Fun Friday

Magic sneakers maybe? :running_shoe:

Well bless my cards, it’s Friday!! Woop woop :raising_hands:

Another week is done, let it all drift away, take the time to come back from where you’ve been in your day. With a smile in your heart, and a warm drink and food, I command you to get in a weekend kinda mood! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

1.Did you have a favourite nursery rhyme as a child?
2.What comes to mind when you see this card? FYI there are no “right” answers, whatever you think or feel is valid, I’m just being nosy :see_no_evil_monkey:

3.Tell us one thing you’re hoping for this coming week:
4.Do you have a study buddy, and if so how’s it going for you?
5.Write a limerick about anything you like; typically, a limerick is a verse in which the last word of the 1st, 2nd and 5th lines rhyme, and the last words of the 3rd and 4th line rhyme. For example:
There once was a lizard called Snappy,
Whose job made him very unhappy.
He went into work,
He started to twerk,
And now he is jobless and happy!

Here are my answers:
1.Twinkle twinkle was my favourite, I’ve always had a thing about stars. Still love that song, I sing it to my daughter
2.I see someone in a ritual, out in nature, trying to expel negativity back to the Heavens, and inviting light into their body.
3.I’m hoping it’ll cool down enough to take my daughter to see some boats this weekend, she loves water like I do!
4.I have several, and they’re all fabulous! :purple_heart: So knowledgable about the subjects, always a fresh perspective, we’ve had many fantastic conversations…personally, I’m loving it. Thank you all :clinking_glasses::people_hugging:
5.There once was a rabbit named Jerry,
He was always so happy and merry.
He bounced off his bed,
He fell on his head,
And now he’s laid up eating jelly!

Have a fabulous weekend lovelies! Love, hugs and sparkles :purple_heart::people_hugging::sparkles:

x Blessed Be x

PS @Amethyst magick trainers indeed, they have One Love on the sides! :sparkles:

This is gonna be a short one for me, but we’ll see.

  1. Not that I remember. If I did, I’ve forgotten. When I got older though, I loved Robin McKinley’s version of The Frog Prince. But that was more a short story than a nursery rhyme.

  2. Umm, yeah. Some guy thinking of large breasts. LOL!

  3. That my surgery on the 24th goes well.

  4. Nope, no study buddy. I have weird reading habits and didn’t want to impose them on anyone.

  5. Umm, I’ll try the limerick thing later. I’ve just sat here for ten minutes and the Muses are quiet. I got nothing.

Happy Friday!

I probably did, once upon a time, but I don’t remember. I’ve been watching The Resurrectionists videos about historical connections with nursery rhymes and fairy tales, so I know the rhymes, and my driver’s grandson has been spouting some in the style of Wierd Al, but I don’t remember myself at that age.

“Thank You!”

I was just talking to my neighbor. She heard our complex is being shut down by the city because of illegal activity. Everyone will be kicked out, eventually.

It doesn’t make sense. The building was recently renovated. A new owner took over less than a year ago. Yes, the neighborhood is going to Hel in a handbasket, but that’s no reason to close a relatively new building. Just sell it to someone who can take care of it.

I left a message for Housing a couple days ago, letting them know what’s happening on my end. I’m hoping to hear from someone about it all soon. If we are being kicked out, I’d like to be able to get somewhere I can be happy, but if it happens before my Housing lease is up, I have to start paperwork for an interim location which isn’t much better than where I am, but they have openings.

More than anything, I’m hoping for patience to await the best possible outcome. I’m the type that if I hear word from someone, I’ll jump on it ASAP, which may not be the best possible outcome. I’m already packing except for items I use daily, just because I’ve had no word on being allowed to sign a new lease, here.

I don’t know where to start. Yeah, we have the open thread, but signing up requires I write out what I’m interested in. Ever since Covid, I haven’t been interested in much of anything. I’m more of a trivia collector, so I stick to questions on the main forum.

There was an old maid from 'Burque
Who’s mind was as blank as could be.
She knew who to thank
But her mind was too blank
So she wrote in blank verse for a fee?

Happy Fun Friday on this lovely Litha day!

1.Did you have a favourite nursery rhyme as a child?

Not exactly a nursery rhyme, but I adored reading “Jabberwocky” by Lewis Carroll as a kid, and studying the crazy artwork.

