Fun Friday

1.With your Craft, is there anything you do which you didn’t think would interest you at the beginning?

Cards (you knew I was going to say that). Now I’m obsessed.

2.What do you feel is your strength in your Craft?

Meditation. I shared with the SO and she is getting crazy good, too.

3.What are your magickal hopes for the coming week?

Shake off my current obsession. I wake up in the middle of the night and hit the computer… then I turn it on and start drawing stuff.

4.Finish this: I had a dream about…

Real dream about a love/hate relationship that went over to mostly hate. Now when I dream about it we are doing cool stuff again. If this is supposed to be my mind taking care of trash, it is mind blowingly inefficient.

5.What do you like to eat when you’re happy, and when you’re sad?

If I’m sad, nothing. If happy, I enjoy simple foods… burgers, fries. If with lots of friends the menu can be anything… it doesn’t matter because it will be delicious.

  1. With your Craft, is there anything you do which you didn’t think would interest you at the beginning? - I am going to say working with Green Witchcraft and working with Herbs. I now work with Herbs every single Ritual.
  2. What do you feel is your strength in your Craft? - Oracle Cards
  3. What are your magickal hopes for the coming week? - to continue to be the best Witch :woman_mage:t2: that I can be.
  4. Finish this: I had a dream about… - me running from something in a medieval city and my Aunt Ca who passed away over 10 years ago grabbed me and pulled me into this white tent. She was absolutely stunning. Dressed like a Goddesses. My Grandmother was there in Spirit. My Aunt Ca told me that I am on the right path and to keep going. I wish that I recorded the dream so that I have the exact words and the exact date.
  5. What do you like to eat when you’re happy, and when you’re sad? - When I am happy, Dove Chocolate. When I am sad, Ice Cream. It can be Chocolate, Mint Chocolate Chip, Cookie Dough, or Chocolate/Vanilla.

Gads. I’m terrible at that. Someday you need to post some tips for meditation.

Meditation really helps with the Chaos stuff (reference our other recent thread)

I learned to meditate well from a Paranormal Psychology class. The professor was awesome and super qualified. However, the meditation description lasted about 30 minutes of one class.

The basic idea is to get quiet, relax by concentrating on letting go of each part of your body, maintain breath control - which includes deep breathing done slowly. Then let your mind go. Literally, every meditation system does that. The guided meditations here on Spells8 do it (and that voice on the meditations is awesome). The SO can lower her heart rate by up to 20 points or more in one 10 minute session. She doesn’t build mind palaces but she does fall asleep sometimes.

Another way is a variation of it all and that is self-hypnosis which does all those steps and there are lots of guides on that, too.

I don’t like guided meditations anymore! I used to, but ever since I became a Witch, I just can’t stand them. Is that weird?

I don’t think that’s weird at all, @Selena-Paloma! It may just mean you have better control over quieting your mind and simply don’t need anything to help you focus. I think it’s a positive development!

I still like a guided meditation if I am short on time and want to focus quickly. Otherwise, I freely admit it takes me a bit to quiet my brain. The thing just don’t wanna shut it!

This is somewhat important. Sometimes stuff doesn’t work. It’s OK to quit it and use something that does. Indeed, I don’t use guided meditations much. Just talking about meditation (as in my previous post) starts me going to relaxation and I suddenly am ‘in the mood/zone’. I think that comes with familiarity of doing it a bit.

I still meditate daily, I just can’t do the guided ones lol.

I’m working on a new theory I got from a video from The Irish Pagan School, where you just sit and breathe. On the toilet, when you take your meds, whenever. Just find a chance and breathe.

Because I have a squirrel brain and restless legs. Between the two, my middle jiggles around, and I sit there like a big pile of jello that’s just getting off heroin. LOL!

Your description was hilarious. :beating_heart:

If you find it works and adopt it, then you did the Chaos thing automagickly. Do what works for you.

It wasn’t me! It was Lora O’Brien, the lady who did the video. She said that at least three times! LOL!

It works much better so far. Better than trying to sit still.

Hey you fabulous bunch! :waving_hand:t4:

It’s that time again, the end of another week. Maybe it was a great week, maybe it was character-building… either way, it’s the weekend and unofficially the official time to unwind. Enjoy!

1.If you could enter the world of any book you read as a child, which would you pick?
2.Out of all of your witchy/Crafty items, what do you have the most of?
3.If Hogwarts was real today, would you go?
4..If you could make a follow-up to a series or movie, what would you choose?
5.What are you proud of this week?

Here are my answers:
1.I think it would have to be The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis, and not just because I’d get to listen to Liam Neeson’s voice! I read a lot of books as a child, and that was probably my favourite, it just sounded like a truly magickal place to be. That said, I would never say no to popping in during Humpty Dumpty because I’m pretty sure it was one of the King’s men who pushed him off of the wall, but the horses can’t be ruled out either!

2.Definitely crystals. Some may call it a problem, I call it dedication. And I will… not… stop.:see_no_evil_monkey: Card decks are a close second though.

3.Totally! I’m not entirely sure how I’d do at a boarding school, but I’d give it a go! WingARdium LeviOsa!

4.Oh so many! I’m the kind of person who always wonders what happened after, always hoping for a sequel. But too often they’re just not as good…anyhoo! Probably something old like Big Trouble in Little China, I always wondered what happened to Jack Burton lol.

  1. I’m proud of my soul growth. Me, my self and I had a dialogue, trying to incorporate proposed changes and putting them into practice… it’s a process, but we’re on it like Sonic.

K’s woken up again so I’ll be back tomorrow to catch up, love and hugs and sparkles to all!

