Welcome to all our new members! We’re happy you’re here with us.

Congrats on the shout-outs to you both! @underwaxingmoon, you’re sharing so much of yourself and your new journey, you’ve touched our hearts. :two_hearts: So glad you’re with us!

Congrats to my Sister, @Eira_of_the_Living_Hearth for sharing her love! You rock!

Happy Monday to the Coven! Not much on tap for me yet. I may have to break down and get myself a follow-up appointment with my orthopedic doctor about my knees. I’ve been doing a lot outside and they’re both complaining. I’d love to just get a steroid shot but these doctors are sadly too cautious about overuse. How dare they! So something else must be suggested.

I might drive over to see a new landscaping company, just to dig out the roots of the 3 Emerald Green arbor vitae trees that finally died over the winter (they’ve been struggling since being uprooted by an ice storm a couple of winters ago), and plant new ones. If I like them, I might open a discussion about the front yard garden.

Another Monday, another day of silence from the other landscaper. So, this is what it feels like to be ghosted. :ghost_cat: :joy:

Wishing everyone a magickal week! :sparkles: :sparkling_heart:

Happy Monday!

A special shout-out to @BryWisteria from me. Thanks, Bry for keeping things tidy here at the forum and making each Monday something to look forward to!

OF COURSE - Welcome to our new members and congrats to @underwaxingmoon and @Eira_of_the_Living_Hearth for helping us all enjoy the forum!

'tis Spring and that comes with cleanups, fix ups, and dealing with being ā€œghostedā€ by people we hire to help. Like @Feathertip, our family is having our patience tested. We have painting and landscaping work on hold for the completion of some needed house exterior repair. Fortunately, they have more invested in the work than we do so we expect it to break free and be completed (several weeks late). We stopped payment based on our contract - we built it so we wouldn’t be left out in the cold that sometimes happens with larger contracts. Our house looks like a bedraggled hobo with incomplete siding and trim. The SO is fretting (as am I) but we both are happy about our approach.

For those into basketball here in the US (I’m not but was still impressed with the NBA finals), the winning team (Knicks) was especially happy - their first championship since 1973. That made New York (both City and State) some happy campers. I enjoy seeing people happy - there is too much grinding unhappiness in the news (as always). It was a feel good day for me.

I started work on another card deck and realized I was enjoying doing that more than actually using the completed deck. The current map for the deck is my focus. I may not worry about completing the physical deck. I’m including example quotes that are a bit funny and it has become a minor obsession.

You folks all have a great week! We’re going to shoot for that ourselves.

Thank you @BryWisteria for another wonderful roundup of the week’s activities. There is always so much going on here, having it all listed in one place is very helpful to us all.

Welcome to all our new members. We are glad you have joined us and look forward to getting to know you.

Congratulations to @underwaxingmoon and @Eira_of_the_Living_Hearth for making this forum the vibrant and loving place that it is.

Nothing much on the books for me this week, other than a couple of doctor appointments - a follow up with the hematologist (I’m apparently still mildly anemic) and my annual well-woman.

We’re expecting storms in the area this week, with potential flooding, but I’m hoping that I’ll still be able to make it to the appointments. At least I won’t have to drive and will be able to use their rideshare program to get me to and from the appointments.

I’m looking forward to Litha, although I don’t really have any particular plans for it.

Wishing everyone a very magical week

Merry Meet! to all our new members and a very warm welcome to the Forum, The Witchy News for the Week is full of information, upcoming events, notes of interest put together by our lovely @BryWisteria wonderful categories listed by my fellow coven members @dan3 @Feathertip @Eira_of_the_Living_Hearth @katharina @Artemisia @TS5 and @Amethyst who gives us inspiration of different food categories and drinks which are really good have fun looking around. We are spread across the world and everyone is very supportive, caring and helpful with anything you need it is a wonderful coven to be a part

Blessings Monday everyone

@underwaxingmoon @Eira_of_the_Living_Hearth congratulations to both of you for your shout-outs it has been lovely reading your posts. Thank you for the love you have given to all of us in our Coven.

@Feathertip from experiences of some of my family there are hoops you have to jump through, first they give you exercises and tell you to take pain relief, most of the time the damage is already been done it could be worn cartilage that might need a trim or a replacement knee. Until you say that your knees are giving way then they just tend to leave it.

I would look at it that you have probably saved yourself a lot of heartache with your previous Landscaping Company. Don’t give them a second thought. It has given you sometime and space to make any changes. I would not rush.

