Wow!!! Congratulations @Feathertip you“re a rockstar!! :star_struck:

Thank you @BryWisteria for mentioning and linking the Tarot Journey! I“m currently working on the tarot journey for March and with some contributions from @leilani1 this is going to be a fun and interesting challenge far off the beaten tracks!

IĀ“m battling a migraine today…not sure yet who is going to win. Hopefully IĀ“ll find some time and energy to do some art, because everything is better with some paint on my hands.

Morning Katharina,

Sorry about the migraine, my husbands family has them often, but I do not have experience. Only severe headaches when a seizure is coming on. I actually lie on the floor in a fetal position and scoot around in a circle because of the intense pain in my head. Absolutely unbelieveable!!! I really feel for you. Does a warm tea, or bath help?

Keeping you in my oblations, my tarot teammate!!! Lady Gene :divination_crystal_ball: :turtle:

Oh, well. It runs in my family and IĀ“m having them since childhood. I always thought of it as ā€œnormalā€ until a doctor labelled it as ā€œchronical illnessā€ and that shifted my perspective a bit.
I have to say though, that since I“m in menopause the attacks hit me less often.

You poor thing, this sounds unbearable! :broken_heart:

@katharina - You are doing fabulously with the Tarot area. Thanks so much!

@leilani1 - Thanks for helping in the Tarot area!

To both of you, migraines are horrible - I don’t have them but I have physical friends who do and it sucks. Sending comfort your way.

@Feathertip - Whoot! You are the star! Well done on most posts and likes.

I’m padded up and in my lounge chair for a few days due to another back strain but this happens to me frequently enough that it isn’t a worry - just a nuisance. The SO has to do everything - she is my champion.

My ongoing obsession with cards is even more apparent when I can’t move around much. I’m seeing them in my imagination when watching TV. It is a fun but weird obsession!

Tell a Fairy Tale day is Thursday… I have plans!

Last but certainly not least, Thanks to @BryWisteria for providing the Witchy News of the Week. Such a great opportunity to see what the Coven is doing!

Merry Monday again, Katharina,

 Menopause!!! Doctors said it should only be a couple years, but it’s over a decade now, and I guess this is my life from now on. HOT FLASHES!!! I get them so bad, about 3-5 times a day, maybe more. I’ll be sitting, it’s winter, so it’s cold, wearing my long-sleeves, of even a t-shirt if I’m too hot, when suddenly, I literally start dripping from my head! Got woken up again last night (twice) with my head and pillow wet and my face dripping. I’m not gonna take meds, so I found a natural option. Did you know that many Asian women do NOT have hot flashes? Part of what is in Tofu, mimics the estrogen in women, and helps prevent hot flashes. I assume this is a buildup of eating tofu lifelong. I like tofu, but do not eat it enough (I’m 60 now, so I do not have the ā€œchemicalā€ store that daily tofu would have given me.) So, back to natural. Black Cohosh!!! AWESOME!!! I take two capsules in the morning and again 2 in the evening. On really HOT days, I will take 2 more in the middle of the day, and sometimes 3 capsules before bed. I may still sweat, but not as bad. I DO notice if I forgot to take it before bed, because it will be a HOT, HOT night for me. When this first started, (this bad), my temperature would rise up to 5 degrees in less than 3 minutes. I would start pacing the room, and begin crying. Why? Don’t know about crying…this just a big imbalance in the hormones. That is when I found Black Cohosh, because the doctor wanted to put me on pills. I’m thinking, women have dealt with this for eons, I do not need modern chemicals to get through this. I am very adamant about chemicals (medications), not going into MY body. However, I do take heart med (already had 3 heart attacks) and thyroid med. I can live without the thyroid med (not very easily, but doable) but I will probably be dead within a month (if not a week) without my heart med. That I will continue to take. (heart-attack goes back at least 4 generations [the men] and being a woman, doctors refused to listen to my complaints). My g-grandfather died of a heart attack at 35, my grandfather died of his 10th attack at 58, I’ve already had 3 before age 40. So, yeah, I will take this stupid chemical. But, no Magnanimous efforts to save me. Hence, the coma, do not want operations, if it’s my time to leave, I accept that. Husband told me that he did NOT consider ā€œpulling the plugā€. I always decided that if someone was in a coma 2 weeks to a month, let ā€˜em go. I was only about a week.

