This reading uses the tarot card The Eight of Wands— a Minor Arcana card associated with fast movement, freedom, and travel. Use this spread to call on your guides and assess whether right now is a good time to make a move. This spread can help assess the timing of a career change, relocation, or trip.

  1. Shuffle your deck.

  2. Turn the deck over so that you can see the cards. Locate The Eight of Wands.

  3. If The Eight of Wands is reversed (upside down) or is the last card in the deck (with no card beneath it), this is not a great time to go.
    ➔ Pay attention to the card directly on top of The Eight of Wands. This card symbolizes what is keeping you in place. It may be a permanent force, or something temporary that needs to be addressed before you can move.

  4. If The Eight of Wands is upright or is the top card on the deck (with no card above it), it means you are currently in a good position to take action.
    ➔ Take a look at the card directly beneath The Eight of Wands. It symbolizes a force, situation, or entity supporting you as you go.

Well, I have to say this spread is well-timed :joy: I’m struggling with a decision right now that’s kind of put me in a weird position personally. I used this spread and, funnily enough, it confirmed what I thought about the situation. Eight of Wands Reversed with the Two of Wands Reversed underneath → don’t make a move yet because I’m overanalyzing everything lol basically, stop thinking about it so hard, it’s not that serious!

@BryWisteria I received the eight of wands upright and the card beneath the eight of wands is the nine of wands interesting can you tell me what this is about please.
The deck is called Magical Hours ( Tarot ) I have a very strong connection to this deck.

I got the exact opposite. The 8 of wands upright with the 2 of wands underneath it. 2 of sworda above it.

This is such a good Tarot hack! Fortunately, I feel very comfortable and settled in my life right now—which has been hectic and stressful enough as it is—and I’m enjoying the routine and the knowledge that I don’t have to make any major decisions in the near future. That’s a nice change of pace.

I’m afraid I’m not familiar with the Magical Hours deck, but assuming it uses meanings that align with the traditional Rider Waite meanings, then I’d be happy to share my thoughts looking in!

An upright Eight of Wands in this spread is read as a go-ahead sign from whatever deities/guides/spirits/energies are currently guiding you. The card below it points to something supporting you. In this case, it’s the Nine of Wands. This is a card of endurance. It may mean that your ability to stick with things and be persistent is helping you right now. It could also be a sign that the situation you are currently dealing with, although tiring, is approaching its end. If so, you’re almost there!

Stepping back a bit, it’s cool because the Nine of Wands is the chronological card directly after the Eight of Wands if the deck was put in order. I’d read that as a secondary positive sign that things are moving forward just as they are meant to, one step at a time!
