@Jeannie1 thank you. I hope your week is blessed
Well I do appreciate u both, this week I got a job opportunity to work for someone else only the drive would be a lot! I am helping one of my clients with her dog, I figured it be a great opportunity to honor Hecate since she loves dogs!
Her name is Trina
Her leg is so messed up she canāt walk on it. Saturday Iām taking her to the vet.
I hope she gets better!
Jeannie
Aww poor little thing. I hope the vet fixes her up quickly. And if she is still in pain feel free to message me and I can recommend some things to help her.
I know it pains me to see animals suffer and I should probably do a pet protection spell to help!
Thanks for your friendship Iāll keep you posted on Trina k
Jeannie
OMG! You have a sausage to work with!!! I have 2 Sending lots of love and healing energy to MIss Trina with lots of doggy kisses and tail wags from Denzel and Sari.
Thatās a great question, @Susurrus- my first encounter with prayer beads was at Buddhist temples, so I still canāt help but associate them with Buddhist rites first. But I know some witches do use prayer beads/mala beads for magick! Iām sure you could craft a special prayer bracelet for Hekate- perhaps with volcanic beads and incense? Maybe if you mention this in the current Hekateās Night discussion, other Hekate worshippers will have some great ideas for you!
Were you able to get a good antibiotic, @Amethyst? Hope things are starting to look better with your leg! Healing energy coming your way
Iāve seen videos of the crazy weather in Vancouver on the news- please stay safe, @debra2! I hope the weather lets up and recovery efforts can get started soon to mitigate the damage- take care of yourself and be well!
Thank you, @Jeannie1- wishing blessings back to you too! Congrats on the new job offer, thatās really exciting! And Trina looks like such a sweetie- she is blessed to have you taking care of her!
Hello Denzel and Sari!!! Awww they are so sweet @jessica72
I hope everyoneās week is going well so far- Happy Wednesday, the weekend isnāt too far away now!
Is everyone ready/set in their plans for the Full Beaver Moon, Lunar Eclipse, Full Blood Moon?
Thank you! I donāt personally work with Hekate, but I know many of our members do. I actually found them for Hekate by looking for a Morrigan bookmark. Of course, then I found many other deities that have bookmarks, prayer beads, bracelets, etcā¦
I was actually wondering how they are used in practice & if anyone incorporates them into their craft. I have similar associations with them because of the use of a Rosary, so without knowing their uses in this reference, I canāt separate the 2ā¦ I hope that makes sense.
@Jeannie1 congratulations on the job opportunity & for assisting your client. A wonderful way to honor Hekate. I hope the poor baby gets some comfort after seeing the vet this week.
SIgh. I got an antibiotic that I found out AFTER the doctorās office closed that will mess up my depression medicine. So Iāve got to call tomorrow and see if she wants me to take it still. I did get a pair of compression stockings today so Iām able to not have my good leg wrapped, so thatās something.
Thanks for the good thoughts and energy @BryWisteria, I appreciate you!
That absolutely makes sense! I didnāt even think about Rosaries- youāre right! It looks like prayer beads of various kinds play roles across various religions.
As for how they could be used in magickal practice, perhaps as a meditation tool? (going right back to the association with Buddhist prayer beads here- forgive me ) You could associate each bead on the string with a wish. I suppose you could also include a different crystal/stone for each bead (making a kind of crystal grid but on a stringā¦ maybe crystal expert @Christina4 would have some advice or thoughts on that? )
Oh dear! You would think the doctor would know to check your other current meditations to make sure there wouldnāt be any interference. Iām sure a lot of people wouldnāt even think to check for themselves- you are very smart for being aware of your prescription, Amethyst! Thank goodness you checked
I appreciate you too I hope you get to the bottom of the medicine mix-up asap! And enjoy your new compression stockings- it sounds like they help a lot
Iām a lot late but congratulations to @Garnet and @jessica72 for their participation.
I hope everyone is having a great week!!!
Thank you xxx
Well, I canāt claim my cleverness too much, there was a sticker on the side of the bottle that warned me. Still, Iām glad I caught it. That could have been bad.
If I donāt talk to you again, have a good weekend!
I have had this happen & the pharmacy has actually caught it! It was when we were doing trials for my migraines. I am on some other medications & it was actually the type of medication that was bad for meā¦ knocked out a whole family of medications to try. They would increase something in my system to toxic levels. The specialist I went to knew my medications & other conditions but still wanted me to try this medicine.
@Amethyst Iām proud of you for not taking it after you checked interactions. I know of people that because their doctor said it was okay, they have taken medications that interact & have had some harrowing results. Great job! I hope they pay more attention & can come to a solution for the right antibiotic or treatment.
(Side note: I love compressions too, I have the shirts & pants for the cooler weather & my joints. & the socks for my ankles)
Their solution is to stop taking my antidepressant and take the antibiotic. Not something I want to do. So Iāve got yet another call to my shrink this time and see what they say about it. But theyāve gone home so Iāll find out tomorrow. Sigh. All I want for Christmas is my leg to not hurt instead of my two front teeth. Is that so much to ask?
Do you use sock aids to get your socks on? And if so do they work? Just wondering. I donāt want to spend twenty bucks on an aid that may not help. Thanks, love!
@Amethyst if youāve found an anti-depressant that works well for you then Iām not sure that your psychiatrist is going to want you stop that without a REALLY good reason. Man Iām so sorry, I will send some healing energy your way tonight.
I got mine after my surgeries, I had to have my husband do it for me. He said roll them from the top down flatten your hands together inside & roll them up as you wiggle your toes between your hands. (I feel like itās really easy to do but difficult to explain. Iāll ask him for visual references )
They said I could stop it for a while, but that I canāt go cold turkey as the doctor said. Iāll know more tomorrow.
My problem is my gut. I canāt reach my feet! LOL. So yeah, I managed to get it off last night but Sally had to put it on for me today.
At first I couldnāt sit up then I couldnāt sit & bend forward AT ALL. So I had to have someone do it 99.9% of the time or I didnāt wear them until someone could help me. If I knew there was an aid, I would have tried that too! Iāll find out if anyone that uses the socks also uses the aid & let you know.
Thanks, love! You rock!
@Amethyst hi hon, sorry your still having trouble with your leg. Just wanted to let you know the aids for compression socks work great. You can get them with a longer piece on the side if bending is an issue. An online drugstore or Amazon will have them.
Siofra,
Yes its a great way to honor Hekate, and it felt so good because Trina got the help she needed. She is Dachshund and since she is seven pounds over weight she seems to be having a problem with the spine. Dachunds usually have hip problems when they are over weight and have issues with there back. She was given some pain medication. So I want to try to help get her back into shape.
Love and light
Jeannie
