Good morning! I hope everyone had a good weekend!

Congratulations to @Moonbeam for being all around awesome! And hi to all the new people! HI! :waving_hand:

This week is going to be fun, I can tell. I celebrated the First Quarter Moon this morning. It’s the last. :person_facepalming: Oops.

Good thing I’ve got nothing much going on! My brain needs to be engaged. Sheesh. But so far I have no doctor appointments or anything this week, so I can be all wrong about the days and it won’t matter. I got my sunflowers and stuff up last week, so hopefully this week will be nice and easy!

Hope everyone else has a good week!

Greetings everyone and welcome!

Great job! And thank you!

It seems like there has been a massive change around here. Haven’t found the source or effects as yet, but I feel a disturbance in the Force. It doesn’t seem bad, just different.

Massive new cleaning efforts are under way. I took an old toothbrush and enzymatic cleanser to the details on the front of the dishwasher and found lots of goo. When I wiped the drips away, the floor changed color!

The linoleum here has ridges. It seems pet mess got into the depths and was not wiped away by consistent mopping with normal cleansers over the past 9 months. Only the enzymes were able to loosen it. Yet the pattern of the flooring was fully visible, making the floor “look” clean. Maybe I have finally found the source of the smell. Once the enzymes had a chance to work on the kitchen and entryway floor, I mopped with plain water six times and the mop water continually became black with lather on the floor itself. I will continue enzymes and mopping, room by room, until the water remains clear. Then I will use my usual floor cleansers to get up the last of it.

I hope no one ever has this happen to them; but if it does, here is a potential resolution. Seek enzymatic cleanser in the pet aisle. I paid $30 a gallon, but if that smell is removed for good, it is worth the price. Your health and the health of your family is worth it!

Caution: Keep pets away from the enzymes while cleaning, and wear a protective mask. The spray is hard on the lungs, despite being “pet safe” and “natural.”

Good morning, lovelies!

Welcome to you all! Hope to see you around the forum so we can get to know each other. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Congrats, sweet girl, on the shout-out and your two-week streak!

 Hey, if that’s the only thing you get wrong this week, then you’re blessed!

Here’s hoping your week gets to stay appointment-free and you can focus on nothing but the fun stuff - nice and easy is always welcome.

@georgia - how nasty! I’m glad you finally found this enzymatic cleaner to literally get to the bottom of the smell in your apartment. Hopefully this will let you both breathe easier! That’s a lot of work but fingers crossed it will solve it for good.

Nothing big on tap for me this week. Our low-humidity, dry weather is being edged out by incoming rain and sultry air. I don’t like the humidity but there’s no doubt we could use the rain, so bring it on!

Haircut on Wednesday and that might be it. I’m very disappointed in how things are playing out with this landscaper I’ve been chatting with.

She’s been here twice - the first time I went over everything I was thinking about and she took pictures and seemed to get it. The second time (a month later) she came with some plans that were so totally NOT what we had talked about I was puzzled, and she was embarrassed. We were supposed to meet again last Monday with new plans (and hopefully exchange some $$ so her crew could get started), but at the last minute she cancelled - something about a delivery showing up that she wasn’t expecting. She promised to get back in touch to reschedule but, as of this morning, it’s been crickets on her end.

Do I give up and move on? I first called her in April. Am I being dumb because I’m supposed to take the hint that she’s not that interested in the project? It’s fairly involved: outside of removing some dead trees (from an ice storm), I wanted to create a cottage garden in the front and get some flagstones laid near my driveway. Pretty straightforward.

Also: she was referred to me by my neighbor (our back yards meet, so I’ve seen her work) and it would be uncomfortable to have to ding this woman to him; and I thought she’d love to have two clients close together like this. I’m confused.

Anyway - end rant. It’s a head-tilter for the moment; who knows what’s going on in her life. Wish me luck! :sunflower:

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

So far the donations total ÂŁ479,124.00.

Merry Meet! to all our new members and a very warm welcome to the Forum, Witchy News for the Week which @BryWisteria does for us thank you. Have fun looking around there are lots of different categories to explore. We are spread across the world and everyone is very supportive, caring and helpful with anything you need it is a wonderful coven to be a part of.

