Love that! I like the idea of the small candle so you can see and hopefully feel the ‘letting go’
Thank you. Right back at you!
Hmm…
A lot of what holds me back right now is a lack of direction. I don’t have concrete goals with anything, so I don’t really have a specific drive, if that makes sense. This is just in general, but I need to take some time to write down some goals, figure it out, and make them concrete. Then it will give me direction! (now I just need to figure out what the heck I actually want…)
As for my practice, time usually tends to be a big thing holding me back where does it go, and where can I get more?
@georgia I’m so sorry I wish I could be with you
I love you and appreciate you more than you know
You can turn to us anytime for whatever you need. You can tell us anything and we’ll still love you!
If you need to talk to someone one one don’t hesitate to message me. I am a good listener.
Good plan! Please try to make it a priority! You need to take care of yourself! I’m going to rediscover my why and my motivation. I have goals and an action plan, but I can’t seem to get the ball rolling!
Speaking about this topic, I just came across this video on YouTube that has some really wonderful advice!
One of the most interesting things he says in the video is to treat yourself like a robot.
…treat yourself like a robot. Now what I mean by this is that if for example, you were programming a robot and it didn’t do what you intended it to do, you wouldn’t like flagellate the robot. You wouldn’t like beat it up. You wouldn’t like tell it - tell the robot it’s a terrible person. You would just think okay, the code didn’t work. You know, I programmed the system wrong. And when it comes to time management, focus, distraction, productivity - a lot of procrastination, alot of this stuff - we tend to have a lot of negative energy towards ourselves about it.
Like, "oh man, I’m such a freaking idiot. I didn’t go to the gym three times this week. Oh, oh why do I always do – why do I always procrastinate? Like it would be so counterproductive to say that kind of stuff to a robot if we thought it was a robot because it’s just the system that hasn’t worked. And so if we can treat ourselves like a robot in like a nice way, it means that when we struggle with something or when we fail to be intentional with how we’re managing our time or procrastinating or getting distracted or whatever, it means the solution to the problem is we just need to tweak the system…
In the spirit of being kind to myself, I think I’ll try and adopt this philosophy
That’s an interesting philosophy and good analogy too
That is not Hate, it’s the rekindling of that ember. Don’t let others take your light. We are here for you if that helps.
I like that reframing. I might have to try it with myself!
Thank you. I appreciate this.
Beautifully said and I agree fully
Only karma and heartbreak lie that way.
Me, too! I really enjoy his channel. He has some great videos with great advice!
My top things holding me back would include work, a 4 year old and exhaustion. I work in healthcare 6 days a week. Then go home to a house full of people including a 4 year old. I am constantly being interrupted and have very little “me” time. I do have an alter although most of my practicing gets done in front of the mirror in the bathroom, and even that isn’t always guaranteed privacy.
When I bought my house I had such large dreams and then my adult children each have fallen on hard times and have had to move back in for a bit (one of them with his girlfriend and 2 year old daughter). Hopefully soon they will have their own place again.
And then uncertainty holds me back sometimes. I haven’t mastered my art and I am still working on making it my own. One day I think a spell will work this way and then another day I will do the spell differently.
I am definitely a work in progress. I know I will get there one day and have as much confidence as I see others have here. I am grateful for this coven and for welcoming me as I am.
Wow! That is A LOT! And very overwhelming. There are ways we can sneak magick into our daily lives. I have little chants I say throughout the day. I’ll link that post. Mindfulness is a great way to connect to nature and the universe. It can be as simple as looking at a picture. You might be able to find a few minutes for prayer or deep breathing. In the car, in the bathroom, even if it’s only a minute. You can write a sigil on your arm. Write something on a piece of paper and keep it on you. Some suggestions. I’m sure there’s more, but this may help!
I somehow missed this comment I’m working on it! I think I’ve got a few goals and a potential direction I want to go…
I’ll put them here for accountability, I suppose
- Gain 1k followers on my crochet account
- Earn $1k a month from my crochet business
- Submit 3 audiobook auditions a week
Let’s go!
Awesome! You can do it!
Thank you so very much!!! I have bookmarked both of these! I really feel this will help me continue in a positive direction. I am ever grateful!
An update on my multi day Letting go spell work. There is still plenty of stuff to do and not enough hours in the day. But I’m feeling less dread towards it all and making a plan towards it, rather than putting my head in the sand and ignoring tasks altogether. I hoping the best for each of you. I’m going back to another needed task right now.
Yay! I’m so glad!
Great! I’m glad you found this helpful!
Sending you all the love and light in the world. My heart aches for you and I’m sorry for what you are going through. If you want to talk or get more into it and see if we can help my ears and heart are always open to you lovely
