My Route to Spells8 and Infinite Roots :infinite_roots:

Firstly, Happy Birthday Spells8!

So how did I find you all?

Here in the UK we have a census every ten years, and our latest was on 21 March this year, the day after Ostara.

I’d don’t know whether it was a calling as such, but I felt a strong connection to the Spring Equinox this year. I’d previously considered myself spiritual but agnostic. When it came to filling in the census and I was asked about my religious orientation, I put Wiccan. It almost felt like divine intervention if that makes any kind of sense.

So I made a commitment that day to make that declaration a reality which I appreciate may seem somewhat backwards. Well a week later in my research I stumbled across Spells8 and the printable pages. Having poked around for it a little while I subscribed and joined the forum on 31 March.

I’m not sure how to explain it, but it feels like coming home. I was talking to a good friend not long afterwards, explaining that I was Wiccan and it felt right and her response was “that doesn’t surprise me about you” (she’s one of my best friends and knows me well).

So since then I’ve been reading and growing and learning what works for me.

I’m working my way through the courses, seeing what resonates and what doesn’t.

When it came to my self-dedication ritual and thinking about deities, I felt drawn to Persephone, Diana and Hecate, which @Francisco very helpfully explained was pretty much my own Triple Goddess.

It’s been an exciting couple of months as I become more in tune with who I am and what I’m looking for, and I’m very grateful to have found my wonderful coven to share it with.

This path I’m on feels right and I’m learning to trust my intuition. Having the :infinite_roots: symbol tattooed feels like part of that path.

Thank you all for being so welcoming and helpful.

@IrisW I put Wiccan too  and for the first time felt comfortable listing my sexuality as Bi.

I put Wiccan and bi this year. The first time is rough (I’m bi, too) but afterwards there’s a sense of relief. Like you feel lighter!!

I’m also bi.

I’ve tried using many different labels for myself over years including pan and queer, but bi just feels more right. I did come out as bi when I was 15 so I guess I’m kind of used to it!