@Amethyst great news no appointments. I don’t think it really matters to much with the Moon, you get to do it twice double the luck and healing, your subconscious probably guided you to it!

“I got my sunflowers and stuff up last week” - you are prepared already I have not started mine yet.

@georgia oh my goodness that sounds like really hard deep cleaning. It is surprising that some things look clean but it is ingrained, glad you found a solution but should not have to go to such extremes the previous people says it all un-hygienic. You are also removing any stubborn unhealthy energies at the same time.

@katharina That sounds lovely, get that tan. It always makes feel uplifted when the sun is shining. It has been cold, heavy rain good for plants. The weather is going to pick up, get warmer from Friday this week and become hot and sunny. I will be out too in my bikini to feel the warmth on my body will be bliss

Wishing everyone who posts this week a blessed, calm, relaxing week :last_quarter_moon::green_heart:

:tada: Congratulations on the double shout-outs and thank you for sharing so much of your :owl: wisdom and so much of your  love with us!

I feel like a broken record, but I’ll say it again this week , I’m hoping for an easy week, some rest, and time working on long-neglected projects with a busy spring. Summer has arrived and is serious this time, 90s, high humidity, and no rain. Going to be a tough summer for the lakes, rivers, and landscapes. The only “good” thing about the heat and drought is that there’s less I can do outside, so it’s time to shift to indoor projects.

A few nights ago was the Moth Crawl event, a few towns over - started at 8:30 pm and went to 11:00 pm. Three different locations and habitats, 11 sheets/lights, and lots of fun! I went in with the plan of visiting 2 sites and being home early since friends who planned on joining me all cancelled the day of. Fast forward, and I’m getting home a little after midnight, visited all three sites, participated in the Make-And-Take-A_Moth crafting project, saw a ton of neat moths, bugs, and beetles, and got to hold an African raven and a Pied Crow :raven: from a local wildlife rescue that brought a number of their resident ambassador raptors. The screech owl was so cute and tiny! :owl: Took lots of pictures.

Hope everyone’s week starts off well!

Welcome to all our new members and congratulations to @Moonbeam on the shout-out - thanks for being so awesome!

I am working on a new trifold altar decoration for Litha (inspired by the ones our lovely @katharina has done). It’s very sunny and summery and will brighten my little altar for the Sabbat. I’ll share a photo when it is done.

Other than that, I have to stop in and get some blood drawn tomorrow, before my follow up visit with the hematologist next week (hopefully they won’t need to draw seven vials like they did last time. I also have a visit on Thursday with the neurologist.

@amethyst Yay for no doctor appointments! Wishing you a lovely relaxing week!

@georgia I’m glad you are finally able to get rid of the pet odors in your apartment. It would be nice if the apartment management would make that a routine part of cleaning apartments between tenants. Then each tenant could move into a fresh smelling unit.

@Feathertip if you weren’t impressed with her proposal, and it wasn’t anything like you were expecting, based on the discussion you had with her, I think you should just leave a message that you are going with another designer. (even if you aren’t)
For now, you could just get an arborist to come in and remove the damaged trees so you don’t have to look at them daily. Then you can look into getting someone to lay the flagstones near the driveway.
And then you can have the enjoyment of creating a cottage garden flower bed in the front yourself.
Google Cottage Garden design and get some ideas of which plants you would like, and also perhaps some decorative items - birdbaths, statuary etc. I just had a look and you can purchase cottage garden designs on Etsy.

@Artemisia that Moth Crawl sounds intriguing! You must share some photos!

This is good! Not the goo, but the changed color! I hope it was a nicer one. Good luck, don’t hurt your lungs breathing that stuff in!

Very true! Thanks, love! And thanks for the lovely blessing!

That is confusing. Maybe ask your neighbor. Tell him she hasn’t gotten back to you. Say that you haven’t been connecting with her and ask if she’s a friend. Maybe she has something personal in her life going on right now.

