And Loki greets them all with a āNo, sheās mine. Go away.ā
@starborn I wish, but he welcomes them in and gives them tea and cake
There is something to be said about how the body stores trauma. Itās entirely possible that your body remembers the physical stress of being under anaesthesia even if your mind is okay with it, if that makes sense. So, the needles, the sterile environment, all of that could have caused a sort of physical stress response even though mentally you were okay. Thereās a book Iām trying to slowly make my way through called The Body Keeps The Score, all about how the body stores trauma and remembers. Anyway, just a thought Iām glad you donated, though! Itās super important. I need to go do that, too, but Iām always low on iron and have been turned away before because of it lol
Thatās part of why I didnāt start earlier in life. Low iron, antidepressants, COVID, then ear piercingsā¦ And I have this long-standing fear of needles that Iām working through by trying to create new experiences with more positive associations. And even then! My donation took a while yesterday because the nurse called a doctor to talk about whether I could donate at all after having had a heart murmur in 2017! So many thingsā¦
That makes sense. But then why did it start so late in life?
Maybe it could actually have been started by the general anaesthetic session before that. I had a pretty intense wisdom teeth removal. It ended as usual, with me coming out of the general anaesthetic making jokes and whatnot that I have no memory of. But my body probably remembered how brutal it was, and that didnāt ākick inā until the next timeā¦
Is this book by Bessel van der Kolk? I might try to find a copy and dive into it myself as well.
And thank you for providing this perspective. Youāre always dropping in with such pearls of wisdom. (Oh gosh, I hope I got the term right.)
Anywayā¦ I must make another attempt at sleeping. I have too many work meetings today not to.
@starborn you did something very beautiful my sister!
think that you are saving a life by donating bloodā¦
as for your fearsā¦guessā¦Iām also afraid of needlesā¦and Iām a nurseā¦
I totally get it I have to talk to a nurse every time because I had neonatal jaundice when I was born but thatās not an option on the form, just jaundice. They have to make sure my liver is fine and it was just when I was a baby lol
Aww Yes, thatās the right term (and the right author!) ā Iām not sure why it would start so late. I just know that bodies are weird lol I hope you get some sleep. No sleeping during meetings!
Have you ever tried Japanese Acupuncture. Itās great for physical healing but also emotional healing and removing anxiety over things. I had a lovely treatment from a shaman, originally for repetitive wrist syndrome, but she then went on to heal some anxieties I had. Itās incredibly relaxing and Iām no longer afraid of needles. Just an idea.

@Artemisia happy anniversary
@starborn itās cool , I am too an I will stick someone else but please do not do me!
They sure are!
That used to be my speciality. Iāve fallen asleep sitting between the CEO and CPO during a meeting with a bunch of representatives from other travel agencies at an old job. Fortunately, I did not snore and no, I did not get in trouble.
I havenāt. I did some research after you mentioned it and found a place that seems nice in The City. Can you just make an appointment and be like, āI have no idea what I need fixing, but I want to try your servicesā?
I promise I wonāt let any needles poke either of you while Iām around.
Itās @Artemisia anniversary, not mine love! LOL!
@starborn yesssss muscle/ tissue memory sounds like your having. I hope you feel better and the cry helped to release some trapped energy (ERT- emotional release technique)

I fixed it hit the wrong A donāt have on my glasses
@starborn Yes, just book a consultation, youāll have a chat, talk about whatās up and then they do the rest. It was wonderful. I had I think about 6 weeks, she did the needles but also smoked the needles and burnt smoke around me too. My repetitive wrist has never come back. Give it a try. Downside, itās not cheap, well in the UK itās not cheap, sorry
@tracyS Whoot Whoot! Congrads congrads you deserve it!
@Diamond Thankyou lovely I love the Muppets
@MeganB Itās beautiful
Thank you @Amethyst @tracyS @celineelise @AIRAM @Diamond for the anniversary wishes!
Our anniversary dinner was fun. Still need to find a better recipe to make sushi rice as ours turned out too sticky but we had fun making the best of it. It was a good first try and we found things we liked and things we didnāt.
I made my own eel sauce, yumyum sauce and hot honey. The yumyum sauce and hot honey were hits. Also, spicy tuna was awesome. Cream cheese was too much of a mess to deal with and jalapenos were a hit! My favorite was topping each piece with a slice of kiwi and a jalapeno. Looking forward to trying this another time!
@Artemisia It all looks fabulous. So glad you have a lovely time