2.What comes to mind when you see this card? FYI there are no “right” answers, whatever you think or feel is valid, I’m just being nosy

 That’s okay!! To me, it looks like someone is making a huge, important request of the Universe.

3.Tell us one thing you’re hoping for this coming week.

A positive outcome from the last week of physical therapy!

4.Do you have a study buddy, and if so how’s it going for you?

No study buddy. I’m inching my way along, though!

5.Write a limerick about anything you like

There once was a new witch named Feather
Whose mind was fixated on heather
“It’s so tender and pink,”
she could not help but think,
“Could it hold up to the trials of weather?”

I’ve no idea where that came from!

1.Did you have a favourite nursery rhyme as a child?

I’ll go for for Humpty Dumpty - I had a children’s book I read many times and I always wondered why he fell and why all those king’s horses and men couldn’t do squat.

2.What comes to mind when you see this card? FYI there are no “right” answers, whatever you think or feel is valid, I’m just being nosy

A woman’s chest

3.Tell us one thing you’re hoping for this coming week:

A cool card deck. I had two coming but one showed up today!

4.Do you have a study buddy, and if so how’s it going for you?

Yep. It is going great! (but don’t tell her :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)

5.Write a limerick about anything you like

There was a coven named Spells8,
Whose magic was truly first-rate.
With candles and charms,
They summoned no harm—
Just wisdom to elevate fate!

No guy would ever think that! Uhhh… wait… I need to change my answer! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Okay I gotta ask…what do you mean by impose your reading habits on anyone? Most of my study buddies, we’re flexible about time and reading; some don’t have any reading at all, because we have the most interesting discussions. Someone poses a question, or has an idea to bounce around, and we talk and learn through each others’ eyes. It’s not like we have a reading list or a study guide or anything like that, and we don’t even talk everyday because we have lives lol…we all learn in different ways, but everyone can learn something by talking with someone else. Well that’s what I believe, that’s how I and my study buddies roll

Me toooooo! I figured one of the soldiers pushed him off, and the others helped cover it up which was why NONE of the kings horses and none of the kings men put him back together. Either that or he had the dumbest army in history.

Well, that’s what I saw! LOL! :joy: I think even straight women get hypnotized by a pair of really big boobs. I wonder if they don’t tip forward and all that.

Well, I read a chapter of different books each morning. But I don’t have time later on during the day to really take notes or anything. I’m not good with note taking, and all that. I just try to absorb what I need and go back over the good bits once I’m done.

But yeah, I usually read pretty fast, so every other time I tried to study with someone it didn’t work out well. Then again, I haven’t tried in many years.

I was older when I discovered the ‘Jabberwocky’ - I saw a partial quote of it in a mystery story when a guy was about to do something that would be fatal. I went back and looked for alternative meanings in what Carroll was writing. He was definitely high at times but so interesting!

Well…there’s really no evidence of drug use, though the wildly imaginative “Alice in Wonderland” and poetry like “Jabberwocky” make it seem possible. But no actual evidence.

If he were alive today, he’d likely be a bestselling fantasy or sci-fi writer. Books of that genre are pretty wild, too - minus the brilliance wordplay, maybe.

In the meantime, we’d all be wise to beware the frumious Bandersnatch! :scream:

Yay, time for some Friday fun Sunday silliness! :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:

Probably some weird Finnish one like

Lälläl lälläl lieru (not sure what that even means! :joy:)
Sulta pääsi pieru (A fart just passed out of you)
Isolla kirkonmäellä (On the great church hill)
Iso pieru pääsi (A great cloud of gas was passed)

This is adorable, I liked this one too :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: In Finnish: “Tuiki tuiki tähtönen…” :star:

The Finnish version made me giggle, just for the mouth sensation of singing it: “Lilleri lalleri aidalla lepäsi, lilleri lalleri aidalta putosi” :joy_cat:

“I want to believe” :alien:
An alien is thinking something so big that it’s taking a life of it’s own…

Or that, once you see it… :waxing_gibbous_moon: :waning_gibbous_moon:

Meeting someone, doing some eye gazing, casting a spell or two… :sparkling_heart:

Kinda, that’s who I’m hoping to meet! :sparkling_heart: Another Lilith’s daughter  :black_heart: We’re less studying books, more ourselves in mirroring each other, and we’re enjoying it a lot.

