I like the ideas for New Years! I am going to be going through my closet & cleaning my room & cleansing. A New Year tea with a candle or group tarot reading would really special!
@Francisco I bet 2020 has taught us a lot too. If we all actually think about it, what we take for granted and what we were taught are in large quantities compared to other years. Its definitely been a long strange trip for 2020.
I look forward to seeing what we come up with for that Thursday.
I had the time and the will to do a chant this morning so I did it! I hope y’all like it. Feel free to edit it because I don’t worry about grammar when trying to rhyme. I just put commas where I want to stop and breathe. LOL.
It is the cusp of a New Year, filled with new possibilities.
May the Lord and Lady protect me and guide me through life’s hostilities.
Let this new year be blessed with health and prosperity,
And the Gods grant me a sound mind and clarity.
Give me a brand new start and let me leave behind what I don’t need.
And help me to plant the New Year’s seed.
Let me grow in mind, body, and soul,
and help me to throw away the old as midnight toll.
This I do say, and I decree!
An harm it none, so mote it be!
Hope it’s okay! Feel free, like I said, to edit it if you want. Or I could write something else. I just liked this.
Breathtaking, @Amethyst. Even better than I had hoped for- you always dazzle with your talent! Thank you so much for this lovely piece- I think it is already exactly what we need!
Grammar has its place in academic and technical pieces, but when it comes to poetry and chants-the most important thing by far is the emotion! And this gorgeous piece has such heart and warmth to it- I wouldn’t change a single letter, it’s perfect!
And ohhh if you decide to have Joy voice it, we can include a video link with the ritual for people to play while they light the candle!
This is wonderful! Great job @Amethyst! I haven’t been writing unless it’s in my journal or on a worksheet. I used to write all the time, but I don’t think it was anything like what you have done. Great job!
I came across the good luck cinnamon ritual for New Year’s Eve and included that along with @Amethyst’s gorgeous New Year’s Chant- but there is still an inclusion for tea too, of course!
I know everyone enjoys adding their own twists and additions to group rituals so I tried to leave it open to interpretation, but that being said- if anyone has other thoughts about the ritual please feel free to share!
I can’t wait to celebrate with you all in a group ritual next week. Gosh, I can’t believe 2021 is almost here!
Looks great to me! You did a good job of it. I like the cinnamon added. I’ve just got to figure out where to sprinkle it. Kelsey, one of my building managers, would not be appreciative of cinnamon in her clean hallway. LOL
I figured, but some butt of a person walked into the apartment building the other day with muddy shoes, just after she’d cleaned. She had to mop, clean the elevator, and vacuum up the mud upstairs. Again. I felt so sorry for her. Unfortunately the tracks didn’t lead to an apartment so she can’t get onto a person.
