First of all, congratulations @Feathertip for being all around awesome! You go! Way to witch!

I’ve decided that witch is a verb now, too. If Google can be a verb, so can witch.

I’ve got nothing big going on with me this week. I’ve decided that I can’t figure out what badges I need, so I’ll go over the skills I want to practice for the weekly challenge. That means sigils. I may combine it with some pop culture magic and use an Iron Man symbol for the base of the sigil. We’ll see.

I’ve been feeling a bit burnt out, so I’ve stopped my morning rituals for the most part. I wanna start over again on the New Moon. We’ll see how that goes.

Other than that, I’m just reading and playing with recipes.

Hope everyone has a good week!

Welcome to our wonderful new members! We’re happy you’re here. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I have to brag on my mom for a minute. Last week I attended the annual Mother’s Day Luncheon at the assisted living complex where she lives.

This year, she won a competition for her dessert submission, beating out dozens of other entries. Her dessert was her infamous cheesecake, that I grew up eating at the end of just about every big family holiday meal.

They printed out her recipe and placed it on a table showing the whole meal.

And here is Chef Louis, who baked it for the whole crowd, with the 99-year old champion:

She had a great time! I was very happy for her.

No appointments for me this week - hoping to get back together with this landscaper, now that she has a better understanding of the project.

In the meantime I’m tapping my toes waiting for warmer weather! I bought some annuals over the weekend, but it’s still dipping down into the 40sF every night and it looks like several more days before we warm up for the season. :sun: So sunny during the days! I’m ready to get my hands in the dirt! :sunflower:

I’m also welcoming the Baltimore orioles to my backyard again.

From last year:

Wishing everyone a wonderful week!

Thank you! And I agree - we all “witch” in various ways around here, right? As usual, you’re on top of it.

This sounds very promising - I like the idea!

I’m sorry you’re feeling burnt out. It’s a natural thing, in my opinion, we’re not trained seals. Maybe the New Moon will give you inspiration - not stop morning rituals, but try different ones that serve you in other ways?

Enjoy your quiet time!

I get that way. I don’t think it is unusual. When it happens, I try to relax and Fish (Lenormand Fish card - go with the flow  ). For me, it is when I bite off too much or go too long on something.

@BryWisteria - You da witch! I love logging in on Monday to see what you have for us.

And well you should! What a nice result. I loved your pictures… they made me smile this morning.

Congrats on your wonderful awards for the week. You are helping us all with nice comments and hearts.

I’m still waking up this morning… just finished my first coffee and might have to get another. SO was not feeling well last night so I stayed up late. Our wonder mutt was worried and made sure I paid attention!.

I finished Neil Gaiman’s Norse Mythology last week and I keep thinking about how well it was written (of course… it is Gaiman) but also how it deviated from the norm. Spoiler: Ragnarok is not in the past - it is coming.. He used the Eddas in a fun way - making dialogue that was stilted come to life by using it in a contemporary manner.

Example

“Loki,” he said. “Loki has done this.”

“Why do you say that?” said Sif, touching her bald head frantically, as if the fluttering touch of her fingers would make her hair return.

“Because,” said Thor, “when something goes wrong, the first thing I always think is, it is Loki’s fault. It saves a lot of time.”

:tada: Congratulations on the double shout outs :tada: and thank you @Feathertip for sharing so much of your wisdom :owl: and so much of your love  with us!

Started my week off with helping take care of adoption cats, walking the trails on the shelter’s property birding then hitting the grocery store on the way home. Weather is weird, as usual I guess, it’s chilly and overcast which I’m fine with as long as we get rain out of it, but not sure that’s going to happen.

I have a birding field trip tomorrow, Newt’s recheck appointment for his eye and am helping pace for Saturday’s RuntheBoro group run.

On a fun note. I found a cool event coming up beginning of June for moth watching. There’s three locations with lamps and sheets set up to do moth population counts. I’ve got a couple other of my science nerd friends to come with me. Super excited about it! :crescent_moon:

Wishing everyone a fantastic start to their week! Think I’m off to get in a cat nap to pre charge batteries for tomorrow.

This is a mixed week for me. Today is my sister’s birthday and she would have been 41 this year. I lost her a year and a half ago and it doesn’t feel easier yet.

