’t get anything out of it.

I fear you shall be struck down by a freak accident in the near future. Be careful!

I love this story! We had a male cat who followed us outside like a dog. Our girls tend to stay closer to home.

See you later, Sis!

This is a genius idea. Were it only true, we’d all save time on the dreaded closest organization!

A totally reasonable scenario!

Excellent take!
