Merry meet!

Thank you once again to all those who joined in for last week’s Weekly Witchy Challenge - Simmer Pots :stew:

As Halloween and the Sabbat draw near, it seems like the whole world wants to be witchy. Stores are full of spooky season decorations and the media is full of magick. But no one does witching better than the witches themselves! :witch_moon:

So bring out your wonderful witchyness this week, because the theme for this challenge is…

Witch Aesthetic

:skull: :dressed_candle: Your Witchy Aesthetic :magic_shield: :potted_plant:

Pagan decorations, magickal clothing, haunted houseware, and more-
It’s your chance to show off your witchy aesthetic this week!

Do you like to keep Halloween decorations out year-round? Perhaps you’re a Green Witch who turned your home into a greenhouse. Maybe you’re a magickal crafter who has bedazzled your space with your beautiful wares, or perhaps you’re a jewelry enthusiast with a collection of enchanted jewelry.

Whatever type(s) of magick you practice, you’ve probably found some creative ways to express yourself and your unique practice. This may be anything from the clothes and accessories you wear, to your home or sacred space decorations, to the crafts you make, etc.

However you like to express your witchy aesthetic - it’s time to show it off with pride this week! :mage: :two_hearts:

Challenge Entry - Witch Aesthetics

This was an easier entry for me mostly because I don’t dress witchy as I’m pretty low key with my clothes and accessories. I occasionally wear a crow and triple moon pendant but haven’t since I made a silver one from Donut’s paw after he passed.

However, my office is adorned by my collection of goodies—seeds, leaves, flowers, feathers, books, cards, plants, statues, and more.

My plant shelf with terrariums, orchids, pothos, and philodendrons

I also have a bookcase that holds my herbalism, crystal, tarot, and craft tomes.

My altar is in the livingroom and I often change my decorations but the skulls remain all year round. This is my Samhain alter table just finished decorating this today.

I also wear a pentagram.

CHALLENGE ENTRY

I used canva to make a “mood collage” that represents my magickal aesthetic.

Central to it are my 3 primary Egyptian deities Osiris, Isis and Horus. The ankh is the symbol of protection and eternal life that I wear around my neck.

In front of them is a bowl of salt. This represents the natron that sits in my altar to provide cleansing and purification.

The incense sticks represent the offerings I make to them daily but also my enjoyment of making my own incense and discussed blends.

The reeds at each end represent the river reeds that are in a vase on my altar, albeit artificial ones while the feathers represent the principals of Ma’at that I aim to follow. The candles represent those that burn daily on my altar as a guiding light but also in memory to my passed loved ones. The symmetrical placement of these objects is in references for my love of order and symmetry.

The tarot cards at the bottom represent my collection of tarot and orcale cards that fill my shelves and that provide me with guidance.

The background shows the planet, representing my love of the cosmos and the astronomy books that line my shelves. The the zodiac wheel links this to my love of astrology and it’s importance in my practice. Finally, the numbers represent my mathematical mind but also my enjoyment of numerology, which I link to planetary energy through magick number squares.

I did a couple of mood boards too:

All 3 made using canva. All images from canva gallery

This extends into my living space. Here is my altar:

My go to chair. My “throne” lol.

My bookshelves and my mini altar to my brother and grandparents

And my general “magickal” living room

I love nothing more than candles and incense on a cold dark night.:smiling_face: cosy!

Blessed be

Alan

My witch aesthetic is pretty weird as I feel it changes with the seasons or sth xD From the one hand I am attracted to everyting glittery, sparkly and iridesent, especially in the spring/summer when I have more chances to work with water and the sea. In the autumn/winter time I lean to express in a romantic goth way, when I work more with fire. I don’t know if that is because astrologicaly I am Fire and water or because of my dieties :ok_woman:t2: Currently my house has both of them :joy_cat:

Made using canva, all images are from pinterest

Weekly Witchy challenge Entry - With Aesthetics. For this entry, I made a mood board in canva. The little girl is me when I was about six. I wanted to be a fortune teller and that’s how I thought one looked  I don’t know how it got in my little head to want that. But it always kind of stuck with me, and many decades later, divination is a big interest area for me.

This is my entry

I made a spell crystal ball crystal :crystal_ball: (glass storage)

I put something of mine either a string of my hair or picture of me at the bottom, then I add what I’m trying to attract and spells I cast with candles I put them candle nubs in it to. It my way of casting spells on my self and it’s always active no matter where I go
