šŸŖ† Weekly Witchy CHALLENGE - Taglocks & Tokens

Challenge Entry - Taglocks & Tokens

I have used taglocks in the past by putting a few of my hairs into spell jars to strengthen the positive bond of the intention to myself, however, for this challenge I decided to enchant a token and use a trigger spell to activate extra energy for strength and courage in times of need.

I was inspired by posts by MeganB and SilverBear.
Trigger Spells - How to Make & Use Them

Ritual for Strength and Courage

I recently purchased a bracelet of turquoise beads and golden chain with three charms in the shapes of a horseshoe, a 4 leaf clover, and an elephant with its trunk upraised. Obviously, the intentions of the crafter were Good Fortune and Protection, but I am taking it a step further by adding Strength and Courage. The elephant is known for its intelligence, wisdom, loyalty, longevity, and strength.

I will use my oak wand and a red candle for strength and courage, and will perform the spell during the waxing moon.
During the spell I will cleanse and consecrate the bracelet.
I will visualize a bright golden light surrounding me and filling me with a sense of inner strength and courage. I will say:
By the power within me, I am strong and courageous.
I face each obstacle with grace and determination.
I will hold the elephant charm and say:
I call forth the energy of Fire to energize me as I walk this path.
I bind this spell to my action and word.
When I touch the elephant charm and utter the word (my secret word),
I am surrounded with the energies of inner strength and courage
That allow me to face whatever challenges come my way.
As I will it, so mote it be!

I will bask in the feelings of empowerment and be ready for the dentist next week. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Aww thank you so much , I reached out to her this morning to see how she made out, :crossed_fingers:t4:she was successful. Also thank you very much in regard to my alter, I appreciated that a bunch. I try to change it up based on the season.

I enjoy your alter as well, and your creativity in your spell work.

Hope you’re having a great day and that your weekend was enjoyable.

Aww I don’t think it’s you, I think that some people like to take advantage of trusting and kindhearted people… Being aware of another persons mal intentions is a good thing but I honestly don’t think you are to blame for trusting family.

I’ve been reading ā€œPsychic Witch: A Metaphysical Guide to Meditation, Magick & Manifestation (Mat Auryn’s Psychic Witch Book 1)ā€

it give tips on how to strengthen your third eye, along with a verity of other things, I’m still working on the first activity so I haven’t gotten as far in the book as I want to but I feel like this might be helpful to you.

Your alter is really pretty :heart_eyes:I love the colors and set up, and I found your information on Hecate to be interesting and informative… Your work with the left hand deities is very intriguing and I give you a tremendous amount of credit for being so open and strong with it.

Lol  I’m a scaredie cat so I haven’t done much reading or research on the gods and goddesses you’ve mentioned, the deepest I’ve gone is finding out more about Hecate bc I feel like she is trying to get my attention.

This book is on my wishlist. Sounds like it’s worth taking the jump and buying. I’ve been going back and forth as to whether I want it or not.

I would take the jump , I’ve found it to be interesting and I like that it gives you exercises to follow.

However, if your iffy about it which I totally understand (I have a really hard time on pulling the trigger on the things I want) try the sample through kindle first, if you like what you read then go for it :slightly_smiling_face:.

OOo you are so sweet  This made me smile ear to ear. Thank you!!!

Thank you all, I appreciate the kind words
I spent some time this morning filing some rough spots and then painted a purple shimmer glaze on her which looks amazing on top of the gold sparkle clay! Unintentionally I got some of Turbo’s fur in the glaze  I suppose that might count as a taglock even though I was just going for a token.

Thank you!

I had unexpected free time and energy today so I decided to do my healing prayer to Bast for Turbo.

I modified the prayer found here to fit my situation.

Prayer for an Unwell Pet Cat

ā€œGreat Goddess Bast, protector of felines,
Hear my plea and come to my aid.
My beloved Turbo Kitty is unwell,
And I seek your divine healing touch.

You who guard and guide with grace,
Wrap Turbo Kitty in your loving embrace.
Banish anxiety, stress, and fear,
And let your healing light draw near.

With your strength, restore health anew,
Let Turbo Kitty be strong, calm and true.
Blessed Bast, I ask with a hopeful heart,
Keep Turbo Kitty safe and never apart.

Thank you, dear Bast, for hearing my prayer,
For your love and protection, always there
So mote it be.ā€

Short story (I lied, it’s not short) is Turbo Kitty is an anxious cat and it’s been getting worse recently with him overgrooming spots on his leg, drinking lots of water when he’s anxious, and throwing up a meal at least once a week. I took him to the vet last week and had lab tests done to make sure we weren’t missing something medical - he’s not diabetic, his thyroid is perfectly normal, there are no infections, nor any skin issues - no ringworm, no fleas. He had a clean bill of physical health. For which I am grateful.