Well, there’s my ā€œsoapboxā€ - rant for this morning. Lady Gene :divination_crystal_ball: :turtle:

Congratulations, @Feathertip! You got the special badge, and you’re streaking! Good for you!

Sending you healing energy so you can win the battle, dear heart!

Sorry to hear your back is bugging you. Kudos to your SO for being brilliant!

Well, my plans for today were buried in snow and ice. I was going to the doctor, but now I’m not. So I may dust and get my desk ready for Spring. Despite the snow and cold outside.

Stay safe and cozy everyone!

Amethyst,

Isn’t this a few visits to the doctor that you had to reschedule? I hope you will be able to get these visits taken care of. Lady Gene :divination_crystal_ball: :turtle:

Dan, sounds so comfy curled up in the chair (aside from the back pain). Can you ā€œplayā€ with your cards while in the lounger? Sometimes, I just get the feeling for a ā€œreadā€ and will sit on the floor and work with my cards. Lady Gene :divination_crystal_ball:

Yeah, but I’m mostly healed, so it’s no problem right now. It’s not worth going out there and wrecking. Plus, my driver was coming from an area that they’d have to go over Sandstone Mountain. It’s a big hill, and many a wreck has already happened there. Nope, not gonna risk it.

You are discovering my sneaky secret. If I like a deck, I digitize it - so I just have to bang on the keyboard.

Poor girl - I’m sorry for both you and @leilani1 for having chronic migraines - not a lot you can do but drug up and ride them out. It sucks!! I hope you feel better soon - I agree, art makes everything better! :artist_palette: :hugs:

Thank you for calling me a rock star, though I’m one of those older ones whose voice now cracks and I’m likely to fall off the stage. :joy: You’re a sweetie!

Ugh, sorry you’re going through another back strain! This is something I’m very familiar with, though it’s not occasional strain but actual spinal issues that are age-related (read: no one can really do much to help). I’m glad you have your cards and that fabulous imagination of yours to keep you entertained!

Oh, I’ve not heard of this - and I can’t wait to see what you’re going to do!

Gah - not again!! We;;, I’m glad you’re mostly healed and these are more basic followups, so you’re not missing anything critical now. I think you’re smart to stay home and also help the driver out by letting them not have to bypass a big wreck.

Have fun getting that Spring cleaning done - we gotta believe that it’s going to happen, right??

No real plans for me this week - a visit to finalize the taxes on Thursday, but that shouldn’t take long. Here’s hoping we don’t owe and maybe even get something back.

On Saturday, I bought us tickets to a play at a local theater - I love live performances so much more than movies. We’re seeing Agatha Christie’s ā€œMurder On the Orient Express,ā€ and we’re having dinner before hand, so it’s an actual rare night out! Look at me, getting off my butt - woot!

Thank you all for being such fabulous friends and amazing witches! :witch_moon: Thank you, @BryWisteria for everything you do for us, and for the shiny new badge!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week! :sparkling_heart: :dizzy: :sunflower:

Good Job! You’ll be in the Hall of Fame, soon!

I thought of you last night when I found a new to me tale of Puss in Boots by The Resurrctionists on YouTube. They mentioned Kitsune.

Thank you for the herbals, @leilani1! When I went through mine, I fogged up restaurant windows, but mine was relatively mild. Yours will calm, eventually. However, I have been hearing lately that menopause is not just a once in a lifetime experience. I hope for the best for you and all in the midst of it.

May your cloudy weather and closed blinds offer you comfort. Does soft music help at all? If Albus was there, he would try to pull your attention away from the pain, try to get you to giggle a bit. Drink as much water as you can to avoid making it worse or longer.

Have your doctors given you exercises to help strengthen your back muscles? I used to get some nasty sprains, too, before physical therapy. May your back relax and feel better soon.

