Two new, simpler ones this week. Both are bangers from flash sales but I loved the designs and I wanted to get as much ink as possible before my travels.
This is from a friend. It’s supposed to look like I’m getting cut open. I like it, even though it’s not witchy. I don’t know when I will be back in the area and I had to get their art on me before I left.
Congrats on your new tattoos, @praecog29! They both look great- I especially love how elegant and charming the candle one came out Wear them with pride!
I know what I want next, the moth from Silence of the Lambs. Debating whether to go back to the same artist I’ve just been too, or being patient and getting it done at the Tattoo Show in October, if it goes ahead…
I am up to 8 total tattoos since March. I got there by getting 3 tonight. My friends there love me. Two of my new tattoos aren’t “witchy”. The last one is, though. It’s 3 butterflies around my lotus flower.
The symbolism behind the number 3, the butterflies, the candle, and the lotus all come together for something both beautiful and magical and I am thankful for my gifted friends for making these for me.
I’ve found an Etsy seller whose work I love, she designed the tributes I have to Hecate and Persephone on my altar.
She recently added to her shop an Odin design incorporating a raven and red moon.
I purchased a paper copy and sent her a message asking if I could also have a digital copy as I’d like to use it as a basis for a tattoo. She was thrilled with the idea and I’ve started working on the design.
Provisionally booked for 24 August (my artist is incredibly busy right now) and I’m debating placement. Thinking either my left side, inside of my right arm or my left thigh…
The day @Abs53 created a thread about her desired Selene tattoo was the same day I filed for divorce from my ex. It was also 6 days before “my dumb incident” and 6 months before I created this thread to avoid cannibalizing hers.
Wow. That’s random. I’m hoping it will make sense tomorrow.
There was no way for me to know when I created this thread that I would end up posting the most in it this year. I’d never had a tattoo before. These things are addictive.
I’m slowly getting my wall altar tattooed on my body, itself a living temple to My Eternal Goddess. While most of my tattoos are planned affairs, there have been a couple spur of the moment ones. That is the case with the one I’m sharing here.
I walked in and asked my friends who was free and wanted to do this. The guy that did my 2606 Flower took care of this within an hour of me walking in the door. It’s a simple, but meaningful tat. Witchy? That’s debatable, but I have two Torii on my wall altar as visual guides to the rest of the altar.
So enjoy tattoo #9. I’ll post 10 and 11 next month after I get them.
Yes, I had to redirect some funds for a course I’m attending… But Nicky (my tattooist) has a waiting list post covid so I can’t have them anytime soon anyway
