Thank you @BryWisteria for this round up of the week’s activities.

Welcome to all our new members. We are glad to have you with us!

Congratulations @Moonbeam on your two week shout out - thank you for being so awesome!

Just a quiet week for Eric and I, although we are making final preparations for our trip to visit dad in England in a couple of weeks. Eric is still dealing with pain from his torn meniscus, but he’s working on some gentle exercises to help, and has found a knee brace that gives him some relief. He just won’t be doing the hiking he was hoping to do. I think for both of us the trip will be a lot more sedentiary. For a start, we are going to swallow our pride and get assistance at the airports at either end, so Eric doesn’t have to lug the suitcases and we dont have to walk miles.

Instead of walking around Edinburg, we’ll be taking a bus tour, instead of walking in the countrysife we will be spending time with dad in his garden, we will enjoy celebratory meals for my birthday, Eric’s birthday and my friend in England’s birthday, all of which are happening while we are there.

And when we visit my girlfriends (from my school days) down in Somerset and Cornwall, they are both aware of our limitations now, so will go gently on us (I hope!)

I hope Mercury in Retrograde doesn’t cause any disruptions!

Welcome to you all! We’re happy you’re here with us! :blush:

Congrats sweetie! On a two-week streak!

I have an appointment with my orthopedic doctor this week. Just a follow-up and to see about possible platelet injection therapy. It’s supposed to be fairly successful, just not covered by my insurance so I want to explore it.

In other news, the two Monarch caterpillars went into their “hanging J” position over the weekend - meaning they’re ready to pupate.

And later I found this - two perfect little chrysalises! It’s bizarre that they seemed to do it in sync with each other.

The photo is dark, I’ve moved the cage indoors. It’s cleared of all the milkweed and now they can stay inside for the duration.

We’re in for a mini heatwave this week - nasty high temps for the next 4 days. I’ll be rotating my potted herbs around and making sure everything is watered. Reminds me of summer in Georgia, only it won’t last for 2 months. :joy:

Hope everyone has a wonderful week! Enjoy the Strawberry Full Moon tonight! I’ll likely have my moon water outside to get recharged. :sparkles: :full_moon: :heart:

I’m so glad you’re able to navigate the trip! It sounds like you have a lot of fun things planned. I’m sure your friends will be mindful of your limitations - they’ll just be happy to see you! That’s what it’s all about. :heart:

Vacations should be relaxing and fun, so it’s all good! Yay!!

@Feathertip hank you @BryWisteria for another Merry Meet. You are a rockstar!

Welcome to all our new members. Jump in and have fun.

Congratulations @Moonbeam! Your show of love and participation helps everyone.

I’m living vicariously with @Feathertip’s Lepidopterarium ( :grinning_face:) efforts. So cool.

First, that is going to be a nice trip. When we travel, we do what you are doing. Long walking tours are strictly out. The good news with that is we feel much better and there are no days of stumbling into our hotel rooms and immediately going to sleep. Of course, when we were young and immortal, we climbed mountains… but age taught us climbing mountains is not needed to enjoy things.

My week seemed to be busy - maybe because of all the construction and repairs that were finishing up. Our street is still torn up. The water leak that lasted two years undermined houses and property so all that is being fixed.

The coming week should be a bit more relaxed. A little shopping and a lot of relaxation is on tap. The heat wave that is hitting a lot of us (including our friends in the UK and parts of Europe) will be peaking here today and tomorrow. Record temps (they are predicting 110F or 43.3 C). So most outdoor events are cancelled. We are used to crazy swings here but I feel sorry for those who don’t normally have such extremes.

There are three major holidays coming this month. Canada, the US, and France all have birthdays!

I swear Eric missed his vocation as a concierge tour planner. Several times now he has planned cross country road trips, planning overnight stops, side quests etc.

He’s done the same on this one, coordinating with my girlfriends so we spend a couple of days with dad, and then get the train down to Somerset, spend a couple of days with Katie, then on to Cornwall to spend a couple of days with Lorna, then train back to London/Staines to spend more time with dad. Then train up to Edinburg (first class, no less), a full day there before going on a minibus tour across the Highlands and to the Isle of Skye, with overnight stops in B&Bs included in the price of the tour. And finally train back to London/Staines for another full day and overnight at dad’s before catching the flight back.

That way, 97 yr old dad gets to see us, but doesn’t feel like he has to entertain us and chauffeur us around for three weeks.

Merry Meet! to all our new members and a very warm welcome to the Forum. I am looking forward to reading your introductions and posts and getting to know you all.

@BryWisteria

Thank for you for all your hard work on our weekly newsletter I always love reading what is happening each week.

@Greenbriar

Wow you are definitely travelling nearly the full length of the UK and going by train saves lots of roadworks which seem to just appear from nowhere. It happens a lot. Hopefully, you will get some rest, relaxation in between a busy schedule seeing what you both want to see and having a wonderful time with your Dad, family and friends. Sending you positive blessings for your vacation that everything goes smoothly.

@Feathertip

Thank you mentioning this. I have looked it up this procedure it is good that it is non-invasive with quick recovery but can take a few weeks to see any results but it is definitely worth a try. When my Husband goes back for his follow-up appointments he will ask the Podiatrist and Muscular Skeleton Consultants about whether it is available on the NHS.

Thank you for sharing your photographs updating the stage of the Monarch caterpillars. Yes they are in sync could be both females!

Hoping the forecast for the mini heatwave is lower for you and your plants and garden.

@dan3

Have they said when the disruption to your Street will be completed? How is your dog coping?