Aren’t limericks meant to be dirty?
Kind of sexual, or at least flirty?
Not sure I know anything of that :innocent:
I’m just an innocent, wholesome cat

Fooling around and getting all squirty :sweat_droplets:

And on that note I wish you all very good night! :heart_on_fire:

Our Internet is back up and guess what I read first?

It’s tricky to find perfectly clean limericks unless you make them up. But that’s what AI does (make up stuff), so… Chatgpt commenting about social media:

On socials we post with great flair,
Our selfies and thoughts laid out bare.
But likes come and go,
With each high and low—
Yet still we keep scrolling the snare!

The most fun are those with double meaning so they make you read them twice.

A student named Sue, quite the tease,
Said, “Reading will put men at ease.”
With a book in her hand,
She made a demand,
“More pages,” she said with a squeeze!

Hey hey lovelies :waving_hand:t4:

Seeing as it’s technically still the weekend, how about a double-dose of Fun Friday? I hope you enjoy the questions, and I’m looking forward to catching up on posts!

1.What’s your someday plan? Someday, I’m going to…
2.What did you learn last week?
3.How is your magickal world spinning at the moment?
4.Did you have a favourite board game when you were younger?
5.What do you think your spirit animal is and why?
6.By the end of the “summer”, I want…
7.If you could buy an experience, what would you do?
8.Marmite - yay or nay?
9.Do you have any plans for the full moon or is it just another day in your Craft?
10.Finish the story: I’m walking through the forest and I see some lights. As I cautiously make my way towards them, I see a huge castle, iridescent and gleaming in the moonlight. The lights are floating lanterns, illuminating the path towards the castle, and I think to myself…

Here are my answers… for now lol

  1. Someday, I will buy a really fancy mobile caravan and go on a coastal journey with my partner and our 2 gems.
  2. A lot. I’ve upgraded one of my many mottos from “Everybody needs help sometimes” to “Everyone needs help sometimes, including me…and that’s okay.”
  3. Um…yeah…I’ll come back to that…
  4. Scrabble. My parents were big on educational toys…I’ll never forget the day my Dad dropped “zygote” on us…
  5. I used to think it was a chameleon, seeing how well I adapt to situations, but it’s totally a Phoenix…been rising from shizzle all my life!
  6. Sleep. World Peace. No politics. Free takeaways. A babysitter. And a peacock in a lotus tree.
  7. Helicopter experience, as terrifying as it would be, I’d love to experience that at least once.
  8. No, he11 no. In fact, to all those who like it - and I mean this with all the love in the world - explain yourself. I see a jar of tar. Literally, and like everything else, I can’t unsee it! What exactly do you like?
  9. Just the usual, reconsecrating tools and decks, chakra ritual and lots of gratitude for seeing another beautiful moon.
  10. And I think to myself ‘Finally, found it!’ I start dialling on my phone…‘Andrea? Yes, I’ve found it…you were absolutely right, the floating lanterns are fabulous dahling. Call the estate agent, tell her we’ll take it, then call JB and tell him I want security to have the perimeter secure by the end of the day…no no dont bother with fences, just the landmines will be fine… call the caterer, he has 48 hours to impress me…yes please, you can take care of the rest, thank you dahling, it will be the Ball of the century!’

Have a magickal week everyone :purple_heart::people_hugging::sparkles:

Let’s see …

  1. Someday, I’m going to read more of my fiction books on my to-read list, instead of just my witchy books.
  2. I learned a different way to look at connecting to the Gods.
  3. Pretty good actually.
  4. Nope. I mostly remember Scrabble, which I hated, Trivial Pursuit, and The Game of Life. Which could take HOURS and was boring. It was like an early version of the Sims, but with bills.
  5. Either the Turtle or the Fox. They’re the animals I see a lot when I meditate.
  6. To pay off some bills.
  7. If I could buy an experience? And be physically able? I’d love to go to the San Diego Comic Con, just once!
  8. NAY! Ew!
  9. I want to have plans, but I usually figure them out right before. So I can figure out what I need to make magic for. I’m waiting to see what they say about my hand tomorrow at the doctor’s to figure out what I’m going to do.
  10. Wow, that is just a trap waiting to happen. Run away! LOL!

