About to turn “Hug Your Cat” day into “(I) Hug Your Cat” day by finding a bodega cat and paying my respects. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Welcome! And Merry Meet! :sparkling_heart:

Great job! Thank you for your work!

Yay for the Welcoming Committee! We make this place warmer and help it continue along its long path of greatness. Every welcome is important, so those who missed the award are valued as well. Thank you for your time.

Over the past 30 hours or less, I have collected over 50 spells from the site for my BOS! This is the largest collection in one day since I started collecting. This place is amazing! Each and every person here has made it so, though it wouldn’t be here without our wonderful founder and lovely moderators! Thank you all!

Three more days before I can get after my usual monthly chores. I’d like to do something big so it won’t need to be done while I’m busy and tired, but I have learned that the osmic war cannot be won in this location. The smell is probably soaked into the woodwork. I can find no other source to clean. I’m not giving up, just modifying my work to minimal daily effort so I can get other things done, too. Since I am an air elemental, this is a bit of a blow to my ego, but I will continue the best I can with what I have. I pity the next person who gets this apartment.

Happy June!!

It finally is feeling like spring! I worked in the garden all weekend and loved every minute!

Built this crazy contraption to “hopefully” allow all of the climbers I planted to thrive! I downloaded a plant recognition app to help me decide what stays and goes back there. I planted a TON of seeds, but nature will nature and I always have weird stuff pop up randomly.
I found a sweet stash of wild onions when I was clearing that flower bed, so I will grab some read onions from the store and learn if pickling wild onions is good!

I am starting a 3-week art class tonight with a friend. Its called Encaustic Painting and its an ancient medium using beeswax, a heat tool, and pigments. I am pretty excited to learn it!

I have fencing class this week and am excited about learning Épée finally! It will be another busy week, but hopefully sunny and fun!

Oh, Wednesday is the last day of school around here so I am sure we will do something fun for that. We usually at least go get ice cream to celebrate the last day. My only kid in school still will be wrapping up 7th grade this year! So I am planning for a full summer of telling him to get out of bed, go outside, take a shower, eat a meal, don’t stay up too late, etc. Summer hits and he basically turns feral!

My exciting news is that I was emailed last week about my availability for Thursday and Friday this week…for the 3rd and FINAL interview at this job I really want!!! I am waiting on the actual day and still need to figure out what to wear! Any tried and true spell suggestion would be welcome!! I plan on doing the same “Road Opener” that nailed me the 1st interview!! I really want a powerful witch jar to bring in my bag with me. Or maybe I will make an amulet… I am spiraling. Any spells to try will be welcome. Since I HAVE to have a job…this one is my dream. I would get to create, design, implement, and manage the training department!! Its starting a new program from scratch and I love the idea of that challenge!

I hope all of you lovely witches have an amazing week!!

Welcome to the coven!! Settle in, grab a cup of tea, and explore all of the resources we have here! If you have any questions or need help finding something, just ask. Everyone here is so helpful and kind! We are all life-long learners here…you should see the book club! Please make yourselves at home and reach out if you need anything.

Welcome to our new members! We’re glad you decided to join us!

Congrats on the shout-out, sweet girl! We appreciate the love and wisdom you share every day. :sparkling_heart:

Big congrats to all of my fellow W.I.T.C.H.ES! You all rock!

Wow!! You’ve been busy! Congrats on expanding your BOS with your new collection. I agree this place is amazing.

I’m so sorry! You’ve been working on this apartment so diligently, so this must be disappointing. Poor old apartment never should have been so neglected.

I love your “crazy” contraption! It looks like it’s going to hold a lot of climbers for you.

Right? It’s kind of the fun of it all! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Encaustic work is gorgeous! Lots of textures to be created. And beeswax smells heavenly! I hope you have a blast. I hope you share your work with us in the Art forum! :artist_palette:

Best of luck to you for this interview! I would definitely repeat the spell that got you this far. Maybe others can weigh in with more ideas.

Back atcha, sweetie!

Me, I have a meeting with the landscaper sometime this week, and a Dr appointment on Tuesday. The weather is staying gorgeous all week so more time in the garden is on tap!

Wishing everyone a wonderful week!

@BryWisteria - Thanks for the lovely summary again!

Welcome to all the new people and a “congrats” to all who earned special mention. Nice stuff.

Love it! It will be beautiful once it gets covered.

We’ve started skinning our house and replacing all the siding +. Our house has been under attack for years (and suffered many repair jobs). We live by a big woods and all the Downy Woodpeckers and Northern Threshers decided our house was a good alternative to the walnut trees. We’re now installing cement infused siding. We gave the nests that have been built time to clear with this year’s crop of fledglings. Now we are sealing the whole house. The racket is LOUD.

