Congratulations to @georgia and @Sivonnah! You make this place merry and bright!

Happy Full Moon everyone! I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday weekend and is looking forward to New Year’s. I had too much chocolate pie and carbs so it was very good for the most part except for my blood sugar. LOL! Great for my tummy though.

Hope you all have a good week!

Congratulations, you two! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I’m looking forward to the Full Moon this week so I can kick off life in my house. It needs to be cleansed, I have some goals to set up, and I have some spirits to say hello to. We went to the river yesterday. It wasn’t so much a hello, nice to meet you type of visit for me. It was more of a… I need to see the area and familiarize myself with it first.

While we don’t currently have snow on the ground, there is ice on the shore of the river. It was too busy for me yesterday to get a feel for the energy of the area. I was too focused on walking around with my family and our reactive dog (she’s 9 months old but very anxious and excited) – I will go back soon to make proper introductions.

I also found a spot in my backyard that would make a great outdoor altar space for giving offerings. I need to meditate and meet the spirits of the area first, but I think it’ll be a great spot!

It’s a place where several trees meet and grow out of the ground creating a sort of hidden circle of trees!

@MeganB It all looks so lovely :green_heart:

That will make a beautiful altar!

It’s a very beautiful place, @tracyS  I have to remember, too, that it’s a dangerous river. It’s not just a beautiful, serene place. This river is old and feels very timeless. Just last week, this happened a few miles from my town. Luckily, my town wasn’t hit this bad, but still…

I hope so, @Ostara :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I can’t wait to sit out there with a candle and some offerings!

@MeganB oh my. That’s bad. I hope the people are ok. :green_heart:

It looks like you’ve moved to a beautiful area, @MeganB! And the base of that tree will be perfect for you! I hope everyone is safe from the flooding.

I too am looking forward to the Full Cold Moon. I plan on gathering moon water to use in future spells and doing the Full Cold Moon Ritual: December Full Moon Magic: Water & Candle Ritual – Spells8

I’ve been working through the Spellcasting 101 course and am on the Altar lesson: Your First Pagan Altar: Basic Layout and Ideas – Spells8

I’ve always had an ancestor altar in my home office. But this lesson motivated me to finally put together my first formal altar (instead of just grabbing stuff and doing spells in random places).

I inherited a small wooden rolling cart and embroidered cloth from my grandmother in France, and chose to use this piece of furniture for my altar because of the connection to my family, the size, and its ability to roll. The altar cloth was already there, not pagan, but oh well. I added some Yule related natural objects from the yard - pine needles and pinecones. The statue on the left is a Chinese guardian lion dog, a female with her cub. I had a white candle (multi-purpose) at the center and candle holder to the right with black candle in it (for protection). The blue design plate is a wolf with a celtic cross pattern that is intended for you to trace with your finger to calm yourself. The two jars, one blue has moon water, the red has sea salt. The stones: Black onyx: protection, Blue angelite: spiritual communication, Selenite wand: peace.

I pulled an oracle card focused on my new altar and it is displayed: Give Love (from the Everyday Witch Oracle). The main thing I’m missing right now is a stick incense stand. I’ve just held the stick incense as they burn and then put them out in a plant to snuff them. Any tips for good incense stands?

I have the altar located in what I call my solarium. It’s really just a sunroom, but I like the word solarium! And the reason it works great for spellwork is that the windows can be opened for cross ventilation for smoke (when it’s not super cold) and there is no smoke detector in there and there is a ceiling fan.

This card I pulled reminds me that life is short and that I need to give the love I feel today. So I want to give love back by appreciating this warm and welcoming community. Thank you.
Hope everyone has a great week and enjoys the full moon tomorrow.

If it’s the cold moon there, does that mean it’s a hot moon here?

Congratulations, @georgia and @Sivonnah!

@MeganB What a beautiful area! And your newfound outdoor altar area also looks wonderful.