@dan3 I have experience of delays with a Building Company when we added a rear extension. They tried to cut corners (but as myself any Husband have renovated our home before building by adding a side extension as my a husband used to be in the Building Trade) we knew what they were doing and we ended the Contract and did not pay them the final instalment. We finished the build ourselves. They even broke our boiler cost £2,000.00 to replace and then a few months later we noticed damp on one our external bedroom walls we took the floor up and some bricks and the cavity had been bridged with rubbish. We have to clean it out which was a little tricky but it solved the problem. My advice is to watch them if something does not feel right question it you know your own home.

Glad you are enjoying your new deck

@Greenbriar Hoping your appointments will resolve your mild anaemia. I would check your Vitamin B12 levels as that can contribute to it. Lots of people have it but don’t realise.

I am only at work 3 days this week which I am so glad as I have just finished a covering and it has been very busy. Myself, Husband and our dogs are having a day trip to Cumbria on Friday. Thinking of what to do for Litha & Summer Solstice. Otherwise 2 days left to do :new_moon::green_heart:

In my best Brooklyn accent (in honor of New York’s NBA win): Landscapahs - who needs 'em?!?

(Well, seems like we do sometimes, but that doesn’t mean we have to feel like chumps!)

Hope it finishes soon, and to everyone’s satisfaction, @dan3 !

My husband and I did drive out to the other landscaping place - I wasn’t ecpecting this to happen today. I’m glad it did! We got our estimate for removal and new installation, picked out our healthy new trees, and drove away a little lighter in wallet and in mind!

Hope the appointments go smoothly! It’s so nice that you have a rideshare program with these offices. You all have had some rain this season - fingers crossed the storms aren’t severe.

Same here! That may change as I turn my full attention to it. Have a great week!

Congratulations to @underwaxingmoon and @Eira_of_the_Living_Hearth for being just awesome all around! Thank you for being you!

And hi to all the new people! Hope you like it here!

Did you know they have smaller rice bags that are square that will fit over your knee to put in the microwave? That might help you. I hope the doc has some ideas too!

I’m glad you moved on! No need to wait on them any longer. Her loss.

Sometimes you just have to get the idea out of your head a bit, and if it doesn’t go as far, that’s okay! At least you’re creating!

Good luck with those! Hope you stay dry!

Thanks, love! Glad you like them!

Nice! Although I had to look up Cumbria. Sorry. That looks like a lovely area!

The wallet is always the first to go!

I ended up going to the chiropractor for the first time this morning. He was really nice and understanding, and eased my fears before starting to poke and prod me. The neck cracking and all that didn’t hurt! I’m not sore or anything.

What got me the most was lying down face-first on the table. I haven’t lain on my tummy in like, forty years or so. I had to figure out how to do it! It wasn’t fun getting down there on that narrow table, I can tell you that. But I think it’ll help in the long run, and I got some good advice on, like, pillows and stuff, so yay!

I’m going to have to invest in a good computer chair next month. I’ve needed one, but I hate the wheels because I can never sit in them right and they scoot away from me. But then I found out there are attachments that you can get so the chair will scoot a little on carpet, but not roll! So that’s in the plans for next month.

I still have no idea what I’m doing to the Summer Solstice. I need to get my witchy butt in gear!

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Merry Meet, Fam! :sun_with_face::herb::sparkles:

I can’t believe Litha is almost here already! The Summer Solstice always feels like such a special turning point on the Wheel. I’m still deciding how I want to celebrate this year, but I’m looking forward to soaking up some sunshine, gratitude, and a little bit of midsummer magic. :fire::sunflower:

I also need to remember to post my entry for the witchy challenge, it keeps slipping my mind! I’m hoping to squeeze in a few days of divination this week as well. I’ve been missing my tarot, runes, Lenormand, and oracle cards lately.

A very happy birthday to our June celebrants:
:birthday_cake: June 15 - @katherine22 and @TommMaxx2
:birthday_cake: June 18 - @dogsnwolfs, @navacomgirl, and @tammy22
:birthday_cake: June 21 - @phoenix_dawn

May your year ahead be filled with blessings, joy, and plenty of magic! :sparkles:

A warm welcome to our new members: @Eden13, @apollyon, @erin8, @jackie8, @keri2, @lizzie, and @Yankeegirl. We’re so glad you’ve joined us and look forward to getting to know you! :purple_heart:

Congratulations to @underwaxingmoon for sharing the most posts this week! And thank you to everyone who contributes their time, wisdom, and kindness to make this community such a welcoming place.

