This morning I cracked open an egg to find a double yolk!
I’m aware of the scientific reason for this, but I am right in thinking it’s also lucky aren’t I? I know it’s relatively rare and don’t think it’s happened to me before…

I would say that it’s going to be a good day! I love when that happens & I have found that it happens more often with actual fresh laid eggs than store-bought. I have a good friend that owns chickens 
& she gives me 2 - 3 dozen eggs 
a week. I share them with my neighbor. They are so good too!

Awesome find!
I remember when I was making deviled eggs for Easter around twenty years ago, I had a egg with double yolks. Haven’t come across one since.

I remember when my friend had given us a dozen eggs (they are always super fresh from within 24 hours, most of the time less than that) & my husband was making a “Big” breakfast. When he cracked the eggs, 2 of them had double yolks. We were amazed! We haven’t seen them since then. I should ask him how often he’s had it happen to him before. I feel like there have been other times in the last 20 years that it’s happened. I don’t remember any before that though.
I believe @BryWisteria had an experience with double yolks as well 1 morning! What the Yolk!?
