Yay!

Congrats to all and merry start of a new week!

We had a ā€˜normal’ week last week… That is, it was anything but. I am finally 100% after hurting my back while doing some fall cleaning. The SO then promptly twisted hers while cleaning the windows so the window cleaning service didn’t think we were slobs. We have a cane we needed for me several months ago and now the SO has it. Sharing is our strong point.

I made a Tarot deck and included a Celtic celebration card (4 of Wands). To cover the bases, I made four of them. Now I have to remember to swap them out as the seasons roll by.

With input from others, I am considering making a rune practice area for November to continue on where @tracyS began. If you have a hankering to do rune practice, drop over to the current area and leave a post. HERE

Second cup of coffee time. I’m a bit blurry eyed.

Woo-hoo! Congrats to @Greenbriar and @Ostara! You’re both fabulous witches! :witch_moon:

Another week mostly dedicated to painting the upstairs bedroom…although much progress has been made. I’m going to give myself a mini-break today and break out the soup pot! Our weather has turned cold, though the sun is shining and the fall color is glorious. A typical late October week, so what better time to get into the kitchen? :woman_cook:

Right now, the weather might turn cloudy and possibly rainy by Samhain. A beautiful day to stay in and do rituals, though I do feel sorry for the local trick or treaters who are mainly interested in Halloween. :jack_o_lantern: Last year, it snowed on them!

Wishing everyone a wonderful week and blessed Samhain! :raising_hands:

Wow - thank you! And congratulations to the wonderful @Ostara for sharing the love.

@dan3 sorry to hear you and the SO both hurt your backs but glad you are feeling better now. Tell your SO to just let the window cleaners do their job, no matter what they might think. The windows on the north side of our house are a perpetual embarrassment.

@Feathertip as I was reading your post, I thought ā€œah - painting, must remember to take my watercolors with me to the cabin.ā€ but you’re not talking that sort of painting are you? LOL?

Shout-out to all of the lovely witches of Spells8, including but not limited to those who popped by when I landed in the forum! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

All of these events look super neat. Some plans for the week, though…

My work contract was cut short as of October 14th this year. That means this week is all about balancing the job hunt with self-improvement! :purple_heart:

That being said, hilariously:

October = 10, Wheel of Fortune (karmic shifts and the cyclical nature of fate)
14th = 14, Temperance (integration and balance)
2025 = 2 + 0 + 2 + 5 = 9, The Hermit (reflection and soul searching)

Absolutely not. :joy: I just got this job, universe! How dare you. (Also, wasn’t there a new moon solar eclipse at 21° Libra that day? Not my hemisphere, but bruh. :skull:)

Suffice it to say: still sore and hurting, but with plenty of room to spend those optimistic moments growing.

 I should be so lucky!!

By all means, get those watercolors and your favorite paper and brushes - it sounds like a beautiful place to paint!

Happy anniversary! :tada:

Yay! Great work!

Please be careful with that kind of thing? It hurts. Take it slow and easy. We’re not young chicks and pups anymore. May your SO feel better soon! I know how embarrassing the dirt can be, but health is more important. These kinds of injuries can be quite serious.

I think the paint brushes are calling me, too. I began by repairing a chip from a unicorn music box. Now to get busy with the rest of the backpack full of crafty painting projects.

Hi! :people_hugging:

Good way to look at it! Joining you.

I have a few more dried herbs to write out the correspondences. Plenty more new to me movies to check out and organize before I even start with old faves for the holiday. Considering saving incense ashes for an attempt at making my own ink.

Found out my apartment has a natural air drift directly toward the fire alarm in my bedroom, so I have to be extra careful burning intentions. One stick of incense and six candles are fine to burn per day, but nothing else which gives out smoke.