Glad your week is more relaxed as the heat in some areas in the US is very extreme. It plays havoc with your body trying to keep the core temperature down, affects your sleep (I have read that you are not sleeping well at the moment - me too very erratic)

The mini heatwave in the UK has come to the end and iS around 21 in Lancashire with some rain forecast on Tuesday to Thursday and it is 24 further down south. It is set to climb again next week but about 25-26 I think. I think the rest of Europe are still experiencing high temperatures.

The mercury retrograde hit my travel to work this morning with roadworks.. I usually get in at 9.15 but arrived at 10.43. I look at it as I have worked less today so that is great. With my extra time I made some calls whilst waiting at the bus stop.

I am meeting up with my best friend on Wednesday for our monthly catch up and my beauty nail and brows treatments. Will see what rest of the week brings you never know more travel delays could be possible. Tomorrow my Husband is taking me in though.

Wishing everyone a blessed Strawberry Full Moon and to those living in the US, Canada and France wishing you fun, love and laughter on your holidays next month.

With love and light :full_moon::green_heart:

I was hearing ads on the radio last year about some company in Texas that was offering therapy that sounded very like that. They were promising such miraculous results I kind of brushed it off as a scam. Might be worth looking into, nothing ventured, nothing gained as they say.

I attach some information from the NHS in the UK which I think you know is the National Health Service here :full_moon::green_heart:

I have re-done it for you.

The first guess was a couple of days but when they opened up the street they discovered significant erosion. We’re going on three weeks. I suspect it will be another week. The water is still seeping out. Another truck just went by with the night’s collection. Big mess.

@dan3

Given that watercourses running under properties can cause significant subsidence and this has been going on unseen for a longtime I would definitely keep checking your property as things don’t always show immediately and also the repairs might have disturbed other points at which the watercourse might flow naturally as there cannot be any guarantees on this kind of work. It is man made then it might be ok definitely ask some questions about it I would also look at your Home Insurance. My career is in a Law Firm in the Residential Department and I have come across this situation before a nautal watercourse being built over and not been underpinned. I just thought I would try to help you and your neighbours :full_moon::green_heart:

Congratulations, @Moonbeam! You’re a two-week streaker! Way to go!

And hi to all the new people! Hope you’re liking the place! :waving_hand:

That’s a good idea! I hope the trip goes well!

I hope it works for you! And maybe they can do something to help with the cost.

Yay! Butterfly in the sky!

Same here. It’s 87 now and feels like 68. Fun times.

That does not sound like it’s being an easy fix. But it’ll be worth it!

I forgot the French! :person_facepalming: Oopsie!

I’m glad y’all are cooling off. I heard there was even a tornado in Ireland!

That sounds oodles of fun! Have a happy Full Moon!

Whelp, I went to my counselor this morning, and she adjusted my meds. Added one that’s supposed to give me motivation and energy during the day. So yay! We’ll see what happens.

I have to go to another doctor on Wednesday and do a few errands afterwards with Sally. It’s supposed to be 94 degrees outside. I don’t think I have enough deodorant to stop what we here in the South call swamp, ahem, butt.

No big plans for the weekend. Other than doing my usual July 4th movie marathon. 1776, Jaws, and Independence Day. Good times. Nothing like watching the guy who did the voice of KITT sing in a musical. Y’all younger ones would know him as Mr. Feeney. Dr. Craig for anyone who remembers St. Elsewhere.

And of course, Jaws and Independence Day need no explanation.

Hope everyone has a good holiday, no matter what country you’re in. Have a good week folks!

And I have to leave this here:

We watch Independence Day every year too. But now you mention it, we might have to add Jaws to our watch list.

I remember when I first saw that, it was when I was visiting my aunt and uncle up in Michigan (when I was still living in the UK but working for BA, so I got cheap flights). My uncle got a young man at the Ford plant he worked at take me to the movies - the movie was Jaws. The line to get in was all the way round the parking lot.

Then the next part of the vacation was when we all (me, my aunt and uncle and my two cousins) went down to St. Augustine in Florida. And none of us wanted to go in the sea because of the movie.

It was a great trip though, and we still joke about it.

Jaws is a good one, and it takes place over the July 4th weekend on the movie! So, it fits.

Man, I bet it was amazing to see in a theater! And I don’t blame you for not going into the water. :shark:

Shark week is at the end of the month!

Why, thank you lovely! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: This is greatly appreciated.

It’s been around for years, but not studied much for outcomes and it’s not covered by many, if any, insurance companies. If I’d listened to be big sell like that I’d be suspicious, too. :wink: All I know is steroid injections work the best (got me through my trip to Europe last summer, even with tons of walking!) but orthopedics don’t like using steroids much (and I appreciate that), so other things must be attempted. With my luck, I’ll have great results and have to dig deep every six months or so. :roll_eyes:

Thank you @BryWisteria for another MMM! :purple_heart:

Congratulations!! :partying_face: You´re a rock-star!

And welcome to our new forum members! I hope you have fun here, and I look forward to reading your posts and getting to know you!

Vienna is still sweltering in the heatwave, and I can’t bring myself to light even a single candle on my altar. I might just do a Tarot spread and crystal grid as full moon ritual.
Sleep is out of the question until after midnight, and I’m truly starting to feel exhausted now. But it’s finally supposed to cool down a bit by the middle of the week.
At least I managed to motivate myself to put my crystals out on the roof, and in the process, I captured a photo of Mama Moon just as she was rising over the rooftops of Vienna.

Blessed full Strawberry Moon my lovely witches and have a great week!

Beautiful shots! So happy you had a lovely clear night.

We’re having a very oppressive heat wave right here in the Midwest US, too, so I understand the feeling of exhaustion. It’s energy-stealing!

Stay safe, lovely!

It is!!! And Vienna is not at all equipped to deal with it. The major part of living units doesn´t have any AC at all and in older buildings it´s even forbidden to install AC because of heritage protection. :hot_face: There´s also no AC at my workplace…:sob:
