New-Moon-Spells

→ Sunday, September 21

This week we will be blessed by the presence of a New Moon. The exact time of the peak of this moon phase will depend on your location :telescope:

While many witches see the New Moon as a time of rest and reflection, others choose to cast magick spells specific to this phase of the moon cycle.

You can learn more about the symbolism, traditions, and best-suited spellwork for this moon phase in the New Moon Rituals Guide :new_moon:

[ [ Astrological Event: Solar Eclipse :black_circle: ] ]

Eclipse-Magic-Spell-Ritual-750x500

→ Sunday, September 21

The skies will grow dark in some places as the New Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, blocking light and causing the Sun to fade from view - this is a Solar Eclipse, an exciting time with unique effects on spellwork. The time and visibility of the eclipse will depend on your location :map:

While some choose to abstain from magick during the eclipse, others find this to be an interesting time for eclipse magick. To learn more and hear about everyone’s thoughts and experiences, visit the eclipse tag for relevant discussions.

Additional eclipse information and suggested spellwork can be found in the Working With Eclipse Energies: How to Manifest During an Eclipse Guide .

Whoo! @Feathertip! You’re on a streak! Congratulations! And yay for streaking now before it gets cold!

I am about to go to the doctor again. I have another appointment tomorrow, and then I’ll be free from the two appointments for a while. Not doing much this week other than trying to be ready to undecorate on the weekend. I’m doing that as part of my Mabon rites, taking down the Summer things and making way for Fall.

Looking forward to the Halloween season like crazy this year. I’ve got plans to decorate, and I have some fun and colorful recipes this year. Slime green popcorn and various Monster cookies, things like that. It’ll be fun! Plus, I’ve found two new Soul Cake recipes, so yeah. I’ve got normal stuff too!

So that’s what I’ll be doing this week. Waiting and planning. I feel like Linus waiting for the Great Pumpkin! LOL!

Hope everyone else has a great week!

Way to go @Feathertip! Your vacation recharge helped all of us! Thanks!

@BryWisteria - Love your thoroughness with these weekly updates!

As soon as I finish my morning ritual (coffee, coffee, cursing because I got a cramp that woke me up, coffee…) I’m off to do a little shopping.

Great job @Feathertip ! Thank you for everything!

Albus says hello everybody!

This may be wishful thinking, but I hope cleaning is winding down at last. I’m finally able to smell cleansers and cooking over the previous renter’s dog and other mess. I’m just trying to avoid pest infestation at this point: the kitchen was coated with American jelly, and I couldn’t see it until I sprayed the cupboards with disinfectant. Still scrubbing the patio of dog mess and other dirt, disinfecting closets and vents, but I’m so tired! It’s been two weeks already! Will it ever be done? Everywhere I look, there is more dirt, more dirt, and more dirt. Did anyone ever clean anything?

I usually say the new apartment reflects the work I’ve done and reaps a harvest. Not this time! I’m so embarrassed! Good thing I don’t know anyone to invite over. Good thing walls can’t talk.

Ethyl, don’t look!

Thanks. I needed that laugh.

Have a good week, everyone!

@BryWisteria @Amethyst @dan3 @georgia - thank you all! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

See, you say that like it bothers me.

Ugh, I know you’re ready to be done with your appointments- trust me, I know the feeling! It will feel glorious to have those OFF your calendar.

Heehee! It’s such a glorious time of year, isn’t it?

You know, I didn’t think about that, but you may be on to something!

I hope that cramp goes away. Happy shopping!

@georgia: Hello back, Arbus! :heart:

 That’s the nastiest thing I’ve ever heard - who decided that place was move-in ready? You poor thing, having to tackle all that in addition to regular moving chores. No wonder you’re tired!

I hope you’re soon able to step back and have it dtart to look and feel like home. You waited a long time for it and should be able to relax without constant scrubbing. Good luck!!

This week we’ll be without the car for a days. Right before our glorious vacation, of course the sump pump quit working and the car started leaking radiator coolant. We had time to get a new sump pump installed but are only now able to take the car in.

I’m making menus for the week and heading to the store to get everything. Car goes in tomorrow. Fingers crossed it’s nothing major. :crossed_fingers:

Other than that, we’re enjoying the extended summer weather around here. Sunny, not too hot, and I’m slowly clearing out the garden. My butterfly friends have long gone (sniffle) but there are still hummingbirds at the feeder.

I wish everyone a great week! :sparkles: :feather:

Long ago my boss and I ran a lot (part of our job) and he would lament that in a few years he would look like an Amoeba if he tried to streak. That would be me today. Anyone who saw me would need trauma counseling.

