Celtic Month of Ivy (resilience)–How have I been resilient this year?
Well, this gets us off to the start of September.
Mabon, for those in the Northern Hemisphere is the “Witches Thanksgiving”, 2nd harvest; time to give gratitude for the year, and prepare for the rest time of Yule. Ostara, for those in the Southern Hemisphere is “Easter”, springtime, birth and renewal. Time to “wake-up” from the rest of winter and get ready for spring, summer.
well I wasn’t up at 6 am, but it was certainly cooler here this morning at 9. If I wasn’t heading to the doctor’s (again - this time for an echocardiogram) I’d be heading outside to pull weeds and start the garden tidy-up.
Day 1: What part of myself has transformed this year?
The part of myself that has transformed has been my willingness and ability to go with the flow, to adapt to situations as needed and to know that everything comes in its own time. I can remain centered while life changes around me.
Unlike my Lenormand draw today, this is a great card. (Q of Cups). It says that through the year I have improved my. Compassion, my Intuitive insight, my Empathic presence and my Inner calm
I really had to think hard on this one. How does abundance show balance?
The only thing I could come up with, is that abundance of what I have (not a whole lot, not rich, but not wanting), and the perseverance I have had throughout my life, will finally reach a balance. Really? In what way?
Wow. All Branches (Wands). All with the Fire element.
vision = momentum = recognition,
Balance comes from following the desire that keeps tugging at me.
Movement becomes easier when it’s toward what feels ripe.
Recognition is the natural outcome of honest growth.
Balance = choosing the direction that feels ripe (3),moving decisively toward it (8),and letting the results be seen (6). Winding the Fire element in - this is purposeful fire and not retreating or delaying.
As per previous readings with this card, The Queen of Cups reminds me I can find balance this month by embracing my own inner wisdom and steady compassionate presence. These qualities allow me to maintain balance in my life, without being overwhelmed by drama, emotions of others, or turmoil around me..
This is answering the question with the mind and thoughts, and feelings/emotions. Using a mod/sub/mod, I came up with this.
What new habit will support my spiritual growth?
In making decisions (2 swords) that will be coming my way, I need to weigh the decision carefully by really examining it deeply (4 cups^) and not making decisions too quickly (kn. swords ^).
The Magician says I’m hesitant to step into my full capability. I hesitate when I should be a bit more open and doing something.
On a TOTALLY different thread. I started thinking about upgrading the pictures on my Celtic deck from rustic to realistic. The card above is the more realistic version. The following card is the less realistic version that I like but am considering changing.
So I still expect the Tarot to answer my question literally, even though I know it doesn’t do that. So I was expecting to actually point to something specific. But once I realized/remembered that’s not how it works, I looked into the meaning of the card and the keywords and decided that my answer for this one is:
“whatever new habit I choose after weighing all the options and making an informed decision, will be the one that supports my spiritual growth.”
I would take the High Priestess’ attributes to be a liability in some cases.
Let go of the past moment where I decided it was safer to stay silent, unseen, or emotionally veiled. I cannot rely on intuition as protection, when it becomes a barrier to forward motion.
Dan…thank-you, that interpretation makes sense. Stop being silent, unseen, and emotionally veiled…HMMMMM In light of things around here (home) I am not quite sure what to do with this reading. Makes sense, though. Thank-you
The High Priestess centers on intuition, mystery, hidden knowledge, thresholds, and inner sovereignty. Intuition was what I locked onto - the others might be good to consider. We all see things differently.. which is what is cool about the cards.
