I’m trying to get my bearings again

TMI you can skip

after being grossly misdiagnosed, having unnecessary tests, and being pushed towards a completely inappropriate surgery. I’m immensely grateful for having in-house expertise to review scans and realize how wrong the diagnosis was. I can’t imagine if I didn’t have this resource - going through more tests and a surgical removal of an organ that wasn’t needed…[

Sorry, still mad about this.

Other than that, I’m trying to catch up on both things I don’t want to do but have to, and things that I want to do but put off while my focus was elsewhere.

We’re on day 3 of 4, I think, being stuck under the heat dome with extreme heat and humidity. Reading an actual book for the first time in forever - The Book of Joy by the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu. I stumbled across the companion film on YouTube and was entranced by the endearing and compelling relationship between this unlikely pair.

So I’m looking for the joy in each day this week to keep going. :pink_heart:

Thank you, @BryWisteria, I am surprised and humbled.

Congrats to @Mystique for her shout-out! You’re beautiful!

Thank you, lovely.

Nope, it’s not TMI at all. You’re a human being who was needlessly poked and prodded- and let’s not trivialize the mental drain and fatigue from the stress. (Sorry to go off - I was in health-care management for a couple of decades and this kind of thing just infuriates me.)

I’m so glad that nightmare is in the rear view mirror now, and you can regain your footing. Reading anything by the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu sounds like balm for your soul!

We are also experiencing high humidity, the last few days and extending into this week. Nasty! At least the air temps have come down a bit, but all my garden time is spent early in the day. Then I hide indoors like everyone else.

I may do a blend of a protection spell for the little Monarch chrysalis with something for Lammas. Haven’t quite cobbled it together yet.

Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead! :feather:

Congratulations to @Feathertip and @Mystique for making this forum such a wonderful, caring and sharing place.

@Artemisia I’m so sorry you had to go through all those tests and worry needlessly. But happy to hear that the error has been brought to light before they actually did surgery!

Sending peaceful, calming energies your way

Congratulations, @Feathertip and @Mystique! You are shooting stars! :dizzy:

I don’t blame you! I’d freaking sue, that is so freaking wrong!

Urgh. I hope it cools down for you soon!

Wow. That’s got some impressive authors at least! I hope it does bring you joy!

Not doing much this week, but trying to figure out what I’m doing for the Sabbat, and doing my apartment recertification this week. Which is fun as always.

I had to order computer ink, and I think I may have to sell a kidney now. I made the mistake of buying an affordable copier without researching how much the ink would cost. I can’t do refillable inks with this one. Oh well, I’ll have to buy better next time.

But yeah, figuring out what to do for the Sabbat. There’s a lot out there for the other holidays, but Lughnasadh isn’t. I guess where it’s not a bit secular holiday to go with it.

Anyhow, hope y’all have a good week!

Don’t feel too bad, sweetie - the ink replacement cartridges are how these companies make money now! They’ll discount the price of printers, copiers, etc., knowing that the customer will be locked in buying ink for as long as the machine lasts, so the prices have gotten insane. Refillable inks are the best bet but of course not everything will take them.

Promise you won’t start selling off your organs to pay for it!

Great job! Thank you for your goodwill and wisdom, and congrats!

Ooh! That sounds good. I had access to the book from the lobby library, but didn’t take advantage of it while I had the chance. It sounded good, so I will have to seek the film.

My week is a pause, still awaiting my walking papers. Housing is going through a computer reformat through Aug 1, so I should get some info next week.

I’ll be turning in an application tomorrow so I can be put on a mandatory wait list for a certain community which looks like the best bet for me.

Meanwhile, I didn’t follow the tarot advice from @MeganB closely enough. I said something and upset my driver. Mercury retrograde took over. Thus, I may have to do the red tape of the move by bus- it will take longer, but I know I can git r dun.

(Edited: because it’s done, dropped it off!)

Good morning! I am putting the finishing touches on my medical complaint letter, which I am hand-delivering to the office today. I am also going to fill out a form to get my medical records transferred to my new physician. I could sure use some good juju and positive thoughts, as my anxiety is way up with this uncomfortable but necessary step (I haaaaate conflict :anxious_face_with_sweat: ). I am already planning something fun as a treat once it’s all done!

But that aside, being able to move a little forward has spurred me back into action, and I spent a few extremely enjoyable hours working on creating two personal projects that I hope to be able to share sooner rather than later! :tada:

Holding out under the heat dome until it’s supposed to break up at the end of the week :crossed_fingers: Looking forward to being able to be outside more again. :herb:

Congratulations, you two! :tada:

I hope you’ve been able to find it  :pink_heart:

Oof, I’m sorry that happened! Moving is stressful enough without the added obstacles you’re facing. I hope it works out for you in the end, though!

If it makes you feel any better, most admin and clerical staff aren’t going to give your request a second thought. People change physicians all the time for a variety of reasons :pink_heart: I used to be the patient-facing person for the Release of Information Department at a hospital I worked at. I promise, there’s likely zero judgment or room for conflict from anyone who’s doing the actual work of transferring your information

I feel like I’m always super late, or completely miss, the MMM posts  I don’t have too much going on this week besides a trip out of state tomorrow to visit a family member. That should be fun, and I’m looking forward to it!

Other than that, I plan on finding some Lúnasa music to listen to today, get some writing done, and finishing a crochet shirt I’ve been working on.

@georgia - oh, I’m sorry for the falling out with your driver! Hopefully you’ll get it ironed out soon. Best of luck with your application!

@Jeannie1- thank you, hon! And thanks to you for bringing awareness to World Conservation Day! This is something very close to my heart. Thank you for sharing these videos!
Meditation is both easy and quite challenging - just training the brain to turn off the chatter. It’s impossible to relax and focus while your peripheral brain is planning dinner! You might benefit from guided meditation, just someone giving you prompts for breathing and focus. Keeping one’s eyes closed cuts out the visual onslaught of stimuli to the brain. Good luck with this, it’s a beautiful thing!

@Amethyst - girl - you never fail to make me laugh! I think your sense of humor is your superpower!

@Mystique - thank you, lovely! Wishing you an easy move with the big stuff. Enjoy your pool time!

@tracyS thank you sweetie! :heart:

@Artemisia - Sending you positive vibes and all the good juju you can stand! Lol It’s hard to linger in negative energy, but this medical provider has earned it. They did the opposite of Do No Harm, and here you are still being triggered by it. :frowning: Screw 'em, they need to know how badly they got it wrong - you’re just providing them a reality check. Good for you!

I’m excited to hear about your projects when you’re ready to share!

@MeganB - thank you! Have a great time on your trip this week!

Love to all! :feather:

You can do this! We got you. It’s just switching doctors. You’ve done this before, and you were successful. You will be again. The letter is just a piece of paper expressing your experiences until someone actually reads it. That probably won’t happen for a day or two, so you can handle it a day at a time.

Is your new doctor in the same clinic as the old one? It might be wise to get someone elsewhere, if that option is available.

Keep focusing on the fun! :purple_heart:

Safe trip @MeganB!

Happy Organizing, @Mystique! We’ll both get through this well. I hope you like your new place!

@Jeannie1, I’ll be back to peruse your goodies later tonight. It looks like it will be a big day. Here’s hopes of finding out new, supportive info!

You’re correct! They didn’t bat an eyelash when I asked for the records release form or handed them the envelope with the medical complaint.

Thank you, thank you! Much appreciated.

Thank you! :pink_heart: and no, the new Dr and clinic are in another city 25 miles away
