Can I post photos?

Does anyone know how I can upload photos on the forum? Everytime I try, it just leaves a link, never the photo. And the link doesn’t work. Thank you!

Hello, CryzVee. I see that your new, so I want to introduce myself first. My screen name is Blatina, but you can call me Jenna. Haven’t picked out my witch name yet. Besides posting, I hope you are enjoying yourself. I’m not sure what type of phone you have, but the initial button should be the same for us.

If you see that button, that what you press first, then…

My phone is android, but you might see this option next and unless you want to take a picture, you press the one I circled to go to your album.

Good morning :sparkles:

Yes, you can absolutely upload photos! :pink_heart: Sometimes, if there isn’t a blank line between the image link and extra text, the forum does something funny and treats it link a link instead of an image.

We have a tutorial for uploading images here if you’d like to check it out! It goes through a few different ways to upload photos.

How to Add Pictures to Posts 📸 All the ways!

When you upload a photo, do you wait for the pic to finish uploading? Sometimes we all get excited and don’t want to wait. When you finish the process, a line will come up in the text saying the upload is in progress. We have to wait until the progress “bar” reaches 100% before the pic actually appears. Any little thing can interrupt the process. Hope this helps.

You’re very welcome! :pink_heart:

We have lots of tutorials scattered around the forum. You can find most of them with the forum-tutorial tag

Last thing. I am new to the group, but I could have sworn after the first 30 days-ish I received a notification that I could now post in the forum freely, instead of having to wait 5 minutes. I’m pretty sure I did that the last time I was on here chatting with some amazing people. However, just now, it gave me the same message again about having to wait the 5 minutes. I was trying to respond to the others who replied to my question. Is that how it’s supposed to be? Sorry, trying to figure things out :smiling_face:. Thanks again!

No need to apologize  The five-minute timer is something different than the new member post limit, and it is meant to be there.

You can read more about the topic timer here: Forum Update & Announcement : August 9, 2024 ☀ (topic timer)
But here is a short blip about it

Unlike instant messaging or chat rooms, our forum is designed to be a message board (Read about the difference between a chat room and a forum). In large message boards like the Spells8 Forum, many people within a community contribute, often over a longer period of time. Community members are spread out across time zones and schedules, meaning that conversations are enjoyed leisurely over days, weeks, or even months.

With such a large group exploring topics over a long period of time, it’s only natural that communications mirror their community. The hope with this timer is to help encourage both mindfulness and time to allow others a chance to share their voices, too.

If you want to reply to multiple people at once without the topic timer getting in the way, you can tag them or ‘copy quote’ what they wrote. And we have a tutorial for that, too
