The extreme heat and drought have definitely affected my vegetable garden. I’m only now getting cherry tomatoes and a few cucumbers ready for harvest. They were amazing in my salad tonight.

Same here! No tomatos ready yet still green it’s wild. Cucumbers are about ready to pick and beans. Every strawberry had bites out of it. Guessing the chipmunks are climbing the netting.

Either hot banana or sweet banana. The chipmunks dug up some of my labels

Imma harvest cat mint and dry it out for the cats in the next few days. So I can store it. I just keep harvesting and drying so I have plenty of the herbs and stuff for magick

My guys like the fresh too. I bring in cat nip flower heads for them to play with and eat but you’re right. I should do another harvest to dry too.

so many cucumbers Imma have to start giving them away. I swear one cucumber plant can provide for a whole neighborhood they grow like crazy. It was so hot it took awhile to harvest anything this year. I got tomatoes growing but they are still all green

Fun fact - bananas don’t actually grow on trees! The banana is considered to be the largest herb in the world, and while it looks like a tree when it grows, it’s actually not. I had a banana plant in Florida but didn’t get any bananas before we moved. They also reproduce like aloe plants, creating what are called pups at the bottom of their stem that have to be removed and planted elsewhere.

Seriously!! It’s no lie. Unfortunately I researched wasps and they are important too. Ugh they are terrible and so aggressive that if they are near a plant u can’t get close without pissing it off if I see them where i aim to pick I just wait a few hours to see if they are gone they are good at unintentionally pollinating

They are fun to watch. It’s even funnier seeing the cats react to them through the slider. I know the cats get bored so I throw the nuts right in front of the door. Free instant cat tv.

I was trying to pick lettuce and beans and I barely tapped the side of the box with my shoe and a wasp flew at me I ran up the deck and through the slider so fast. I don’t even think I touched more than one stair.
Damn wasps man… I got beans on the table out there. Escaped with my lettuce and my life lol
