Divination is the magickal art of getting answers. There are many different methods of divination (such as tarot, oracle, pendulums, runes, tea leaf readings, etc), but all are used to get answers or insight into a situation.

Divination (from Latin divinare ‘to foresee, foretell, predict, prophesy’) is the attempt to gain insight into a question or situation by way of an occultic ritual or practice.

Omg did someone call my name?? this is SO up my ally . Ive just been working on my lenormamd spread from the last challenge and did one for march and was looking at tarot affirmstions . I didnt need an excuse to do sone divination but wow i am feelinf like i might just do lots more now this challenge is on i really do love my cards

Couldnt find emoji for cards so looked for relevent emojis for lenormand ( instead of whip)( ok not sickle but still)( not a stork but close) ( lol ok maybe a desert garden​:laughing:)

Tarot would be harder with emoji but the normal heart, spsde, diamond, and clubs i found

Not sure if I’m up for this one.

I agree with @tracyS there are many other divination methods other than tarot. Feathers, smoke, tea leaves, candle flame… @BryWisteria listed quite a few in her post. Do a Google search perhaps and see if something new intrigues you enough to try! Tarot is not the only way to divine and it’s ok if it’s not for you.

thoughts that come like whispers

Thanks for this reminder. I’ve been hearing whispers over the last couple of days that I could be taking the plastics off my windows. When I gathered myself to start, I realized it is a big job. I didn’t put them up in one day, and I won’t get them down and cleaned in one day either, but I can work a little at a time.

Pendulums, each attuned in my own unique way. I also have a beautiful divination board that enhances my practice. I don’t always use a divination board.

My Process for Attuning and Using the Pendulum

1. Inviting the Light & Higher Guidance

Before I begin, I always call in the light, inviting my higher guides and higher self to be present. Using my left hand, I envision the vibrant colors of the rainbow cascading down through my chakras, from the crown all the way to the root. This creates a sacred space, aligning my energy for clear and honest divination. Some nice music in the background to get to a peaceful state!!

2. Running the Pendulum

I hold the pendulum gently between my pointer finger and thumb.

I use left hand serves as the divination space where I direct the energy.

As I begin, I visualize a | (vertical) line ”this represents yes

Pendulums & Their Sacred Energies

Each pendulum carries its own unique vibrational frequency, assisting me in different aspects of divination and healing.

Amethyst (Greek: not drunken a)

The ancient Greeks believed amethyst could prevent intoxication, calm anger, and soothe frustrated passion. Beyond that, it serves as a powerful stone for protection and purification. It helps break free from bad habits, making it an ideal tool for addressing overindulgence, whether in smoking, drinking, or other addictions.

Selenite (The Stone of Divine Connection)

A high-vibrational stone, selenite is the perfect tool for activating the third eye and crown chakras. It facilitates spiritual connection, divine guidance, and communion with higher beings such as spirit guides and angels.

• It clears and purifies the etheric energy field, which is why I love using it in my divination practice.

*It enhances message clarity and helps create energy grids.

• If I ever feel fatigued or energetically drained, I turn to selenite, as it acts as a miniature energy vortex, restoring balance and reducing stress.

My pendulum practice is more than just a tools ”its a sacred ritual that aligns me with my higher self and the wisdom of the universe.

There is a seashell underneath here if you can tell, I have a whole bunch of different pendulums that I use seashells and stuff like that! But if you could figure out a unique way to store your pendulums, let me know how you do it.

You can find seashells and make pendulums out of seashells if you can figure out how to put a hole in the shell and that’s where I am stuck so if there’s anybody that knows how to do that, let me know.

If you ever need help there’s lots of people on here that might be able to answer question’s. I love exploring tarot as a system but even i get stuck sometimes. If you want to explore your stughles in tarot im sure its fine. Your exploring the theme in a way that benfits you. Who knows you might find your not alone…some one might have suggestions that might help or in explorijg your struggles you might find insight yourself so i think its still relevent and you will be suported here. We have a fabulous community here. nothing but good vibes here so if you wsnt to do that for the challenge i think its relevent and youll be supported in this family we have here.

CHALLENGE ENTRY

Context: I’m currently trying to engage the different divination methods I use, but I’m having a little trouble balancing them…I tend to get focused on one for a bit, then try another one and rotate basically. However, it occurred to me that I’m always double or triple-checking my results i.e. if I use tarot, I then use the other methods to see if I get the same general result. After my recent post about witch’s runes, I thought… why not combine all three methods into one reading? Runes, tarot and the pendulum…it seems a bit radical, but it could also be kinda cool… so I gave it a shot, here’s how it went!

Firstly, I aligned my chakra - I’ve got a lot going on and I felt like scrambled eggs, so I had to clear my aura. Then, I thanked Those who had joined me, and invited them to lend me their ears for a few moments.

Then, I chose the Eye rune, which represents intuition, vision, seeing things from a new perspective and enhancing psychic abilities. I chose this rune because I wanted some guidance, I’ve been feeling as though I’m missing something, like there’s something obvious that I can’t see - infuriating lol. I held both the rune and the pendulum (the backup one, the fairies stole my original one) in both hands, and charged it with the intention being one question, what do you want me to see?