But I am also leaving for my ladies only beach vacation to South Padre Island, TX on Thursday. So…a mixed week. Going to do this one later. :crescent_moon: Spell to Honor a Loved One’s Passing - Recipes - The Spells8 Forum

Thank you @SilverBear it is a lovely spell.

Agreed. Also an adjective…“Feathertip is the witchiest!”

Congrats to your mom! She looks very proud! I always appreciate a good cheesecake! Lucky that you got to grown up with an award winning cheesecake!!

Same!! My family gave me their Mother’s Day gifts in the form of hard labor! It was perfect and we have 3 HUGE new beds to fill. But, with frost advisories still coming in this week, I have decided to wait until I get back from vacation. It will also allow me to not worry if my husband and sons are watering the new baby sprouts.

Good luck. I know that it is hard to get back on track. But I do agree with Feathertip that this may be a perfect chance to start a new ritual, or add different elements into your existing routine. Its the perfect time to try new things and see what might work once you start with the New Moon. Don’t forget to look kindly at yourself and give yourself grace.
Have an amazing week!!

Blessings Monday everyone.

Merry Meet! to all our new members and welcome to the Infinite Roots Coven. Have fun looking around the Forum.

@Feathertip congratulations on your double shout-outs, thank you for all the  and support you have shown to us all. Well done. It is lovely to see a photo of your Mom and I would like to add my Congratulations to her on her baking success. You must be so proud. How wonderful that the Chef baked it for everyone. I wish I could try some! Love your photo of the garden bird.

@Amethyst your sigils sound amazing I look forward to reading your challenge entries. Wishing you a relaxing week. Sending energy blessings.

@BryWisteria thank you for the updated news letter. Looking forward to Tea Ritual.

@dan3 dogs definitely make sure that they get your attention mine go between my legs when I am vacuuming and run around me and tell me when it is bedtime as they want to go bed. Bless :paw_prints:

@Artemisia wow you have a busy week. Please post any photos you take as I always like to see them as it is different in your part of the world. It is lovely to explore with you. Blessings to the animals and Newt’s recheck appointment for his eye.

My best friend is coming on Wednesday for our monthly catchup and my beauty treatments. Looking at what to do for the challenges.

Wishing everyone a peaceful, blessed week.

Aww, I’m glad they made you smile.

Hope the SO is feeling better today. If for no other reason than to relax the wonder mutt! :joy:

Interesting! I’ve only read one from him but I appreciate that he’s a good writer.

Thank you love! I hope Newt’s followup appointment is uneventful and everything is healing nicely.

I love the sound of this moth watching event! How cool! I know you’ll snag photos for us if that’s possible in this scenario - might be challenging. Have fun on the birding field trip tomorrow!

Oh, bless you. :people_hugging: A year and a half seems a drop in the bucket, time wise. I’m sure this is still pretty raw for you. Here’s hoping your beach vacation is a great distraction and lets you feel a bit more rested in spirit.

OMG!! I might have to make myself a badge for that one!

We always stood around the kitchen and watched her assemble it. Oh, the cream cheese…oh, the butter…oh, the decadence of it all! (Who cares when you’re a kid, right?)

Gah!! We’re in the same boat. I’ve been tapping my toes impatiently for what seems like a month (though I’m sure it’s only been a few weeks)!

Thank you, babe!

Enjoy your visit Wednesday with your bestie! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Hello all, I’m back! (For the most part)

Visit with my oldest daughter and my grandbabies is officially complete and I am utterly exhausted. The week was jam packed with activities, chaos, and emotions. The kids have sooooo much energy. My daughter was an emotional mess. She didn’t want to leave me when it was time to go. I so wish I had the means to move to Washington. It hurts my heart to see her hurting. But we did have fun and that’s what it’s all about.

I spent Mother’s Day cleaning up the house after their visit and relaxing with my youngest and the pets, who let me tell you, are glad life is back to normal lol.

I haven’t done much in my practice lately. I’m so tired I don’t want to do much of anything. My body was pushed beyond its limits this last week, and recovery is going to take a minute. I think I’m going to step back from life for a little bit and concentrate on me.

Congrats, sis, on your shoutout, welcome to new members, and I hope everyone has a most blessed week ahead!

Love you bunches!