But if she’s not a friend, I’d move on. It’s getting to be Summer, and if you’re gonna have a garden it needs in the ground. But that’s my 2 cents worth.

That’s great! I haven’t gone swimming in so long it isn’t even funny. Not that I’d do the bikini thing. I wouldn’t want to scare the fish at the lake!

Good idea!

Maybe, but I do specific prayers. Like I ask for the blessing of the First Quarter Moon this morning. So I’ll have to fix it next ritual. Apologize or something. LOL!

I just got tired of it looking the same. I’ve had some of that stuff up since March, it was time.

I hope that happens for you! And your Moth Crawl seems wonderful! If only to hold a raven and crow! Very cool!

Nice! I’m looking forward to seeing it!

Thanks, love!

Ugh! I’m sure there’s a lesson to be learned here… I was visiting a website that I have a paid membership for and got a private message that appeared to be from their support about some suspicious activity and needing to verify my identity.

Now I know better than this, but I stupidly gave the numbers of my debit card and a credit card! You know what’s coming next don’t you…?

Yep - luckily I keep a close eye on my accounts and a week later I happened to see an “authorization” for $0.80 pending. I knew if I didn’t dispute it, the next transaction would be for thousands. So I called the bank, still not realizing at the time how this had happened, I only remembered about the “verifying identity” thing while on the phone with the bank. They cancelled the credit card and got a new one started for me.

And this morning, I saw two texts from the bank about suspicious activity on my debit card. One of which they declined, but the other was processing … in the amount of $1900 !!!

So by that time I was familiar with how to dispute a charge and open a claim. So that’s what I did. A new debit card will be issued and the old one is cancelled. Waiting to hear when I will get my $1900 back.

And then I just spent an hour or so going through my auto-payments (including my Spells 8 membership) and changing the payment information.

I’m just so mad at myself for falling for that crap and giving them not one, but two card numbers!!!

Oh my goodness @Greenbriar, remember May of 2025 I had the man call me from the bank and tricked me into given out a 5 digit code to prove I was me? That is a nightmare I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy (except for the hacker). It literally took months to get everything.

Welcome new members, and congratulations @Moonbeam!

I never know what day of the week it is! I count the 4 days off and 4 days on thing.

Thank the gods you don’t have to get it out of carpet. In the 1980’s I managed an apartment complex and there was no way to get cat pee smell out of carpet. We had to pull up the carpet and padding, and clean the floor with bleach before installing new carpet. In the early 90’s I rented a townhouse and someone before me had a cat that liked to go on the stairs. When I told the manager about the smell, he gave me a little bottle of some kind of enzyme that didn’t do anything. I lived for the next 2 years with the smell of cat pee!

I wish you luck @Feathertip! I live in the country, and it’s hard to find someone to do a job out here . I need to get my porch rebuilt. I don’t like advertising for that kind of thing because there are too many people that answer the ad that just got out of prison. How do I know? Because I worked at the county jail for 10 years!

Sounds like our usual weather in June, but we have had cool temperatures and rain. We will probably be in a drought in July and August though. You need to do like @katharina and put on your bikini! You have that gorgeous lake to swim in.

I hope everyone has a beautiful week! I picked a few of my sunflowers so I can enjoy them in the dark.

My body is lopsided where I’m losing weight. So yeah, that’ll be fun to stuff into a bikini top.

When you don’t work, it’s difficult to keep track of what day of the week it is too! I try to check every day. But I’ve been known to get it wrong and think it’s Wednesday all day on a Tuesday. I hate it when that happens.

I LOVE YOUR SUNFLOWERS! So pretty and bright! Thank you for sharing with us!

Thank you.

It has taken her this long and she hasn’t started yet?!? The garden ought to have had time to get rooted and start producing by now. She’s obviously not able to handle your business. Nothing against her personally. You have seen how nice her work is via your neighbor, or you wouldn’t have contacted her- right? She’s obviously a small business, and she just doesn’t have the time or manpower to handle everything coming her way. This happens on occasion. Nothing was intended against you.