Oh, my - that is a large part of your home, no wonder it’s a loud project!

I like the idea of this - sounds very durable. That’ll show those busy little beaks.

Good morning and Happy June, everyone! Congratulations to @Moonbeam for being just awesome in every way! Thank you for all you do!

And congratulations to my fellow W.I.T.C.Hes! @Feathertip, @georgia, @katharina, @Moonbeam, @shanna5, and @TS5! Thank you for being wonderful witches!

Oh, and hi new people! Welcome to the mad house!

I’m sure your bodega cat will love you for it!

Nice collection!

Have you tried Oduban? That stuff smells good, and it’s strong! I used to snitch some from the pizza place I worked at all the time.

I don’t know if you’re doing enough. You need another hobby. Demolition derbies, perhaps?

Your life sounds amazingly fun but tiring all at once! Good for you! And while I don’t have any wild onion recipes, I have posed a couple with ramps. Good luck with your interview!

Sounds fun! Did you get through to your landscaper what you wanted?

Oh my! Either small knocking noises all the time or huge hammering noises. How long will it take them? Hopefully, not too long!

Well, I survived one doctor’s appointment this week; I just have one more to go! I got to have my booty x-rayed due to lower back pain. What fun.

And why is it the skinny people take the big chairs meant for us fat people? Why?

I’m gonna take down my spring stuff and decorate for Summer today! Or at least start. No big plans for me this week after going out on Wednesday to the dermatologist.

Oh! My worker went to get me quarters at the ATM downtown. She didn’t go in because there was a bear walking on the sidewalk. So yeah. It’s a cub, so there’s a chance the Mommy is around. I’m on the ground floor of the apartment building. I could climb in my window. So I may be closing those later.

I like nature. Just not in my living room.

Hope everyone has a great week! Don’t let the bears get you!

They say 5 to 7 days. The foreman quietly said they would be less than that if everything goes well. This is like those home shows where everything looks hunky but then they find the termites.

I get that feeling. For a long while I was going twice a week. It stressed me out.

Merry Meet, coven! :crescent_moon::sparkles:

I have to admit, I absolutely love that June 4th is Hug a Cat Day. As someone who could very easily become an old cat lady, I fully support a holiday dedicated to giving our feline overlords the admiration they already believe they deserve. :cat::purple_heart: I’m also looking forward to World Environment Day on Friday. It’s a wonderful reminder that caring for the Earth doesn’t always require grand gestures, sometimes it’s as simple as planting something, picking up litter, conserving resources, or spending time appreciating the natural world around us.

I’m especially intrigued by Vestalia, which begins on Sunday. I don’t know nearly as much about it as I’d like, but I’m hoping to learn more. I’ve always felt a strong kinship with Hestia, the keeper of the hearth and sacred flame, so any celebration that honors home, hearth, and devotion naturally catches my attention. :fire::herb:

A warm welcome to all our new members: @aaliyah1, @bethany, @kimberly7, @keaton2, @oma, @brittany5, @kristine4, @diva, @underwaxingmoon, @kai1, @j115, @amber13, @ali, @casey, and @orchid. We’re so glad you’ve found your way here!

Happy Birthday to all our June witches! :birthday_cake::sparkles: May your year ahead be filled with blessings, growth, and a little magickal mischief.

Congratulations to @Moonbeam for sharing the most posts and hearts this week! Thank you for all the positivity and energy you bring to the community. And congratulations as well to everyone who earned the W.I.T.C.H. Award for welcoming new members. You help make this forum feel like home. :purple_heart: (I’ve been off my game a little lately :face_with_bags_under_eyes:)

@shanna5: sending all the positive energy, crossed fingers, and lucky witch vibes your way. I hope that dream job becomes a reality! :sparkles:

@Amethyst: your comment about the chairs made me laugh out loud! Obviously they’re jealous of our bodacious booties and superior comfort requirements.

As for me, this week is mostly about being my daughter’s chauffeur as she works through her appointments. In between driving duties, I’ll be focusing on self-therapy with my new workbooks, shadow work, divination, and working on both my manifestation box and my new green/hearth witch scrapbook. I found an adorable forest-themed scrapbook set on Temu and I’m having way too much fun with it. :evergreen_tree::open_book::sparkles:

Mostly, though, I’m trying to stay busy and keep some healthy distance from the news. The world feels very heavy lately, and sometimes protecting our peace is an act of self-care. I’d rather spend my energy nurturing my spirit, creating something beautiful, and tending my little corner of the world.