  1. There are two worlds that are similar that I would choose. The world of “The Squire’s Tale” by Gerald Morris. Basically an Arthurian world, or either of the two worlds of Tamora Pierce. Both Tortall and The Circle of Magic Universes are Medieval, just in separate locales. Even thinking about this makes me want to read these books again. I absolutely loved both of these authors and remember being in tears when I finished “The Squire’s Tale” series because “my friends are gone.” (a literal thing I cried about).
  2. By sheer number, crystals for sure. Second is card decks and I admitted to my husband recently that I am becoming a bit of a Card Dragon :dragon:
  3. I would definitely visit Hogwarts if it was real, but I think I would have to be able to go back at the right age to be a student. As an adult, I don’t know that I would enjoy it as much.
  4. I would make another season of Archer and Letterkenny. Those are two series my husband and I have watched multiple times and I would love some new episodes.
  5. I am proud that when I was feeling very frustrated today, I caught myself in the beginning of a spiral, so I sat down with a Tapping meditation and pulled myself back out quickly. I got up from the meditation feeling more grounded.

  1. If you could enter the world of any book you read as a child, which would you pick? - Dr. Seuss - Green Eggs and Ham! I loved that book!

  2. Out of all of your witchy/Crafty items, what do you have the most of? - CRYSTALS! Followed by Herbs.

  3. If Hogwarts was real today, would you go? - ABSOLUTELY! I think it would be really fun, but as a kid, not as an adult…

  4. If you could make a follow-up to a series or movie, what would you choose? - Two and a Half Men! My favorite show! I’ve often wondered if they would bring Charlie Harper back to life .

  5. What are you proud of this week? - I finally went back onto TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest today after 22 days away. With me being so sick, I haven’t been able to post anything, so I am really proud of myself for doing that!

1.If you could enter the world of any book you read as a child, which would you pick?

Easy - Charlotte’s Web. I’d be Fern’s BFF and hang out with her, so I could listen to Wilbur and Charlotte talking, too.

2.Out of all of your witchy/Crafty items, what do you have the most of?

Gotta give it to the herbs - I grow several.

3.If Hogwarts was real today, would you go?

I think I’d have to give it a try!

4..If you could make a follow-up to a series or movie, what would you choose?

A few…I’ll go with another season of The Great, since it got canceled and needed to be wrapped up neatly.

5.What are you proud of this week?

I kept my Oriole feeder going with the grape jelly, long after the traditional season is over, and was rewarded by three visits- a beautiful male juvenile. For some reason the juveniles have hung around the area longer this year. I just had a feeling…

  1. The Dragonriders of Pern: Dragonquest! Dragonquest is the second book in the Dragonriders series, but it’s where Fire Lizards came in! I WANT A FIRE LIZARD! Blue, green, brown. I don’t care. I just want a little Fire Lizard to call my own!

  2. It’s probably a tie between candles and incense. I have a lot of both. Like, boxes full.

  3. As much as I love the Wizarding World, I do not like Dumbledore, or most of the teachers, so no, I would give a pass to good o’ Hoggy-Hoggy Hogwarts. I just wouldn’t want to go to a school that ignored bullying, child abuse, bad teaching standards, and created child soldiers.

Yeah, I am not a Dumbledore fan. Nor a Ministry fan. I tend to like to read Harry Potter stories where Harry takes charge and overthrows both. LOL!

  1. Oh wow, that’s a tough one! So many to choose from! Umm, I guess of the more current shows, I’d say NCIS. Only I’d ignore the whole Tony and Ziva stuff and follow along with Tony as he learned to be a single parent to Tali.

Either that, or the old series, Forever Knight. I would have loved to have seen more of that show!

  1. I’m starting to learn the names of the Irish deities, and I think I’m getting the hang of pronouncing them! I don’t know if I’ll get them without prompting, but I’ll get there yet!

@Feathertip - I forgot all about Charlotte’s Web! Such a wonderful story!

@kayla31 - I know all about that spiral feeling! I am glad that you were able to catch yourself and start the tapping meditation. If no one told you today, I AM PROUD OF YOU!

@Nikki-Phoenix - I am proud if your growth too, Sis!

I am definitely noticing a trend with the Crystals!

1.If you could enter the world of any book you read as a child, which would you pick?

I didn’t read books much until I was in High School. Kinda weird because I mow through them now. My favorite back then was a book called ‘Hot Rod’ which was a coming-of-age book that resonated. BTW: There were many books called ‘Hot Rod’. Only one tweaked my brain.

2.Out of all of your witchy/Crafty items, what do you have the most of?

Cards. Lots of cards. I see something new to do with them every day.

3.If Hogwarts was real today, would you go?

Oh heck yes!.. except in the last books… it was too grim then

4..If you could make a follow-up to a series or movie, what would you choose?

A farce of Mission Impossible - Tom Cruise at 79 going to the market in his super tuned Prius. Or a Top Gun when he has a super-light and foils another world disaster.

Not a movie but ‘The Bridge’ by Elton John turned into a movie would be cool. OR ‘Dark Lady’ by Cher - it has cards.

5.What are you proud of this week?

I remembered the SO’s birthday. Our two daughters and I have a surprise party laid out for her.

I briefly considered Anne of Green Gables but my obsession with HP runs deep.

2.Out of all of your witchy/Crafty items, what do you have the most of?
Candles :see_no_evil_monkey: there is a rule in my family that noone is allowed to buy me any more candles. It’s really bad.

3.If Hogwarts was real today, would you go?
100% no question.

4..If you could make a follow-up to a series or movie, what would you choose?
There are so many brilliant series which just shouldnt have ended! The first ones which spring to mind are: Line of Duty, Hannibal, Mr Mercedes

5.What are you proud of this week?
Despite being horribly ill :face_with_thermometer: I havent been completely useless
