Training wheels

Hello to all!

Brand new to the community, I have always been interested in magik and had experienced things as a kid. Did the classic dodge and run and ignored things most of my adult life. I want to get back into it and develop my forgotten skills and reconnect with the energies. On my training wheels and happy to learn!

Merry meet @Ryk and welcome!

My name is Kat, and I’ve been practicing the craft for over 30 years. My practice is rooted in a blend of nature magick, green magick, and elements of hedgecraft. I work closely with the natural world, drawing inspiration from plant spirits, animal spirits, and liminal spaces. My interests include herbalism, gardening, and divinatory practices like tarot, throwing bones, and Lenormand.

We’re glad to have you here. :purple_heart: Make yourself comfortable, explore, and feel free to ask questions!:herb: :bow_and_arrow: :acorn: :crescent_moon: :deer:

I appreciate the welcome! I have a million questions but don’t know where to start! I’ve lived a pretty isolated life so knowing where to start is the wall! I want to go 20 directions at once!

Welcome @Ryk ! It’s great to have you with us! I’m from Minnesota and have been practicing many aspects of the craft for 35+ years. I currently practice chaos magick, voodoo and divination.

You don’t need to go down just one path. But when starting out I recommend honing your skills in one before trying another. Like @Amethyst said the courses here will help get you started.

Ask questions anytime. Someone will always be able to help you.

Blessings :purple_heart::purple_heart::purple_heart:

Thank you! My ancestry comes from Scandinavian culture so I’m very drawn to this style and runes. Any suggestions on where to start would be great to further this knowledge

Hello @Ryk,

Welcome to the forum! I’m Bry, one of the moderators and an Eclectic Witch. Thanks for sharing your introduction, it’s very nice to meet you :blush:

Loving the enthusiasm! It sounds like you’re jumping in and having fun exploring - and I think that’s the most important part. It’s your practice, so have a blast and enjoy making it your own! :mage: :books:

If you ever find yourself with questions, feel free to stop by and give a shout in the Q&A category. There are a treasure trove of magickal resources on Spells8 and here in the forum, but I think the best resource of all is the coven community :infinite_roots:

Make yourself at home here, Ryk! Blessed be :sparkles:

Dan here. I’m new, too. Like you, I’ve been going several directions but found a couple of niches after a short while. Some things really mesh and others not yet. I didn’t consider candles but am now getting into them for meditation - which I certainly like and didn’t realize I would. Good luck with exploration… which is part of the fun for me.