Blessed Be. :herb: :dizzy:

@shanna5 I am sorry that I missed your post. Loss of love one is hard but she is in your  always. Your ritual sounds beautiful and comforting. I hope your trip gives some lightness to your week. Sending blessings to you :last_quarter_moon:

Thank you so much. I really appreciate the kind words. I really liked that one too and I think it will give me some peace tonight.

I missed you last week, sis, and was hoping you were having a blast. :beating_heart: Glad it all went well!

It’s a heartache to hear this! Beautiful that you two are close and she loves to have you around, but sad that you live far away from each other.

Yes - this has to be the takeaway. :raising_hands:

I think you’re very wise to listen to your body and know when some self-care is needed. Great to see you back here and I’m so happy it was a fun time.

Now it’s time to decompress! Take all the time you need, we have the lights on for you. :sparkles:

Wow! That’s awesome! That sounds like a good cheesecake. Yum!

And your Mom doesn’t look 99 years old! Wow.

I hope she has some good ideas for you. If not, you may want to switch.
What a beautiful Oriole! So pretty!

I dunno about on top of it, I just wanted to use that word.

That’s a good idea, I just don’t know what I want to do that’s new to switch things up. I’d switch it to evenings, but there’s too much noise in the building then.

I think that may be it. Or it may be where my sleep schedule has gotten weirder. We’ll see.

I’m gonna have to read this. I wish someone would do something like this for Irish Mythology. Or has someone, and I missed it?

Wow. That’s a big day! And a busy week.

That sounds interesting! Do you like, identify the moths, or just count them?

I’m sorry, dear heart. You have my condolences.

That sounds interesting! And I’ve heard that’s a beautiful location!

Good one!

That sounds good, I just don’t know what to do! I’ll have to think about it. Maybe do some playing on the internet. But if anyone has any ideas, shout them out!

Thanks, love! I think I know what I want it to do, I just have to figure out what it looks like. That’s the hard part.

That’ll be great! I hope y’all have fun!

I’m glad you had fun, and that y’all got to spend time together!

That’s where I was at. It’ll do you good to rest for a while.

There are all kinds of Celtic books and I have a few but I mostly learned about them from digging up stories and using the AIs. It would be great if an author with the chops of Gaiman did something.

One way of self study is to ask an AI for the deities to be used for the archetypes for Lenormand cards. It then assigns the big names to the cards with justification and I go out and ask for their stories. This doesn’t work for some myths that don’t use deities as such.

Here is an example with the cards but, of course, the cards aren’t necessary. This is Tarot but Lenormand works.

Congratulations @Feathertip and thank you for everything you do!

I had that same problem on the last catch up challenge. I know there are quite a few I don’t have, I just need tonfind them!

@Feathertip that’s awesome about your mom’s recipe, and she doesn’t look a day over 70!

@dan3 I hope your SO is feeling better.

@Artemisia have fun on your field trip!

Have fun! I’ve never been to South Padre, but I have heard it’s beautiful. My son lives an hour away from there, but he lives 8 hours away from me. Texas is a big state.

Have fun @Moonbeam!

Welcome back @Eira_of_the_Living_Hearth!

Tonight will be my last night of the work week. I have so many unfinished projects at home to do while I’m off, so I will be busy.

I hope everyone has a beautiful week!

Congrats to her, that’s so fun! The cheesecake looks deeeeelicious too :face_savoring_food:

Awww shucks, thanks, Dan! I used to wonder what it would be like to be a post office worker (my aunt is one) - I imagine it’s similiar to delivering the weekly news! :+1:

It’s my pleasure, Moonbeam! I’m looking forward to tea ritual time with you later this week

Sounds like a busy time for many folks! Wishing you all a wonderful week :two_hearts:

Yeah, that’s what I want. Too bad Anne McCaffrey passed. She was Irish, and she would have done an awesome job at it!

Good idea! I’m not interested in self study so much as a fun read though. LOL!

Those are awesome cards though! Like, professional looking!

Yeah, I tried to figure it out, but with all the badges, it got too confusing. I’m lazy. LOL!

It is a huge state! I once had to drive it lengthwise when I was changing duty stations and it took an entire day!! You should look into a vacation there! Its gorgeous and has a small town kind of vibe somehow. Its lovely. I know it gets crazy during certain times. But I have always felt like it was mostly old people like me down there and some families.