Welcome back lovely, we’ve missed you and the Fun Fridays :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Make it rain doing what I love, surrounded by lovely people who make me smile, and abundance of every kind :sparkling_heart:

I learned to hump a pillow  Laugh away, it surprised me too, how much there can be to such seemingly simple and crude activity. I had a good teacher

A lot of integration. Learning from the snake, my new spirit guide :snake: Delving into the tree of Qliphoth again, and discovering a new connection with Lucifer. Lilith and Asmodeus are there too. Letting go, facing things and getting to know myself and my power. :heart_on_fire:

Labyrinth, the one by Ravensburger. I loved spooky castles, labyrinths and finding hidden things. Not much has changed in that respect :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:

Meow :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:
Though I’ve been starting to see more of snake too :snake: A fluffy scaly being with a cat’s head and a snake’s body?

To have lots of fun experiences to look back to, and if everything goes well, lovely things to do with lovely customers :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Just one? My mind is going to trickery to get more, like “I’d like to experience what it’s like to be really rich and powerful and stay that way” :joy: Or to be initiated into a sisterhood of Lilith or something. Single experiences are like drops of water, you’ll be craving for more very soon.

I need more data, but leaning on “nay” :joy:

Full moons are special to me, but I’m generally too chaotic to plan too much. Sometimes it aligns with a full or a new moon, and it feels extra nice :silver_heart:

“Is this a place of pleasure or pain? Only one way to find out!” :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:

Stop itching from mosquito bites and sunburn healing!

There was a good reason I removed myself from someone I thought was a friend a while back. I’d forgotten her tendency to offer to pay and then come back to say she’d lost her money. She wasn’t upset about it, just saying it happened like she expected me to pay. I had no choice. When I left, I told myself it was because she’d made several dates and didn’t call to cancel, leaving me to miss other things just because I was waiting for her. She was out having fun.

Still along for the ride, not really interested in controlling anything, no wishes to work on, just getting shoved around. Using it to find out upon whom I can place my trust.

Being an only child, I had no one with whom to play. Mom hated board games, so play with her was limited to Yahtzee and Go Fish. By the time I was allowed to meet others, they were good at games and had no desire to teach or be patient with a beginner. Thus, I never learned.

One day, my Big Sister (briefly in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program) brought out a game called The Ungame. The board was a path around a map of emotions with cards to draw, each card posing a question. The cards were available separately, so I collected them to be used as journal questions. Never met anyone who liked the game, so I never had anyone to play with.

I used to say it was the unicorn who taught me on Unicorn’s Harvest. Then cats became my favorite animals for a fur fix to relieve stress. Birds became my next guides. I always ask local birds about the neighborhood. Yet for independence and being alone, perhaps the Lone Wolf would be more my match, despite wolves living in packs.

To cool down, relax my brain from the seasonal boiling and heat related stress which hasn’t even begun yet.

Never heard of it.

I’ve never been attracted to the moon. It affects my sleep, I guess, but that’s about it. Looking forward to the breaking of stress, whenever that may happen.

What a pretty place. I wonder who lives here. Do they give tours or is this private property?

Found one of those in the ABQ Zoo!

1.What’s your someday plan? Someday, I’m going to…

I got nothing. I’ve had great luck just bumping into stuff that tweaked my imagination and then following through with it.

2.What did you learn last week?

I learned I can still stay up for 36 hours and function. Didn’t do it on purpose. It just happened.

3.How is your magickal world spinning at the moment?

Like a top!

4.Did you have a favourite board game when you were younger?

Monopoly.

5.What do you think your spirit animal is and why?

I know my spirit animal. I manifest her often. Her name is Blacky and she is a dog.

6.By the end of the “summer”, I want…

To go on a cruise. Preferably to Alaska

7.If you could buy an experience, what would you do?

Two months of travel to all the places I’ve been. I want to see the changes. Some places were jungle and are now tourist areas. Some places I remember fondly but have been told they are not nice now. I would like to touch base again.

8.Marmite - yay or nay?

Definitely NAY. Even the SO, who was born in England, thinks it is horrible.

9.Do you have any plans for the full moon or is it just another day in your Craft?

Just another day.

10.Finish the story: I’m walking through the forest and I see some lights. As I cautiously make my way towards them, I see a huge castle, iridescent and gleaming in the moonlight. The lights are floating lanterns, illuminating the path towards the castle, and I think to myself…

Damn, I’m lost again…
