Congratulations to @dan3 and @Greenbriar! Y’all are superstars! And hi to the new people! I hope you’re having a good time! :waving_hand:

Thank you, @BryWisteria, for doing this wonderful Newsletter! I appreciate your hard work!

I’ve been feeling like the Cat Distribution Center is calling me! I’m gonna get my stuff together and work towards getting a cat in October or so. I gave all of my old cat stuff away when he passed, so I have got to buy some stuff! I have no bowls, no toys, nothing! And I’m one to buy, like, every kind of weird lizard thing or spring for my cats.

Like, did you know there are little witchy mice for Halloween? And little bat toys! I even found Goth Cat Trees! Yeah, I’m getting ahead of myself. First, the basics. But toys!

Yeah, I’m bad.

I have an appointment with the ENT for the first time, if the office doesn’t wash away. We’ve had some terrible storms, with flooding and even a mudslide on the interstate! So yeah, I hope it stops soon, but it looks like it’ll be rainy off and on all week.

Other than me being a bit weirder than usual, nothing is going on with me! Have a good week, folks!

Yay! I love pets and love it more when we get a deserving cat or dog to become part of our family.

Congrats to @Greenbriar for the shout out for most likes. It really helps when someone recognizes our participation.

Thanks to @BryWisteria for another MMM! I love to hear what others are working on!

I found this PNR book that uses “The First Wives Club” as the motivation for “The First Witches Club” by Maisey Yates. The premise is not so unique but there are interesting discussions about three wives becoming witches and learning to cope with the destruction of their lives by jerk husbands. It has a strong thread of self-empowerment throughout and less emphasis on “Magick” -. A 4.3 rating on Amazon seems legit.

The SO had a med scare last week but subsequent CT scan and tests proved it was nothing. The call just went out an hour ago and everyone is quite happy about it all.

I hope everyone has a great start to their week like we did!

Welcome to everyone! We’re happy you decided to join us. Looking forward to seeing you around the forums.

Congrats to you two Superstars! Both of you on a two-week streak - yay!!

Thanks as always to @BryWisteria , for our weekly MMM’s! You do a great job keeping us informed of everything witchy. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Oh, this is wonderful to hear! It’s hard to transition to a new fur love, but since you’re feeling the call, it must be close to the right time. Have fun getting all new toys and and “weird lizard things” for the new family member to come! :smile:

Sounds like it has potential of entertaining you - and with a little Magick thrown in.

So happy that the med scare for your SO was a false alarm. That is a weight OFF!

Very little on tap for me this week. Finally caught up on laundry that I let pile up too long. Ugh. I have an idea for a new project that I’m letting percolate in the brain for a bit. Just getting sparked by a new project is nice this time of year, as the garden is winding down.

I am still getting visited by Monarchs every day, though the Swamp Milkweed isn’t blooming. They are munching on the coneflowers these days.

Wishing everyone a wonderful week! :heart:

Merry Meet! to all our new members and a very warm welcome to the Forum. Looking forward to reading all your introductions, posts and getting to know your interests.

Thank you to @BryWisteria for the latest news this week and all your hard work and imagination tea rituals and interesting posts you share.

Congratulations @dan :paintbrush:and @Greenbriar :heart: on your two week shout-outs. We are blessed to have you in our Coven

@Amethyst

That is exciting news will you be getting a kitten or one that needs rehoming. Whichever, I know that it will be loved and in time for Samhain that is wonderful. Please would you post a photograph. There are so many good things to buy I do tend to get carried away. The “Witchy Mice” sound great. Enjoy shopping and planning for your new arrival :grinning_face:

I have heard that there have been destructive storms. Good luck for your ENT appointment and a blessed week :waxing_crescent_moon::dotted_six_pointed_star::green_heart:

@dan3

Congratulations again. I have seen the Movie “ The First Wives Club” and thought Goldie Hawn, Diane Kenton and Bette Milder were prefect for the roles giving it some comedy. It would be great if they made a Film of “The First Witches Club” but with a further tweak a bit more magic is needed.

Great news about your CT scan result. Wishing you a much calmer week :waxing_crescent_moon::dotted_six_pointed_star::green_heart:

@Feathertip

I am intrigued to hear of your new project and your plans. Hope it fills you with joy planning the same.

Great to hear that the Monarch butterflies :butterfly: are keeping close.

Wishing you a relaxing week :waxing_crescent_moon::dotted_six_pointed_star::green_heart:

Short working week with Wednesday and Thursday off. Wednesday catch up with my best friend Dawn we are going for a coffee and then back to mine for my monthly beauty treatments and Thursday Dentist appointment I am having 10 porcelain veneers fitted to my upper teeth I am looking forward to it as I have had temporary ones for three weeks. Self-Care in lots of ways.

The weather has turned cooler and we are having showers good for my gardens. Hopefully we will get some dry periods as well as I do love being outside and my dogs can run around and play more.

Wishing everyone a peaceful, restful week :waxing_crescent_moon::dotted_six_pointed_star::green_heart:

I’m sure whatever cat I end up getting will be spoiled to bits. I’ve added like fifty things to my Amazon Wish List and found other stuff at PetSmart and Chewy! Of course, some of it’s for later, when it’s bigger. But I had to look!

Glad that the tests came back okay! Something like that is always worrying. Sending y’all good vibes!

It’s gonna be fun, I think! And the weird lizard thing is this toy you charge up with USB and it twitches and moves. I’m sure they’ll love it.

I hope it “brews” well! Good. Something. LOL! And yay for butterflies! They know you love them and are happy with you!