Now to petition for divine assistance in addition to brainstorming ideas for routines to create for and with him to help ease his anxiety. It hurts my heart to know he has bad days especially because the good days are so good when a confident, playful, funny cat briefly shines radiantly.

I work with Hekate and am not a LHP practitioner. I am more of a white and green magick kinda gal :white_heart: :herb:  but Hekate does call to me, especially in the dark months of the year when I’m drawn to shadow work. I guess what I’m trying to say is don’t be afraid to research her or others. There are many ways to work with each deity and you can find ways that fit in your comfort zone and practice.

:sparkles: Challenge Entry :sparkles:
For this challenge I did the Prayer To Bast spell for my loved ones and myself, and I asked Her to bless my empath protection bag which I’ve put a few strands of my own hair inside, to connect the bag to me since its intended purpose is to protect me:

I also just finished making this healing poppet for my mother. I’ve stuffed the head with a lock of her hair, and rose petals in the rest of the body. I’m not skilled at hand sewing, so go easy on me, please :pink_heart:

(On a somewhat related note, I’ve decided to make a Notion blog about my Weekly Challenge entries, which you can view here :black_cat: :sparkles:)

So, the concept of a taglock isn’t as terrifying as the person in the video makes it out to be. Of course, this also depends on your personal beliefs in terms of energy, but I think the person in the video definitely made it sound more scary. I don’t think putting a taglock of yourself in a spell removes energy from you. For example, the taglock I used in the video @BryWisteria shared was my thumbprint. This is something that is specific to me because it identifies me physically but also energetically. The thumbprint just helps me tie the spell back to me personally and make it stronger.

I also don’t think taking a taglock of someone else takes their energy, nor does it make a pact or sacrifice with anyone or anything. Instead, a taglock is more of an energetic ā€œDNAā€, so to speak. We are all unique and so are our energetic signatures. Therefore, using a taglock of someone else doesn’t take anything from them besides their energetic signature, so to speak.

I think everything you’ve listed here is a great place to start with helping your friend! I would only do one at a time so you can give them time to work, but the taglock itself isn’t something that will cause harm or negativity. The taglock is something tied to spellwork, so breaking the spell and reversing it is what needs to be done. Then, the taglock isn’t anything to worry about.

She is beautiful! Oh my gosh, Artemisia, I love her!!

This totally counts

Oh, this is interesting! We do something similar with an eyelash. Take it and put it on the pointer finger and have someone else cover it with their pointer finger. Push together and make a wish (both people) and then when you pull away, whoever has the eyelash will have their wish come true.

For my challenge entry, I wanted to share a poppet spell I created a few years ago when I ran a membership on my website. I plan on re-doing it in the future and posting it on my site but I’m sharing it here, too!

Simple Self-Care Poppet

Because you deserve nice things!

I’ve really been focusing on my self-care lately, especially since my birthday has just passed and I’m really feeling it. I decided to create a simple self-care poppet that I can use to help me be a better version of myself. This poppet can be done with paper, fabric, felt, whatever you have on hand! I’ve provided a template that you can cut out and use for your poppet as well as some simple instructions for use. I will instruct as if you’re making it out of paper, but the instructions will work for almost any other material as well.

You will need…

  • 3 pieces of paper
  • Glue
  • A writing utensil

If you’re not using paper, adapt the needed materials to suit your poppet. For example, instead of paper and glue, you might use fabric with a needle and thread. You’ll still need at least 1 piece
of paper!

Start by creating a space in which you feel comfortable. Light your favorite candle or incense, play some of your favorite music – do what you’ve got to do to get in the mood of self-love and self-care. You might also cleanse your space and consecrate your materials before you get started.

On your piece of paper, write down several things you want to cultivate within yourself. These can be in the style of affirmations, simple words, or phrases that mean a lot to you. Write them in the present tense and, as you write them each down, picture what it will be like when it comes into your life. How will it feel? What will it look like? What will you do?

Here are just a few examples of phrases or affirmations you can include.

I am full of love for myself.
I care for myself mind, body, and spirit.
I cultivate peace within my thoughts.
I love myself as I am.

Set your statements to the side and get out your poppet material. Cut out your poppet materials. You’ll need two of the figures, one for the front and one for the back. Choose a place to begin closing up your poppet. It doesn’t matter where you start but close it up in a clockwise direction. Do not close it all the way.

Take your statements and place them inside your poppet before you close it completely. When you’re done, close your poppet completely. Keep this poppet with you or in a place where you will see it every day. Spend some time with it daily, give it offerings, hug it, and care for it the same way you would (or should!) care for yourself!

:hugs: thank you very much for sharing this I appreciate you and your input , and what your saying makes sense.

As I’ve gotten older I think I’m more of an Eclectic witch due to me being interested and working in a variety of things on a whole I feel like I’m a white, green Magick kind of lady as well that enjoys cottage and kitchen magic. I’ve been reading and looking into Hecate due to signs and other things that have been popping up, so your words of encouragement are warning.