I’m so excited, I hope to participate in Thoughtful Thursday and the group ritual - I haven’t done one here in so long! I can’t wait to see what the theme will be. :sparkles: :hot_beverage:

Also Monday is Hobbit Day! I love Hobbits, my husband and children say I am one lol. I plan on making tater soup and homemade bread. :bread: :potato:

Meanwhile this week I am working on finishing a crochet shawl for my daughter and I’m also swatching some new yarn for some Christmas gift socks. :socks: :yarn:

Teddy says good morning! (From behind lol, he’s bird watching currently)

Congratulations on the double shout-out and a two-week streak! :tada: Thank you for everything you do and share that make this forum a better place.

I’m already behind  and only have a few minutes break for lunch before I have to get back to non-stop cleaning that started at 6am (it’s 2pm now  )

I have, well, had a few things scheduled this week but who knows :woman_shrugging:

Hoping everyone has a wonderful start to their week!

Thank you, lovely - hope you get caught up on that cleaning!

He does look very engaged at this moment! :joy: I hope you’re having a beautiful day together! :feather:

Weeee :tada: It’s Monday!

I had my first exam this morning (I did great - 91%) – lecture and content aren’t slowing down, though, and that’s to be expected. We’re jumping right into the next session and subject, and I’m just plugging along and doing my best!

@Amethyst – I know you’ll be glad for those appointments to be over. I will, too! You deserve a break from the doctor mess, for sure.

@georgia – I’m with Feathertip :pink_heart: It blows my mind that they let you move into a place that doesn’t seem move-in ready! I hope you get a chance to rest and that the cleaning adventure is over soon.

@Feathertip – I hope the car gets fixed quickly and easily! :sparkles:

@Melora_Fae – Aww, what a cute picture! Have fun with your crochet and socks!

@Artemisia – I hope you get to keep the plans you’ve made, but I’m sorry you’ve been cleaning that long! That’s such a long time to be cleaning  I hope you’re done soon!

Woo hoo, @MeganB - congrats on the great grade! :fireworks: You talked about studying over the weekend and I knew you had it! Yay!!

You get an hour to celebrate and then it’s on to the next one! :student:

The car goes in tomorrow afternoon and we hope by Wednesday to hear something. bah! Nothing says ā€œvacation is overā€ like a car repair bill! lol

I hope the cramping didn’t bother your shopping!

Boogedy-boogedy!

Wow. What a mess you had to clean. Do you get any discount for cleaning all that? That would make me feel better if it were me.

I wouldn’t like running in the cold, I don’t think, no matter what the dress. Then again, I don’t run. At all. LOL!

YES! It feels so weird to have to go out twice in a week.

Here’s hoping it’s a quick and easy fix!

Same here! Especially since I’ve lost weight and certain things are flapping more than usual. If I don’t hit myself in the head, I might hit a bystander with them!

Yay! Congratulations! That’s awesome! Here’s to hoping the next one will be just as good!

Most of these appointments are just yearly or six-month appointments. They just showed up all in one month for once. Blah.

Yes! Whhhooot!

Thank you! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I’ve been trying really hard, so it’s nice to have that effort pay off!

Thank you! :pink_heart: I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon lol on to the next!

Thank youu!!

After spraying down the vents and pantry, I went out to the mountains for a picnic. When I got home, the place still smelled of sewage, but it also smelled of disinfectant, so I am making progress.

My cousin used to use his fist and rub it on his forehead. ā€œErase, erase, erase.ā€

Not working!

Hi Teddy!

Excellent! Congrats! Keep up the good work!

May the bill be low so the vacation is rescued!

Wow! That would be nice! From your lips to the deities ears!

If you don’t run, it isn’t streaking, just indecent exposure- like the girl on the billboard wearing nothing but a smile and a towel… (I don’t run anymore, either)

Reminds me of a comedian from the ā€˜80s whose jogging suit reminded him of a circus tent. He ran just a little ways, hit himself in the face with his flab, and awoke with a great red kiss mark on his forehead!

Congratulations @Feathertip! That vacation was definitely a good thing!

@georgia gosh Im so sorry you are having to deal with that. I just can’t believe the apartment manager signed off on that apartment being move in ready. The whole place sounds like a disaster. I know you were so desperate to find somewhere, I feel like they took advantage of you.

@MeganB congrats on doing well in your exam. That’s awesome.

Congratulations @Feathertip on your two week streak!!! Sorry about your car breaking down.

@georgia sending good vibes your way on the cleanup. I never knew how nasty people could be until I managed an apartment complex for 3 years.

Congratulations @MeganB on your exam! You are going to make a great nurse!

Today I’m decorating my Mabon altar. I can’t believe how fast this year has flown!

I hope everyone has a beautiful, magickal week!:magic_wand: :sparkles:

You could always ask. Asking is for free. If they say no, you’re no worse off than you are now.

Huh. Good point! Maybe if I got a bumper sticker or something that advertises a company to stick over the important bits? Would that make me the billboard, or art?