Oh don’t worry. There will be pictures. Lots of pictures. Of course, I’ve also found a special incense burner that sticks the stick down in, like a glass tube. So between that and some flameless candles, I won’t burn the poor thing’s whiskers off. And a clear box so I can keep crystals on my desk without them becoming toys. LOL!

Thanks, love! A lot of mudslides, but I’m safe where I’m at so that’s good. And the ENT place is off of a main road that’s fine so I should be okay.

Have fun with your friend, and sending you good vibes for the dentist! And yep, Fall is getting closer! Pumpkin Spice Lattes come back to Starbucks on August 25th! That’s like, the unofficial start of Fall now. :fallen_leaf:

I thought the movie was funny. The “First Witches Club” didn’t have as much humor (only light humor). It was mostly an affirmation based book. I liked it more for the gradual realization of the lead characters that they had to grow into their paths.

There were a LOT of passages about realizing what it meant to go against various dogmas and dealing with self doubt. There wasn’t any stark magic - a heroine pulling a heretofore unexplained magick spell to thwart a villain with laser eyes has happened in some books but not here … there are no DC comics villains.

I had a lot of familiar feelings about my own path as I read the book. Having said all that, the book did get slower in the middle while those issues were developed. I have given it a strong 4 rating.

That sounds good! I may have to add that to my list!

Merry Meet!

Congratulations! And thank you for your good work!

Thank you, @BryWisteria for your work on this weekly newsletter.

Adorable decor, even if I don’t have a cat!

Send that rain down here to the desert! I’ll take all you can send me. The Rio Grande River is still dry as a bone in town with just a trickle on Native lands. We need all we can get. Most of all, stay safe.

Sounds good.

Sending healthy energy! :green_heart:

Enjoy them as long as you can. May they have a safe trip to their winter home and return soon.

I would enjoy that!

Thank you for sharing!

I’m still trying to find balance on a Roomba! Nothin to hold onto! Too small to sit cross legged. At least there’s no cord to knock into people or get stuck in a tree! :electric_plug: Learning ice skating poses for when I cross the moon. :person_cartwheeling: :joy:

I’m a bit later than usual due to self care after a big week. :sleeping_face: Got a lot done along with the fun.

Deep philosophical day before yesterday. Spent yesterday doing rewrites of keeper pages and organizing paperwork. It felt good to push paper and pencils around for a couple days. I may be preparing for a rewrite at last!

The next three days, we will be having firemen in our apartments, checking alarms. Noisy. I’m leery of bathing during office hours because they have the keys to enter without permission, so the water table is safe from me, anyway. Reducing stress isn’t happening, though. Doc will not be pleased.

@Amethyst

Not long to wait a week today! I must admit I am boring when it comes to coffee I have a skinny flat white - I just like the taste of the coffee.

Great ideas have you thought of a name? Do you have a preference for a little girl or boy? I suppose until you know what will be available it will be difficult :waxing_crescent_moon::dotted_six_pointed_star::green_heart:

@dan3

It sounds like the book was good in places and a strong 4 is not bad. Thanks for sharing your analysis of it.

@BryWisteria

Yes you need a few Broomsticks on charge one for Witchy Weekly News in the Forum, Tea Group Ritual, Witch Challenge and the Spells8 News E-Mails. That is a lot of flying!!, Thank you for all that you do keeping us updated and giving so much of your time to us :waxing_crescent_moon::dotted_six_pointed_star::green_heart:

They will find toys… and not the ones you give. It is one reason I love pets. They bring their delightful personality to everything.

I always think of them starting a book of rules that I must learn. The book gets to be huge. You will have lots of amazing adventures in store!

Hey, everyone needs a little witchy mouse in their life! LOL!

I think Charleston got like 2 1/2 inches in an hour, so that might be bad all at once out in the desert.

I just like the smell. I’ll only drink it if it’s like half a cup of vanilla creamer in it. LOL! Not good for my sugar, so I’ve gone off of it, but sometimes I brew a pot just for the smell!

While I don’t really have a preference, I’d love a little black tom. I’ve always gotten along better with male cats for some reason. Who knows? As for names, Loki, of course, Smudge, Darcy, Westley, and Oberon. That last one I’m iffy about, because I’ve heard that cats hear their name better if it goes up an octave at the end. And Oberon doesn’t. I don’t want to call him Obbie either, because that leads to Iron Man flashbacks. But it all depends on their personality, really, and what they seem to like.

I wouldn’t mind an orange cat either. Oranges are lovely; they have, like, two brain cells, and they all get them on a timeshare, so they can be silly as heck! I haven’t got a good name for an orange kitty yet, though. Danny is all I can think of, and I’m not a big Danny Kaye fan. If he’s fast, I can call him Wally. That would be a good one.

You mean like this one? LOL! Yeah, I loved having a cat so I’m looking forward to it now that I made my mind up! Thank you!

You’re right about no bushes, but sometimes when the forum is full of new posts I think finding the MMM can kind of be like digging through the shrubbery! :deciduous_tree: :laughing:

Maybe they’ll learn how to better hold onto the rain they get out here, if we actually got enough rain to see the effects of what people are doing. So many of us are fighting the building of AI factories and the national fence out here just because of the lack of water. Well diggers along the border are being sued for water rights. :face_with_hand_over_mouth: It would serve them right to find out they can’t survive out here!

Perfect for dancing while you work! Hmmm. Maybe a scarecrow on the Roomba so we have a dancing partner… Though that brings up the jail break scene from Escape to Witch Mountain.

4 Likes

That would be ironic. They’re fighting data centers around here too. It seems like no one wants them, but the ones in charge are foisting them on us. Put them in your backyard then!
