That is really sweet and touching
Also being both highly tactile and empathetic, I can understand the power in these beautiful items
Challenge Entry
So probably a year or two ago, I bought an Evil Eye necklace and today, I just charged and activated it. I know I should have done it when I first got it, but I was just getting started with witchcraft, so I didn’t know where to start. But I hope things work out for my first spell.
@briyannah good morning! I moved your post into the Challenge thread.
Thats great that you charged & activated it! I’m sure everything will be great! It is a powerful necklace to have!
I still don’t know what I’m going to do for the challenge. This first thing is read the kindle book on amulets and talismans.
Last night I was thinking about it and remembered that I have a rosery that was given to me by my father in law. It belonged to his wife and she had passed away. I have necklaces and things on hooks in my bedroom and took the rosery down. The woman that it belonged to was my husband’s step mother, and she was an evil step mother. She ruined my husband and sister in law’s childhood and I don’t think it’s a good thing to have this rosery in our house. I don’t want to bury it on our property either. I’m thinking about going to the Brazos River and throwing it in.
Things seem to be lining up for me in one way or another with this challenge. I recently wrote an article for Spells8 about Hag Stones and then I found not one, but two hag stones at my sister’s house that she wasn’t keeping when she moved.
Hag stones have always fascinated me. I even had a dream once that I was at the beach in the ocean, combing the sandbar for shells, when I came across a hag stone. Do you know how disappointed I was to wake up and realize it was just a dream?! Anyway, I am now the proud companion of two hag stones.
The larger one is going to be a home protection charm hung over our front door. The smaller one will be a personal protection charm I carry around with me in my purse!
I haven’t quite decided exactly how to hang them. I know red has been traditionally used as a protective color. I keep going back to blue, though, because it reminds me of the stories that Celtic warriors would have tattoos and blue-tinted skin that scared their enemies. That whole thing is complicated and full of nuance, and the idea that Celtic warriors painted themselves with woad has been debunked. But blue seems like it might be right. I’ll have to think about it some more for sure!
Weekly Challenge Entry
I love this book!
Choose the object you want to convert and empower as a protection talisman. It could be a ring, pendant, bracelet, protective symbols, an heirloom received in the family, etc. For a protection talisman, you will need the help of these elements. Thus, on your sacred altar, you will need the following: A handful of salt representing earth, an incense stick representing air, a candle representing fire, cup of water for the water element. Sit in a comfortable position in your sacred space and focus on the task at hand. When you are ready, invoke the elements one by one.
Place your object on the salt and say these words aloud: “May the energy and power of the earth be absorbed by this crystal (or the object’s name). Just as the earth supports all life forms, may this talisman support and protect me.” Give it a couple of minutes for the earth’s energy to be absorbed into the object.
Next, move your object back and forth over the incense sticks saying these words aloud, “May this object absorb the power and energy of the air element. As air takes away bad elements and brings good elements, may this talisman keep out evil and attract the good into my life.” Again, wait for a couple of minutes so the talisman can absorb the energy from the air element.
When you are satisfied, hold the object over the heat of the flame and say the following words, “May this talisman absorb the power and energy of the fire element. Just as fire burns everything, may this talisman be empowered to burn the negative and harmful things in my life.” Give it a couple of minutes for the power of the fire to be completely absorbed.
Next, move to the water element. Immerse the object completely into the cup of water and say the following words, “May the power and energy of the water element be absorbed by the talisman. Just as water cradles, hides, and protects, may this talisman protect me from harm and evil.” Do not forget to wait for a few moments so that the talisman absorbs the transferred energy.
Now, hold the talisman, raise your hand to the sky, and say this prayer calling up the divine and higher beings to transfer their energy to your talisman, “I am the same energy as the Supreme Cosmic Being. We are united by the same energy and draw it from the same pool. With this power, I transfer my strength to you.” While saying this, blow onto the talisman.

Weekly Witchy Challenge for Amethyst
I ended up enchanting one of my favorite necklaces for protection this morning using my Fiery Wall of Protection oil and the magic of the full moon. I can almost feel the energy of it as it lies on my chest.
@MeganB wasn’t it the Picts that painted themselves blue? Are they part of the Celts? I know the gaelic and picts were not on speaking terms
I Love your Hag Stones by the way
I have been wearing different necklaces as talismans for my pagen path. First my clear quartz necklace and recently my Celtic moon I got at the ren faire. I usually just clense them with white sage and bless them from the Triple Goddess and the Lady Selene. So far it seems to work, just a simple spell for me.
Merry meet my dearest! I love this challenge! Because I have so much amulets/talismans. These are my everyday/go to amulets and talismans. For this challenge, I chose something I love to do. I charm my jewelry. My 2 most used pieces are my claddagh ring amd my opal ring.
I use the Spells8 enchantment ritual.
I never take off my claddagh and the opal, I take off for bed and showering. These rings are my little pieces of luck. I just got the opal ring for my birthday. The other, I had for about 4 years. I do have an 18k ring that stays in the family but I have it locked up with my grandparents jewelry.
P.S. dont mind my Rugrats pj’s as I was making this post at 2am. I love my cartoons!
I love your dragon! I have a labradorite dragon. I should’ve known you’d havve at least 1
