@peter3 I am in awe of what you’ve been able to create! You have a great collection here! Of the most recent, #92 and #100 are my favorites.
Is anyone here skilled at app making? I have 120 epithets now done and thought it would make an interesting little oracle app. Just a random image selector is all I was thinking. I know nothing of such things but if anyone is into doing such work, let me know. Thanks!
That would be a neat app!
I’m afraid I’ve never made an app before so can’t offer any tips- all I know is that there are guides and how to’s for everything under the sun, so maybe there’s a walkthrough on YouTube that could show you the ropes!
I have updated the file links, they should all now lead to the final version with 123 (edit: 126 actually) Hekate epithet images. Here’s the last one’s for this project.
102 - Nerteria “Infernal”
103 - Zatheos “Divine”
104 - Photoplex “Who Smites With Light”
105 - Thanategos “Death Bringer”
106 - Tymborychos “Grave Digger”
107 - Bolos “Far Thrower”
108 - Phoebe “Bright”
109 - Polyboteira “Generous Giver of Nourishment”
110 - Tripthoggos “Triple Voiced”
111 - Tartarouchos “Ruler of the Underworld”
112 - Pyripnos “Fire Breather” (image 31 says “Pyripnos” as well but it should be “Pyriboulos” meaning “Of Fiery Counsel”)
113 - Autophyes “Self Generating”
114 - Limenitikos “Harbor Goddess”
115 - Elaphebolos “Shooter of Deer”
116 - Oroboros “Tail Biter”
117 - Krokopeplos “Saffron Cloaked”
118 - Pantrophos “Who Feeds All”
119 - Nekyia "Mistress Of Corpses "
Trigger Warning: As the epithet says, there is a corpse in this one
If you want to see this one, you’ll have to check out the download
120 - Geneteira “Mother”
121 - Paggeneteira “Mother of All”
122 - Kalligeneia “Bearing Beautiful Offspring”
123 - Zerynthia “Of Mount Zerynthia” Zerynthia was a nature goddess epithet shared with Artemis. The “zerynthia” butterflies found throughout Europe have red, black, white, and saffron colored wings with sapphire colored “eye” spots. A nice Hekatean coloration. As caterpillars, they eat poisonous plants before undergoing their transformation to butterflies.
(Plus I added 3 more to the heap, 126 now )
And just in case I broke the other links:
This is a neat idea!
Something that could also work for an app would be adding tags for each of the images, and making them searchable by the tags, for spellwork and inspiration purposes
Thats a good idea thanks @CelestiaMoon ! I’m having enough trouble with setting up a simple blog for myself, I think I’m gonna go the the lazy guy route and hire some help Going to make better images as well, all this has gotten me thinking about getting back into making art again. I did get a masters degree in painting way back when, I should probably put it to use somehow, someway
Added a few more. Changed a few for better versions. Now that I kinda understand it a little, I’d like to do them all over but I’m spent on this for now. I have a new handy 138 page pdf with all of them that I put together but I need to check for typos and junk before I put it in the download. The 138 images are up though. Here’s a couple new ones and one old one I changed.
Damnemene “Means of Constraint”
Aionos “Eternal”
Agallomenen Elaphoisi “Rejoicing in Deer”
I have some experience with app making, but not sure if I have the time. If my list of things I’m working on thins at some point and you still haven’t gotten it made by then, I’ll let you know.
There are, but unless you already know how to code, they won’t be too useful.
Wah-wah
Some things can be solved with one YouTube educational video, but there are definitely other more complex things kick off a chain of videos and before you know it, you’re leaping from rabbit hole to another trying to find ground zero. Sounds like apps are in that category
Look at those wings! So colorful!
Love this one- and all of them! They are so much fun to see- thank you, Peter!
@peter3 I so look forward to seeing your art! I can’t wait to see what your next project is!
These are fabulous pictures
OK so there are now 150 images included in the download as well as an inventory list and a few short notes on a handful of images that I took the most liberty with in terms of symbolism and content. I will update the download to include the handy PDF of all of them later this evening (hopefully). I changed many of the original images for this version so there’s fewer “Medieval Glam Barbies” but it’s AI so there’s still a few plastic beauties in there for you.
Here’s a sample of one I updated/replaced:
Kleidophoros “Key Bearer”
And here’s one of the new ones:
Empousa “Vampire”
Had a few requests for a deck with these images. As these were generated with Bing Image Creator they can’t be used for commercial purposes but anyone wanting to can find the custom deck printers online and use the images to make your own. I found one that will print a single deck and in the square format so I’m going to eventually order one myself. I have updated the download to version 3.0 and it now includes a nice 150 page PDF with a black background for ease of use! I’ll likely update and expand from time to time at the download links so check it out if that’s your thing
Thank you! - Pete
Aoroboros “Eater of the Restless Dead” version 3.0
156 epithets are now included. Version 3.6 should be in all the links now.
Empyrios “Of The Fiery Realm Of Heaven”
Androphonos “Killer Of Men”
Not going to lie, makes me happy every time I see new Hekate portraits created and added to this thread!!!
Each one as beautiful and powerful as the next- these are all really amazing to see, Peter!
@peter3 These are fabulous pictures
And with one last updated image and a few new images the project is complete! Version 4.0 now has 165 Hecate epithets visualized using Image Creator. All the google download links are updated. Here’s a couple of the new portraits.
Hieros Pyr “Holy Fire”
Maera “Shining”
Melaine “Black”
Changed all three of those last post. They were boring. I’m in the process of up-scaling all the images for printing decks if anyone would like to make themselves a personal one. I’ll put them with the download in a few days. This project has been finished multiple times now and will likely continue to be completed several more times before it’s done, lol.
Version 4.5 is in the download now. Lots of updated images.
Hieros Pyr “Holy Fire”
Maera “Shining”
Melaine “Black”
I imagine that upscaling them all is a big process- you are very kind to share them, Peter! Thank you!