Also, thank you so much for all the love and the shout-out. :face_holding_back_tears::purple_heart: I truly appreciate it. This coven has become such an important part of my life.

On a personal note, I’ve been dealing with several stressful situations at home lately, so if I’ve seemed a little quieter than usual, that’s why. I’m doing my best to focus on self-care, shadow work, and keeping myself balanced while navigating everything. Some weeks are about thriving, and some weeks are about simply keeping your footing, and that’s okay too.

Wishing everyone a beautiful week filled with light, growth, and a little midsummer magic.

Blessed Be :herb: :dizzy:

Merry Meet and Welcome!

Congratulations! Great job! And thank you.

Circulating calming comfort.

Here too! We :sparkling_heart: U!

I hope you can get that under control before your trip overseas!

This past weekend, we found notes on our doors: New Mexico is coming in to do inspections mid week! This has to do with the complex, so I’ll have the one for Housing still to work toward. I’ve been working on the enzymes on the floor every other day. It takes 7 rinses for the water to come out clear or pale gray. I’m not going to get the rest of the apartment done in time for the first inspection, but I’ll do all I can while I can. Exhaustion hit, this evening.

I turned on a bright light and saw a shadow on the floor between areas I have and have not sprayed with enzymes. At least I can see the enzymes are working. The smell seems to be at bay, too.

Albus has been up a lot in the nights, lately. When he sings or tap dances too early, I start cleaning the cages, but notice his attempts to go back to sleep. I turn everything off and let him get a nap before daybreak. He may be sensing the light earthquakes we have been having south of town. No damage, no injuries, but the energy can still cause interruptions, nervousness, as well as stomach issues. I haven’t felt anything at all, that I am aware of, but the building tension beforehand may have subconsciously caused some of my crankiness last week.

I bought some special summer foods for Litha. I’d still like to get a watermelon, but that may have to wait for July, now. Cantaloupe and cherries will do. It felt especially good to stock up the freezer, this month, even if most of it could cause sensitivity to arthritis. The cherries will counter the pork. Looking forward to relaxing into the holidays.

I’m so sorry, love! Sending you healing energy to help lift you up!

Eek! Good luck with that. Inspections are always nerve-wracking. Do you have pics of when you moved in? Because I’m sure it looks 110% better now than it did then! You’ve worked hard on it!

Have fun with the yummies! I hope you fix something special for yourself! I found a recipe for Cantaloupe cupcakes just yesterday that I’m gonna post Sunday! A bit late for Litha but just in time for summer!

You are very kind for the shout-outs, I’m happy the news post is enjoyed! It’s fun to dig around each Monday morning and see what’s happening for the week. Makes me feel like a bit like a witchy journalist :woman_detective: :magic_wand:

It sounds like a busy time for many folks! Whether you’re dealing with appointments, contractors, storms, projects, rest, or other happenings, I hope everything goes well for you

May it be a blessed week and a very happy solstice for everyone! :sun:

I don’t. Thank you for the support: the Housing inspector never noticed a thing when she brought me in the first time, or she would have failed this apartment. For so long, I thought it was just me being ill and frustrated. If the Housing inspector noticed nothing the first time, she ought to be just as oblivious this time.

The Spirit of Place deserves better than even what I have been able to do so far.

Mom always said that if I wanted something good, I had to work for it. The comment has helped my magick, but has been hard to live up to, this time around. It is good that leaving a place better than I found it will be super easy, here.

That’s wonderful, love! Are you feeling better today? A gentle chiropractor is a good find - I’ve had one that hurt me badly and one that was life-changing, so it matters. (I miss that helpful one; haven’t replaced her yet here.)

Agree with you about the chair - you spend a lot of time at your desk so it could be very helpful. And some of the wheels have little brakes on them, too!

I’ve used little ice packs after my home PT exercises that help. You’re right though, alternating between ice and heat is supposed to be very helpful.

I am poorer in wallet today but richer in my peace of mind! Sometimes just making up my mind is enough to feel better - quit twisting in the wind over stuff.

I hope your load gets lighter soon, Sis. :hugs: Here’s wishing you love and light for this coming Summer Solstice! :folded_hands: :sparkles:

@georgia - good luck with both your upcoming inspections! Hope Albus settles back into his more peaceful routine soon.

Enjoy your Litha menu!

:tada: Congratulations on the shout-outs:tada: and thank you @underwaxingmoon for sharing so much of your  love and @Eira_of_the_Living_Hearth for sharing so much of your :owl: wisdom with us!