All last week, I got 10 phone calls per day from different phone numbers, but they all sounded like the same family- all from Mexico City. One of them said I called them, but I don’t speak enough Spanish to get by anymore, and only the father speaks English. I blocked all the calls and refused to answer. A couple proceeded to message me, so I looked up an AI to translate a message to return to them, saying that I have been harassed and am blocking all the numbers. Please stop calling and get the phone away from the children. The pattern has begun again, but this time, the phone only rings once and they hang up. It reminds me of my own childhood before caller ID, wherein kids would call to ask if we had Prince Edward in a can: Let him out! Or if we left our refrigerator running: better go down the road and catch it!

Congratulations @Greenbriar and @Ostara! This week I’m hoping to finally get off the wound vacuum attached to my incision. I’m starting to see the light at the end of this crazy journey. I’m still trying to get back into the swing of things so bear with me! I hope everyone has a happy and bright Sawhain!

There is a kind of logic in this line of thinking. I stand by her actions! Here’s hoping she recovers soon. Glad there’s a cane nearby to help with the worst of it!

I know less about runes than I do tarot, which I sort of muddle through while peeking into that thread. I do like the way runes look… This winter when I’m more confined indoors I want to do a deeper dive into Lenormand, which I do have a working knowledge of. Would runes integrate with Lenormand?

Oh, so sorry you’re back to job hunting! You seem to have a good attitude about it - best of luck to you! You can always come here for a pep talk and to relax when you need to!

Back atcha, lovely. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: Congrats on your progress! I hope you start feeling more like your old self very soon. :sparkles: :feather:

I find it easy to work with both. In fact, my rune draws are usually sympatico with my Lenormand draws - more than Tarot. Of course, the Tarot draws are usually one card in our practice area. . However, Tarot has more than a few cards that mimic Lenormand (or maybe the other way round). Runes can be combined with either to make a nice reading.

Two days ago, all three draws were saying the same thing - which was delightful.

Congratulations to @Greenbriar and @Ostara! The Witchiest of Witches! I tip my pointy hat to you! :witch_hat:

Sorry to hear you hurt your back @dan3! And maybe get yourselves a second cane for backup?

Yay! Soup! It’s good soup weather here today, too!

Let’s hope that doesn’t happen again, shall we?

I’m sorry to hear that, @Ploxxieboodle. That’s got to be difficult. I wish you much luck!

Oops. Please tell me it wasn’t late at night when you found this out?

Yay! Hopefully, everything will look healthy and you’ll be able to rest better. Have a good Samhain!

Y’all, I am trying to fix my sleep schedule, and it’s all mixed up. I’m going to be posting some more recipes tomorrow, because I’m too sleepy tonight. Of course, it didn’t help that I got to one of my doctor appointments early today, and they couldn’t take me in early. I waited for two hours! Blah. That makes you even more tired.

So yeah, I’ll get on those tomorrow. After some rest. LOL! Hopefully, I will be awake enough to figure out what I want to do for Samhain. I’ve got a list, but I need to put it into ritual form. I’ll figure it out!

Hope everyone has a good week and a wonderful Samhain! :witch_moon:

Thank you for the shout out! Congratulations @Greenbriar and happy anniversary!

I have a banana tree that has bananas on it. I put some pics up in magic gardens 2025, but I’m so excited I will post one here to. What a great year for harvesting. Remember my pineapple from the summer and now bananas!

ā€œYou’re gonna make it after allā€- Mary Tyler Moore Show

Happy Samhain! You’ll be busy, so enjoy your time!

Happily, no noise. I simply watched the incense smoke, backlit by the morning sunlight, drifting in Viking boats and cursive curlicues, and wished I could read smoke as easily as I could my own handwriting. It was quite beautiful.

Are you sure that’s wise? The time change is coming up, next weekend, and it always messes with sleep schedules, so wouldn’t it be better to wait until after?

I wish you protection from ā€œthe deadly black tarantulaā€ and all the ghosts possessing your dinner guests to sing Day-O!

Yeah, because it can take a couple of weeks to set yourself straight. I figure I might as well do it with the time change and only do my adjusting once. LOL! But yeah, no matter if I gain or lose and hour, the time change is awful!
