November 16th is Hecate's Night

I finished my Hecate inspired Poppet yesterday and was able to have a few moments honoring Hecate.
In my poppet I included besides stuffing:
Feathers- to inspire a free flowing connection with Hecate
Sea Glass- for renewal and healing
Dragons Blood Resin (crushed) - Related To Hecate
Dried Rose Petals- Offering Related to Hecate
Lavender- to symbolize devotion
Mugwort- to encourage wisdom and observation (herb of the crone and sacred to Hecate)
White Sage- for protection and sacred to Hecate
Seashells- associated with the third eye chakra of opening vision, intuition and spiritual insight
Clear Quartz- to amplify energy
After completing my poppet I lit a Sandalwood incense and a black candle for Hecate and opened my heart and my craft to welcoming Hecate as a guide and teacher. I placed her on my smaller altar for now but will add her to my bigger one upstairs.

Blessed Be,
Rowan

Travel Witch,
I should have put my bean soup out for Hekate at the crossroads!!!

Well, at least I know now that for each lunar cycle devotees honor Hekate by leaving the meal out for her! I am sorta upset that I did not do it correctly for The Deipnon. It’s okay this time but next time I’ll get it right and I still learned from my mistake

No worries, @Jeannie1- I am sure that your lovely offerings and celebrations were appreciated by Her! And at the least it was a great learning experience, now you know what will work best for next year  :+1:

Everyone’s celebrations for Hekate’s Night look amazing- thanks to you all for sharing! :black_heart:

@Jeannie1 You got me thinking about torches and I found out about these mullein torches to make:
A Witches Ritual: Mullein Torches – Witch in the Woods Botanicals
I think I’ll try to make a few if I can find some mullein stalks around.

Valen,
That is where I got the idea that is funny :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: I just didn’t have mullen and it was a different article and thank you Valen for sharing with me. I will look over the article more thoroughly k

Valen,
You got me thinking I would like to try the Mullen too!Valen did you see in the picture of a snake in the torches?I think it’s Hecate’s way of telling me something! I’m just at the cross roads I’m always stuck! Transformation? I’ll be honest right now Valen, chanting is a new thing for me, however I am glad I found a way to go to my Queen

Yes, I definitely noticed the serpent flame in there @Jeannie1 very cool! Transformation is growth, keep on going! I’m taking a class with meditation and chanting, one of the things we always ask about is the things we see as signs and visions. What our teacher always stresses is to be happy with signs and visions along the way, as they are part of what happens when we do the work, but to not get stuck looking for the meanings of them. Be happy with them but then let them be, and this will allow for more direct and clear communications from deity further along the path. :snake: :fire:

Since tomorrow is November 16 & I know that we have more than several members who work with Hecate, I am bringing this post back for anyone that needs some information about it :hugs:

Typically this night is celebrated beginning at sunset by leaving a supper of mushrooms and honey, goats’ milk cheese, milk and bread at a crossroads.
It is said that Hecate blesses those who leave her an offering tomorrow night.

Hecate’s Night is the night that she roams the earth with her hounds.

This is also the night that new initiations are made for Witches who follow her.

To honor Hecate, burn this incense at a crossroads, or at any ritual space during this Waning Moon. :waxing_crescent_moon: :full_moon: :waning_crescent_moon:
• 3 pinches sandalwood
• 2 pinches cypress or pine
• 1 pinch peppermint
Burn this alongside your food offering for her on November 16

Wishing all those who celebrate a very blessed Night of Hecate tonight :waning_crescent_moon: :sparkles:

This will be my first time celebrating Hekate’s night. I chose to place my offerings of eggs, rosemary, thyme, and sage at the closest I have to a crossroads is a path that runs between my neighbors and my house and intersects with the path that runs around the lake.

I made a ladder of skeleton keys

and plan to do my first reading with the witch runes that I made a couple of challenges ago and dedicated to Hekate.

Blessed be :last_quarter_moon:

Blessed be all! I feel a strong connection with the Goddess Hekate. There are several coincidences in my life. First my birthday, 3-3-66. Next I met my husband on Friday 7-13-01 and we married Friday 7-13-12. Every home I have bought is at crossroads. I researched the orgin of my daughter’s name, Katrina. It traces back to Hekate. I am honoring her tonight and will again with the new moon and on 11/30.
