That is gorgeous and I like the end result of the garden too! We have a cross between rocky & sandy. Like beach sand… So I think using the beds will be very helpful instead of trying to get them planted in the yard.

I had acually seen something that said in certain areas to plant creeping red thyme due to it’s low maintenance and it helps the pollinators. Plus looks and smells funny… I haven’t said anything to my other 1/2, but I’m sure he’ll be excited about my new finds and things to do

I did get the 2nd batch of my treasures cleaned and rinsed yesterday. I let them dry overnight. So I think that I am going to make some more seed starters then start putting the mineral oil on them afterward.

While techniquely not in my garden or in any garden unless you count the woods as a garden, flowers I’ve seen the past 3 days.

Top to bottom and left to right: Red Clover (Trifolium pratense), Tulip Tree flower (Liriodendron tulipifera), Buttercup (Ranunculus carolinianus*), Golden Knee (Chrysogonum virginianum), Blue bugleweed (Ajuga genevensis), Jack in the Pulpit leaves (Arisaema triphyllum), Rue Anenome (Anemonella thalictroides), False Strawberry (Potentilla indica), Azure Bluelet (Houstonia caerulea), Dwarf Crested Iris (Iris cristata), Plain-leaf pussytoes (Antennaria parlinii), Jack in the Pulpit flower in my garden.

These pics are beautiful! Thank you. Our lilacs (city- wide, not in my area) are almost done. I did see some yucca in bloom in the snow and sleet of Founder’s Day out by Old Town on Saturday.

They are lovely! We noticed lesser celandine (looks like a mini daffodile) in our front yard & buttercups. My hyacinth :hyacinth: split this year too! My forsythia is blooming & oh! I have seeds for black bleeding hearts germinating!

Congrats on the baby hyacinth. Welcome to the family!

Bleeding hearts are great shade plants. When it blooms, could you share a pic?

Are the lesser celandine smaller than paper whites? Or are they the same thing? We had different names for so many of the plants in my childhood gardens! Nobody has basic daisies anymore! I’m pretty sure I’ll never see Father Hugo’s Rose again. With all the miniaturization going on, does anyone know that lilacs used to grow 8-10 feet tall?

When my mother died a few years ago, I ended up rescuing some plants from her house. She wasn’t much of a gardener but she did have a few things planted. One of the things was this little blue flower. I had no idea what it was, and there was only the one, but I was digging up a giant rhubarb plant so I decided to save that baby as well.

It came up last year, one little blue flower. This year it has come up just a few days ago. And wow, year three is always a leap!

Six! I’ve run the picture through Plant Net. They say it could be Glory in the Snow or Siberian Squib or Squill. Something like that.

I’ve planted the new rose bush, one of the two blueberry bushes, a new butterfly bush, another rhubarb plant and some horseradish roots so far. Tonight, tulips and probably asparagus. It feels really good to get my hands into the soil. This is my most ambitious year-I have so many plants on order that will all need planting.

And I think I’ve found my garden project for next year:

A moon garden. I’ve been thinking about it for some years now. Plus the idea of planting things that night pollinators will enjoy is very appealing. And the Moon is my sister and deserving of a place in my garden. Next year is her year.

@Artemisia Love what you are finding around you. Not even a dandelion here yet.

@georgia they look like a miniature yellow daffodil. I’ll try to get a picture of 1 tomorrow. I love  lilac bushes. Growing we had one on each corner of our house. They were huge! I’d be willing to bet over 10 feet. I’d so live to have one again.

Today… my little cactus fell off the bigger one, so I have that one propagating.

My pink bleeding hearts just started coming up :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: In my little greenhouse I have black bleeding hearts propagating. I have sunflowers :sunflower: germinating. My hostas are starting & so are both types of irises… I have daisies! They arent up yet, there some other flowers getting ready to come through too.

@veronica1 I also want a blueberry bush at some point. They are so good right off the bush!

@georgia we just call those daffodils… These are smaller.

My Hyancinth has a friend now too

@veronica1 as they are doing their thing… I’ll keep everyone updated. I still have 1 pink one to transplant & split. Then another pink one that needs to be transplanted. My husband had someone we kniw at a nursery get them.

I’ve been looking for a green man to put in my garden. But I can’t find one that’s big enough but still in my budget. Or one that can be outside if it is big enough or within my budget. So this is a bit of compromise for now, until the Universe puts the perfect one in my path. What do you think? Green man adjacent?

I think I might plant Mugwort in there.

I went back to Magick Gardens One to find this pic. It’s after my pineapple top started growing. This pic is from 2022.

I saw them in Hawaii when I was 6. To me, it is a bit of Aloha.
