Clutter really can make it tough to concentrate. Tidying up your space in the name of clarity is an awesome intention to set - good for you!
When it comes to spiritual cleansing, I like this guide because it offers a few different methods you can mix and match with:
I personally like to cleanse with sound/music and open windows. The gentle sounds wash over everything and carry negativity away through the open space. Best of all, there’s no additional clean-up needed!
While there are a lot of great spells out there for cleansing, I actually can’t think of any off the top of my head to maintain a clean and clutter-free space. That being said, you could consider a wish box - set the intention of maintain a clean area and keep it in the box. Place the box on your altar or keep it by your workplace/station. Everytime you look at the box you’ll remember your intention.
A spell jar is a great way to keep magick maintained over a long period of time Here’s a guide to help you make a spell jar to suit various intentions (it’s customizable!) :
When you say a “magical boost”, what kind of energy are you hoping for? If it’s to power up your spiritual workings, I’d suggest filling the jar with herbs, crystals, symbols, and other ingredients that correspond with enhancing intuition, aiding spellwork, and opening the third eye chakra.
On the other hand, if you’re hoping for a boost of energy (perhaps to help you get things done), I’d suggest ingredients that correspond with focus, creativity, motivation, and success.
Feel free to give a shout if you’d like specific ingredient recommendations while you build your spell jar
You can play music that is on a certain frequency that clears out negativity from both you and your home. I love Awake Nation on YouTube myself, but there are other is you poke around. This might help you while you are clearing things out too!
You’ve gotten some great advice about cleansing already, so I’ll leave that one alone.
For this, I would create some sort of sigil or spell pouch (or jar) to keep in the area. I think doing a spell once won’t have the effect you want, unless you charm a piece of jewelry or something that you intend to keep on you or in the area.
I do have a few ideas for spells that could be useful, though you might have to adjust them a bit to fit what you need specifically.
→ Turn Chaos into Motivation! 🎉 – A sigil you can use to turn the chaotic energy of the space into motivation to keep it free of clutter.
If you’re crafty, you can create something like this to keep in the space. Choose colors that correspond with your intentions and hang it in the doorway. Mine was created with the intention of truth and positive energy, but you can adjust it in any way you need to.
I’m a cluttered mess so I can’t give anything for you that hasn’t been recommended but I think the idea of a wish box (@BryWisteria ) would be one of my first choices.
However, I live with my clutter peacefully. I work better when surrounded by all my junk. I usually clean when I need the space - such as when I start a new project that simply won’t fit in unless I move something. My SO freaks out if I do that anywhere but inside my workshop . She keeps the house and defends it from my slovenly butt. When people visit, she makes me lock the workshop.
Thank you so much for all your advice, this is exactly why I joined - I’m really enjoying myself here, and there’s so much to learn!
I am a cluttered person by nature, however I need to make space In my workroom for all the other bits and pieces which have escaped from my room and moved into the lounge. These little escapees have also multiplied!!!
I’ve given a lot of unwanted craft items to the primary school my boys went to. The rest is being sorted and put away so there’s space for the rest (once I’ve rounded them all up)
TBH everyone in the house is a bit messy butI need my workroom serviceable as I use it to create items to sell online.
I’m glad to hear this! That’s exactly what this community is for – I wish you all the luck in figuring out the clutter situation. Believe me - I’ve been there multiple times