Sounds fun! May your dinner date flow smoothly!

This should be a quiet week for me. Planning on reorganizing movies I have collected over time- Broadway musicals and Depression era songs of hope. Remember: ā€œIf you’re up to your neck in hot water, be like the kettle and sing.ā€- a song from the movie We’ll Be Together Again.

Me too! I’d be more insistent on going out if it were otherwise.

I haven’t really decorated for Spring yet, I’ve just taken down my Jan/Feb stuff, and I’m cleaning. That way, I can start decorating this weekend! When it’s March!

WOWZA! That’s sounds like so much fun! Good luck with the taxes, and remember, the butler did it!

Got it - look out for the butler on the train!

(Actually…I do already know whodunit, but it’s still going to be fun!)

I can totally relate to this! Sometimes, when something happens in my life, IĀ“m thinking: ā€œYeah, this is exactly what such-and-such card talks about.ā€

No. As far as I know it“s a good decade, sometimes longer. I honestly don“t suffer a lot of heat flashes though and as mentioned, my migraines are a lot less heavy.

Yes, I think these are called phyto-oestrogen. Fun fact: they are also in beer, which is why older men who have lower testosterone levels grow breasts. And did you know that in celtic and gemanic tribes it was women brewing beer? And it was consumed warm and with bred; it was a very nourishing meal and especially for women to balance out their hormones.

I hear you, Love. And I don“t want to talk you into something here, but medications are not the devil. I“m very grateful that we have access to medication; I“m keeping my adhd medication and all my vitamins and supplements on my altar and bless them.

Thank you, Love! It“s much better today and I“ll be going back to work.

How does this go? As long as the Rolling Stones are still going on tour, everyone else is just a boy-band.

Thank you so much, Dan!! :purple_heart:

That“s no fun either! I hope you“ll be better, soon.

Oh, this is going to be amazing, I“m sure! :purple_heart:

Wait…what? YouĀ“re right…this weekend March starts. Hurray!!
I“m going to be busy cleaning and decorating my Ostara altar. Also, I“ve ordered some new candle molds for spring and Ostara and I“m so looking forward to candle making.
IĀ“m invited to a small local arts and crafts market in April, and IĀ“m going to sell candles and soaps there. It’s a charity event to raise funds for an animal shelter and IĀ“m sure itĀ“s going to be fun!

Agatha Christie stuff is almost always good, even if you know who did it.

Oh, good! I’m glad!

My driver and I have noticed a bit of a pattern. One part of the body is freezing cold while another part is sweating. This seems to mean the flashes are going away.

Good luck!

That is soooo what’s happening. My hands, arms, feet, will be freezing cold (can’t touch anyone) but my head, underarms and back are dripping. Even as I’m typing this, my underarms are on fire, but my feet and hands are ice.:face_with_spiral_eyes: Lady Gene

Thank you @BryWisteria for this great round up of all the activities here on Spells8!

Congratulations to @Feathertip for your shout-out streak! Such awesomeness!!

@katharina sorry to hear about your migraine. I used to get them - they are no fun at all. When I was getting them, I was pretty much living on coffee and cigarettes (not a good time of my life) Now I don’t smoke or drink coffee, and I don’t get migraines either - causal or coincidence? Not sure, but I thank the Goddess I no longer have to deal with them, for whatever reason. I hope you find some relief soon. Sending healing energies across the ocean.

@leilani1 keeping you in my thoughts and prayers dear sister.

OMG @dan3 what have you done to yourself?? Your secret is out! I can absolutely imagine you curled up in the recliner tapping away on your keyboard. Love the visual you provided!

@Amethyst Sorry to hear you had to reschedule your appointment. Very wise not to risk going out in that weather though. Could the visit be done via video call perhaps or does it have to be in-person?

@Feathertip what fun to be going to see live theater. I don’t recall the last time I saw a play on stage.

Not much planned here for this week. I have an appointment at the optometrist tomorrow, and will probably spend way too much on new glasses. Eric is resting and feeling better. He’ s got a follow up appoinment scheduled for next week.