Yesterday was a busy morning with lots of cats and kittens in the adoptable ward at the animal services :smiling_cat_with_heart_eyes: then a few stops of outlet and big box stores to find our next dishwasher after the heating element stopped working two nights ago. 11 years for an appliance is pretty good (in this day and age - I had a refrigerator that lasted almost 18, now we’re lucky if they make it 4) and have it schedled to arrive on friday.

I’ve got a meeting with landscaper 1 (out of 5 total) today to go over his design plan for paths and erosion mitigation (looking at having dry river beds with paver steps).
(This is the general idea for the paths - minus the hygrangia, clematis, etc - I’ll be opting for Christmas ferns, hellebores and some hostas)

Tomorrow I meet with 2 early in the morning, then come back home to wrangle two cats for their annual exams. Friday, I have a car service appointment (that I may or may not have to reschedule depending on when the dishwasher is due to be delivered. Newt is having an eye flare, again  and me - a sciatic flare. Lots going on and little time to really rest, but I get this impression that this is what retirement is going to be around here (and my SO isn’t fully retired yet!) :grimacing: :woman_shrugging: Cleaning, fixing, digging, planting, painting.

Going to get out and run some stress off in this crazy (compared to the past few days of 98+ temps) cool weather before my afternoon appointment!

Wishing everyone a great start to their week!

Edit Oh, random thought - does anyone do Tai Chi? Recommend how to get started? Find a class locally or videos online?

WOW!! We are already almost at the Solstice!! The summer is going too fast!!!

Thank @BryWisteria for keeping us all organized and on track!

Welcome to the newest members!! Don’t forget to introduce yourself and get to know the forum! So happy to have you!

@Feathertip so sorry about your knees! Getting older isn’t for the weak! I am glad you are pushing past the unreliable landscaper! Their loss!

@Amethyst I am glad that the chiropractor was not bad at all! It is an awkward way to lay. Especially if you have any kind of chest push your upper half up. Its not a real comfortable position. Let me know if you want an office chair link. I got mine for my birthday in March and am very happy with it so far! Mine always says ā€œYou will NEVER regret icing it!ā€

@Artemisia Good luck on all of your appointments! Hopefully you get all of the details ironed out. I can’t wait to see it finished! I have never done Tai Chi, but I would love to try it, so I will be watching to see what the advice is.

@Eira_of_the_Living_Hearth Sending you some extra strength to deal with that stress. I am glad that you are managing ok with some beneficial, witchy solutions!

@georgia Good luck during the inspection. I am sure all of your hard work will benefit the outcome.

OK, this week is already packed! How did that happen so quickly?! Last night was my last Encaustic art class. It was so fun to learn a new medium and ā€œpainting with beeswaxā€ is just as cool as it sounds. I will post pictures in a few days once I get them shined up! They have to cure a bit more.

Tonight is my fencing tournament! I am finishing the beginners course at our local fencing gym and they put on a mini tournament for the students. I’m not bad at all and have a good shot at it!

Other than that, I am still waiting to hear back from the job I had my 3-part interview with! I interviewed on the 4th and they ā€˜should’ have an answer by this week. I have been doing witchy stuff nearly everyday since. I am on my last green candle! Hahaha! So hopefully they will let me know soon! I am trying to not let it stress me out, but I am failing pretty bad at that!

Send me lucky and patient vibes if you have any to spare!

Have an amazing week!

@shanna5 sounds like you have a busy week good luck on your fencing tournament and @Artemisia good luck with your landscaping project. I have heard that Ta Chi is good but I have never tried it hope you find the information you need. Sending you both positive blessings

No, it’s not you. I hope all goes well, dear heart! And you have done your best!

Much better! No sore neck last night or anything! It’s really helped!

I’d worry that the brakes were off or something. No, these are like bell glides. And the chair I’ve picked out has heat and massage with a footrest! Nice! I’ve just got to wait for payday to get it.

Heat might just help ease the muscles around the joints. They get affected too. I hope it helps! I’ve been using some little, knee-high massagers for the legs with heat that might help you too! They’re just expensive.

So very true!

Wow, if that’s retired, I’d hate to see how busy you were when you worked! Sheesh! Hope you and Newt are okay, and get some rest!

Yeah, it was just awkward. Luckily, my boobs are floppy, and the table was narrow. I was able to flop a boob on either side of it for the most part, and that helped. Yeah, way too much TMI, but the truth!

Thanks! Did you get yours from Amazon? Because I have free shipping there.

Yay! I hope you did well! We’re rooting for you!

I have faith in you and your magic! But, if you don’t get that one, maybe you’ll find a better one.
