Beltane is behind us and it’s that time of year where the gardens are abuzz with bees. It is the season of flowers, honey, and abundance - and a great time for sweetening spells! For those new to the term, a “sweetening spell” is a type of spell that improves (“sweetens”) a situation. It can also function as an attraction spell, something that draws an outcome or wish toward the caster. A popular type of sweetening spell is a honey jar spell. There are many out there - here is one version I designed while inspired by the season 
Honey Abundance Spell
The first honey harvested in spring is often a lighter shade than its late summer/early autumn counterpart. This reflects the flowers the bees have access to early in the year. But as Litha approaches and the Sun grows in strength, nectar flows and honey turns a beautiful dark gold. This spell uses honey to increase abundance in positive ways and help make sure you have everything you need this season.
Ingredients:
- Honey
- Cinnamon (powdered)
- Full moon water or sun water
- Small jar or bottle
Instructions:
- Add a small scoop of honey and a pinch of powdered cinnamon into your bottle.
- Cover with charged water and seal tightly.
- Swirl the liquid inside three times in a counter-clockwise motion, inviting in positive energy and growth (Don’t worry if the ingredients don’t fully mix!)
- Place the jar in a window or outside in the morning sun to charge with solar energy. Collect the jar at noon.
- Your honey water can be placed on your altar to attract abundance into your space. It may also be given as a deity offering, used to anoint magickal tools, or included as a spell ingredient.
- After seven days, respectfully dispose of your honey spell water.
