Let’s talk Tarot! What’s your favorite deck? Why? Recommendations on other tarot decks? 🥀

I bought the Soul Cats Tarot from Leeza Robertson’s (the deck creator’s) store on Amazon, but looking at the box I can see it’s been published by Llewellyn. So for anyone who doesn’t like purchasing on Amazon, I imagine the Llewellyn site might be a place to search! :grinning:

Just took a look and yes! It’s on Llewellyn (and on sale right now too!) :smiley_cat:

I don’t shop on Temu & even Etsy has a ton of the same types of decks for sale. Unless ot states the shop owner is the creator or I can find their site or the same on say, Amazon or Llewellyn… I won’t buy them.

If they come with a tiny guidebook or a QR code for the guidebook it’s not a good idea (In my own opinion/practice) Especially if that deck from the shop is cheaper than the same deck on another site that sells them or the artist’s pages. I’ve had it happen to me, so it was a learning curve I suppose.

I have had several decks gifted to me, usually if 1 seems to be following me around I will buy it for myself. I can usually tell if 1 is making my heart sing or saying Hey, pick me!

I recently found:

The Green Witch’s Oracle Deck: Embrace the Wisdom and Insight of Natural Magic (Green Witch Witchcraft Series)

The Green Witch’s Oracle

It’s by Arin Hiscock Murphy who wrote “The Green Witch, The House Witch, Spellcrafting, Protection Spells, The Witch’s Book of Self-Care, The Green Witch’s Grimoire, and The Green Witch’s Garden” books :books:

I also found this 1 by Jessica Roux:

Woodland Wardens: A 52-Card Oracle Deck & Guidebook

Woodland Wardens

I don’t know the last 1 kind of caught my eye & I continue drifting back to it

Yay! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: This is good news all around.

Thank you! :black_heart:

I didn’t realise Llewellyn was a publisher. That explains why they have so many decks on the website.

I can’t always afford to buy from the little guys. Especially now. I make more than most who do my line of work but it’s still not enough. Especially since I work a lil less. It hasn’t been easy. So I’m grateful for temu. I mean Amazon is just about as bad they are going to make the regular stores obsolete? Not really a difference in my opinion. Have to TRY to shop within my means. I mean after I graduate for my certification Imma try to go right back after I take a semester off or so. So I can make closer to 80grand a year than yeah I could shop at the little stores. I mean I shop some little stores but only if the prices are on point. That’s just me :people_hugging:

I am the same way. Plus my way of thinking is the cards are meant to guide and channel energies for reading. What kind of energies are created in these cards, given they are counterfeit? Yes, you can try to cleanse them but personally, I would always worry about them carrying negative energy.

I will buy clothing for running, like UV protection arm sleeves, on the dropship sites with no hesitation. As a matter of fact, I ordered a dozen and I love them. So I’m not anti-Temu/AliExpress/DropShipping. It’s important to me that certain items for my practice be from sources I trust.

Goodness, I said I’d stop going on about this. Sorry!

I have this one too

I’ve only recently heard of Temu  but normally use Amazon or sites themselves. I’ve never heard of the others you mentioned, until you mentioned them :joy: Etsy I found out the hard way. But don’t use it or shop like I once did either.

I am also very picky about practice items. & if I can’t make it then want it to be somewhere I trust too.

I have this deck as well, @marie21. It’s really a beautiful deck to work with.

Late to the party, but I am in love with The Green Witch’s Oracle Deck. I saw it and immediately was drawn to it, and we work really well together. Its just a very positive energy sort of deck, and its so pretty to look at too!
I do have a Rider Waite deck, but I find I get better or clearer answers from this one.
I am loving looking at all the beautiful decks everyone has shared, thank you!

I try to shop as much as I can local too. There is a botanica in my local town and it is an eccentric kind of place but great for individual candles, browsing random tarot, looking at altar cloths, and seeing books in person. They also have herbs and incense in stock usually. So I try to go to them for any stock that I need.

I love the Wonderland in Tarot. I connect to Alice. I actually got my first deck as a different Alice deck. I will take pictures another time when I’m near my sanctuary but my bedroom is being arranged over the next few days.

I have also purchased a few decks and affirmation cards through Temu. They are affordable - same decks on Amazon twice the price, so I can buy two instead of one on Temu.

I’ve got two new decks coming today. The Nordic Mystic tarot and a rune oracle. We’ll see if my demon tarot will let me go, so I can try these new cards :partying_face:

Does anyone just shuffle their favourite deck, just to feel the energy and find it calming? I find it’s a good stress reliever. :sparkling_heart:

Bit late to the conversation but one of my favourite decks in terms of imagery is the Santa Muerte. I could spend time just flicking through and looking at them even when not doing a reading.

Also waiting on these arriving (of course :joy:)

I have an old greek gods tarot deck that I don’t use for readings but sits under my laptop stand so I can grab it and shuffle when I’m nervous. stressed or high energy. There’s something about the size of the cards and the paper that’s perfect to shuffle.

What I lovely thread to look through, thank you for posting this!! I would love an oracle deck sub conversation like @Artemisia brought up as well, though perhaps everyone covered it a bit as well?

I’ve included my mothers tarot deck from Stuart Kaplan- my favorite but sometimes I struggle to use at times… It has a blank card, which I adore. And I made sure to include the world card from my thread a bit ago :green_apple:

I also included my elemental power deck from Melinda Lee Holm, I found in a wonderful little town where the woman in the shop immediately sat me down for a reading and then lunch. They also have a comforting weight for shuffling and the smell has not faded in years… fresh paper and ink despite the time and handling.

and last but not least, a wallpaper photo of the ten of swords from the modern witch tarot which is a lovely local and this one specifically is one that many people speak up about, if they’re interested in tarot or simply the visuals.

The words on the 10 of swords reminds me of the acronym for FINE: f**ed up, insecure, neurotic, and emotional.

My mom and I say “I’m fine” whenever we are having a hard moment but aren’t ready to talk about it. We usually have a chuckle because we know what we mean and then we are usually able to talk about it or shift the energy a bit or just give each other support.