Wishing everyone a peaceful, restorative, and magick-filled week ahead.

Blessed Be! :crescent_moon::purple_heart:

Oh, wow. I kinda feel sorry for you. I always get the feeling that those are more frustrating than the TV shows let on! Good luck!

They kinda wanted me to come into the wound care center for the hyperbaric chamber five days a week for an hour. I didn’t think I could mentally handle it. That would have just been too much going out for me. My little agoraphobic heart could not take it!

Okay, that sounds amazing! But alpacas on a beach? Wouldn’t the sand get all in their hair?

But your craft work looks awesome! Way to go!

Maybe the skinny chairs make their butts look too big? Who knows?

Well, it certainly sounds busy! And I get staying away from the news. I stay away from the politics and a lot of the local crime stuff. My local crime app was sending me daily notifications about areas NOT around here, along with terrible news stories. Now I just skim Yahoo News, which has some serious stuff, but some funny stuff too. And I can pick and choose; it doesn’t get sent to my phone.

Sending you peaceful vibes, dear heart!

I sent her my suggestions, and she’s found substitutes for virtually all of them. She’s the landscaper and I’m willing to give her a listen. I do have a couple of hard No’s for her, though. (I find peonies too labor-intensive, and a “butterfly bush” is non-native. Easily replaced with Swamp Milkweed. We’ll sort it out.)

Oh no! It’s not likely to happen, especially if you’re not in there cooking, but yeah. Close the windows!

The wand looks great! And you’re rocking those Festival Dreads, beautiful! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

This is an important event - thanks for bringing it up, Sis. I’ll work it into Fun Friday this week.

You’re very wise. This is all any of us can do, when we get right down to it. I haven’t sat and watched TV news in two years.

Hope your daughter’s appointments go smoothly!

I forgot! Even with you reminding me! But I didn’t get eaten by a bear, so yay?

@Eira_of_the_Living_Hearth get you one of those chauffeur hats and just have it on when you go pick her up. Might be good for a laugh. Also, thanks for the good vibes. Still waiting on an invite to the interview.

I deleted news apps and notifications about 6 months ago. I skim for 30-45 in the morning from my work computer while having some coffee. Then that’s it! That stuff brings down the vibe so fast for me!

@shari2 An alpaca farm party sounds amazing!! Your wand and dreads are gorgeous. Along with that tea towel! So pretty!

Update on the Encaustic art class: It was so fun!! We did a collage last night and its kind of like just decoupage a bit. I was able to put all kinds of things into the wax and just seal over it!

I kind of love it! Its a colorful, wild mess… just like me!

UPDATE: I did the Road Opener spell and 3 minutes after closing the spell, I got the email invite for my 3rd and final interview!!

The TV shows build drama - usually unnecessarily - but, yes it is a bit stressful. We did have two places that had to be repaired (so far) but since they had the old stuff off, they were easy repairs. - not where we expecting them but easily fixed.

:tada: Congratulations on the double shout-outs and thank you for sharing so much of your :owl: wisdom and so much of your  love with the group!

 Congratulations to the recipients of the May WITCH award! Appreciate all your hard work and open-heartedness in welcoming new members!

I’ve hit the ground running this week, or rather, haven’t stopped since Tuesday of last week! My two-day gardening plan took five days, over 17 hours, countless shovels of dirt and swings of the pick ax to cut through roots to plant two erosion-fighting plots of native Christmas ferns, native sedges, foamflower, and :tada: discounted to $5 :tada: heleobores. Best part of the project was realizing I could do it. It was tiring, but I’m amazed that I was physically capable of the hard physical work.

Currently interviewing five different landscape/hardscape companies to put in a paver path in the back yard by my gardens and a dry river bed with a flagstone step path on the side yard to deal with excess water, reduce erosion, and give us a path to walk on. I’m on interview three as of an hour ago and have one more today and the final one tomorrow, but already I’m scheming about where I can plant more ferns, helebores and other natives in the areas around the proposed work. I can share photos of what I’ve been doing in the garden post if anyone is interested.

Other than that , I’m heading out for a run in cooler-than-normal weather after I finish this post and have a birding outing tomorrow morning. We’re getting to the end of the spring outings as summer gets going here…

Newt’s having another flare of FHV-1 in his eye, but this time I have antivirals on hand, so :crossed_fingers: fingers crossed we can nip this in the bud before he gets a corneal ulcer again.

I’ll read through everyone’s posts from yesterday and this morning when I get back, but I wanted to get a post out since I’ve been rather MIA lately.

Wishing everyone a wonderful start to their week and to June!