As for the confusion in plans, she may have misplaced or shuffled the notes she took. This is a sign of being too busy. If she cannot deliver what you want to live with, you have the responsibility of turning elsewhere because it’s your home, your money, your time. This is a boundary no one should cross. Ever. Mother Nature has set part of that boundary: work with Her instead.

Your neighbor doesn’t have to know anything. If he asks, just tell him she was too busy this year and let it go at that: you don’t have to volunteer information.

Good luck getting the dead trees removed safely. Perhaps focus on the flagstones and leave the rest of the garden ideas until next spring? Maybe contact someone in February so you have time for the planning? See what needs to be planted in fall for best results and leave the rest.

This may indicate something waiting in the wings which will change everything for you, something for which you may need the money you had saved for the project. Be patient. If it is meant to be, it will happen smoothly; and if not, there are bigger plans in the works.

No. You aren’t. She’s just too busy. No hints, there: please don’t read more into it than need be. The professional way to handle it would have been immediate care, but she was the one who dropped the ball. If she contacts you again, give her back the crickets, unless you have a garden toad to eat them. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: This was her loss, not yours. :purple_heart:

Good way to look at it. Yet there is also something in the works for you too. It will turn out good.

Will you need a pencil and paper with which to draw that blood or some garlic to keep the vampires away? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I’m so happy for you. It sounds like a wonderful experience. The corvids will remember you and tell their friends about you.

Woah! Good thing you caught it early enough to make a difference. May your accounts be straightened out quickly and smoothly.

I’m sorry this happened to you. At the same time, part of me is glad I’m not alone in this. Thank you for understanding.

Lovely!

Thank you, sweetie! I do have another landscaper in mind and their website is saying they don’t mind taking “small jobs” that others won’t do. They’re been in business (family-owned and run) for over 30 years so clearly they’re doing something right!

I do have my design all figured out and a lengthy list of flower possibilities.

This is exactly what I’ve been thinking! They were both out puttering yesterday and I ~almost~ wandered over there, but something said, Not yet. I’m trying to taking it day by day, which is about the most torturous thing I can inflict on my little brain! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I am SO sorry this happened to you! And try to meditate on this to forgive yourself the “crime” of trust.

This is what makes it all so evil: you had zero reason to suspect that someone would join a website just to target paid members, but that’s exactly what that scumbag did. You are only “guilty” of trusting the message you got and trying to verify your identity (which, in today’s online world, happens all the time, with having to enter codes via text and other so-called multi-step processes). Avoid the trap of thinking that you did anything wrong, this is all on someone very well-versed in predatory behavior. You were smart to immediately watch your accounts and notify the bank and get that credit card cancelled. Since you’ve already notified them there’s a darn good chance you’ll get that money back, and you’ve updated all your auto-pay information.

Thieves can steal a lot more than our money - they can steal our opinions of ourselves and our ability to look at the world through fundamentally trusting eyes. Don’t let them take that away.

Thank you, babe! I lived in the Georgia country for 7 years and agree - it’s very hard to find people to come out and do these handyman-type jobs! Even on sites like “Next Door” you don’t really know who you’re going to get. Thank you for that tidbit!

I have mad Sunflower envy! :joy: :sunflower: Gorgeous babies!

Good point! And yes, some of this project may indeed have to be kicked down the road. In Michigan, June is still like May as far as weather, so if things were to happen soon it would be fine. No major planting in July and for the remainder of summer.

Thank you for this pep talk! I am trying to stay Zen about it and let some more days go by before taking any (or no) action.

@Artemisia please will you post some of your photos would love to see them. Getting so close up and holding the birds must have been rewatching. You are definitely living life and lots of good memories. Hoping you get some rest bite from the heat and humidity soon

@Eira_of_the_Living_Hearth that is good news a chance to stop and catch your breath

@Greenbriar looking forward to seeing your creation and many blessings for your upcoming appointments. That is awful experience and upsetting. Don’t be to hard on yourself it happens a lot they just target anyone. You were quick to realise and stopped them. Definitely a lesson to us all and thank you for thinking of us and sharing this.