Once charged, I turned to the tarot pendulum board; I set it up on my Metatron’s Cube cloth, and created a circle with alternating Amethyst to boost the psychic connection, and Clear Quartz which also enhances psychic abilites and boosts other crystals.

I held the rune and the pendulum chain in between my forefinger and thumb, touched the pendulum onto each crystal to enhance the circle, then telepathically asked the question while letting the pendulum do it’s thing. And as always, I’ll be completely honest - I expected it to fall into the nothingness in the middle! But to my surprise (don’t know why this still surprises me), it landed between Death and Temperance - I figured they’re equally important, so I pulled them both.

Death - a major change and/or transformation is coming. I am connecting with my higher self, but in order to grow there are things I need to change or let go of. Whenever something ends, it clears the way for something new - it could be a relationship, a phase in my life, or a new chapter in my journey. I need to stop resisting change and let it be - as hard as it can be, change is usually for the better.

Temperance - I need to find my balance, exercise patience and moderation. I have the abilites and tools necessary to overcome the approaching challenges, I just need to maintain my self-control and avoid extremes. As I always say, everything in moderation - an angel is both on the ground and in the water, I need to master the balance between the physical and metaphysical, and not get too focused on either. This card could also represent a guardian angel or deity, perhaps just a reminder that I’m not alone, I’ve got backup.

@jayne {{{hugs}}} we’ve all been there, it can be frustrating and a little demoralising… maybe give yourself a break? It takes time, and I’m sure you’d rather learn something right than quickly. As the lovelies have said, there are different kinds of divination so maybe now is the time to try something else and see how it feels.

Just wanted to pop in and join the others with their support - it’s absolutely fine if a method doesn’t click with you! If you’d like to share about your experience with tarot - be it good, bad, or meh - that would be welcome as an entry Alternatively, I’ll echo what others have suggested about giving a new method a try. You may find something that resonates with you more!

Brilliant! This was so neat - I love seeing how others combine and use multiple forms of divination. Each method has strengths and weaknesses, so while blending them together takes a bit of thought, doing so can help give very detailed answers. how to put a hole in the shell

My best suggestion is to use a dremel or a drill. Submerge the shell in water with a block of wood under it (to catch the bit) and slowly push the drill through the shell. Youtube likely will have videos on “how to” as well

Oh, great advice!!! Only thing I could add is put a bit of masking tape on top of the shell before drilling. It keeps the bit from slipping and helps protect the shell.

Challenge Entry

So divination eh, what to do Runes? It’s all I use although I do have tarot, and had a lovely demon tarot, but the runes are a little jealous and won’t share their space.

So I’m going to write about channelling spirit instead. What do I mean? Quite simply, you open your mind and body and allow the spirit to enter you and be a part of you. It’s a strange sensation and I would recommend you only do this with a spirit you know and trust well.

Here’s how.

1 Sit comfy on the floor, I sit cross legged (this is to ensure you don’t fall over).
2 Get the rune/ sigil/ or name of the spirit and write it on a piece of paper.
3 Draw a circle around this symbol.
4 Lights nice and low.
5 Hold the paper and focus on the image till it imprints in your minds eye.
6 Close your eyes.
7 Call in the spirit by name out loud and invite them to channel.
8 Now wait, breathe normally. You will start to feel nervous, like the hairs are rising all over your body, you may also feel a slight chill, your heart rate will increase and you’ll feel a heaviness on your arms and legs, this is normal.
9 Now speak to the spirit. Give it directions of communication. For example “Push me sideways for Yes, Forwards and backwards for No.”
Then ask, “Are you with me?” And wait. You’ll feel the spirits energy fill your body and then you’ll sway. The rocking and swaying can get vigorous the more you communicate but that’s ok, it’s why you’re sitting down.
10 Once you’ve got the Yes/No going, you can get your runes out and start talking. You’ll feel tingly everytime you pull a rune, and sometimes a heavyweight on your arm as the spirit controls the pull of the runes.
11 When you’re done. Thank the spirit and say goodbye.
12 Confirm the goodbye by saying, “Push me sideways for goodbye”
13 Cleanse your space however you cleanse, have a large glass of water afterwards, and that’s it.

So what happens if the spirit decides you’re a good fit? On the positive, you won’t end up like Venom so don’t panic, I’ve never had a spirit stay - they have better places to be .

I learnt this technique from The College of Psychic Studies. Word of warning: Use this method only with a spirit you know well, have any protections you normally use, and if you feel off, COMMAND the spirit to leave. It will, you are always in control.

I’m thankful to have more time to work on this challenge as bandwidth has been low lately.

I decided to do a large bone casting for my divination entry and follow it with a tailored tarot spread. It will be much more involved of a reading than I’ve done before, but I have the time to do it right.

I cast my bones and recorded them yesterday, and today I created the companion tarot spread and pulled those cards. I’m excited to delve into the details of both!
