When we think of methods of communication, speech may come first to mind. But there are many other ways to reach out too. From text and journaling to video, the average person has many ways to communicate in the modern world. A witch’s options are even more expansive. With the right skills and spells, one can talk to spirits, commune with the divine, appeal to higher powers, send otherworldly messages, and more.
Communicative magick is the art of expression and also the art of reception. It is a phone with a microphone and a speaker: it is how we share our thoughts and intentions with the world, and how we receive messages. Who do you call upon in your practice, and how do you connect with them? Do you send or receive messages? Or perhaps you cast spells to boost interpersonal communication and create harmonious relationships. However you embrace communicative powers, it’s time to dial in and connect with your coven as we explore!

Mercury Retrograde
Mercury Retrograde has a reputation for messing up means of communication, especially when it comes to tech. According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, the third and final Mercury Retrograde of 2026 will begin October 24 and last until November 13.

In order for your entry to be counted, all you have to do is write/share about your experience and label it as your challenge entry. There is a lot of chatting here (which is awesome- chatting and discussion are very welcome!) so please clearly write that it is your entry so I know to count it!

The Shroom Message Spell did post in the forum today, but I actually wrote it earlier this week (I build the Thursday newsletter and its content on Mondays and Tuesdays, usually). Communication magick has been a brain worm in my mind for a while! I’ll hold myself to the challenge rules about making an entry within the active period of the challenge - but it’s been such a hot topic in my mind, I may do another message spell soon!
