Talk like a pirate day, gotta do that now :rofl:
ā€œOoh aar and a jolly ole day it be me piratey mates, who be aving a grisly day in the skies, what with all that rain, aar.ā€ :skull_and_crossbones::rofl::joy:, oh my that was fun.
Pirates. Well let me share a little bit of Bristolā€™s Pirate History.
Bristol was founded in the 11th century, and grew into a port city. By the 14th century, it was the second largest city in England. By the 16th century it became the centre for piracy. Privateers and pirates would operate out of Bristol, attacking Spanish, Portuguese ships in the Atlantic amongst others. Due to our cityā€™s dubious past our local accent, Bristolian, has become synonymous with pirates, ā€œHark at heā€, a famous pirate expression, is still used today, which means look at him. " Alright my lover", = how are you. "That be Gert lush that ", = oh that is lovelyā€¦ I do love my city lol. :rofl::skull_and_crossbones:
The most famous legendary pirate is Blackbeard , presumed to have been born and lived in Bristol around the turn of the 18 century. He was very bad, and light fuses in his beard making his beard smoke. :bomb: He had a famous hideaway cave under St Mary Redcliffe church which you can still visit.

The above link shows you a sample of our dubious history.
Ahoy me hearties :sparkling_heart::skull_and_crossbones:

@Ostara pirates are the cause of global warming according to the Pastsafarians. The less pirates the hotter it gets.

Thanks for the good vibes, @BryWisteria! Iā€™ve asked someone else to put together my desk, Iā€™ll find out today if its possible.

Sending you much energy @MeganB! Hope you get everything done.

Itā€™s been such a weird week. I have been sick, but working through it. Wednesday night hubby went to bed around 7 because he had to get up for work at 3. I have been having problems taking my dog out because of the dog next door. She is very friendly, but my dog is very aggressive. I talked to my neighbor a few months ago about his dog and for a few weeks I didnā€™t see her. For the last month I have had to watch for her (I call her CuJo because she has shown up out of the fog) and if she was outside I couldnā€™t walk Buddy. I walk my dog on a leash, he has a harness, and we bought him a mussel, just in case. I always use the retractable leash because I leave it at about 2 feet. If itā€™s any longer I could lose control of him. On Tuesday night, hubby took him out and instead of using the leash he likes, he took the leash I use. Blue was outside. He had the leash out a pretty good length, and when buddy started running he broke the leash. l got stuck on the porch steps a few weeks ago because she ran up on us and I couldnā€™t get him in the house fast enough, the only thing that saved me was the leash was only out 2 feet and I somehow got him in the house. Heā€™s a strong dog, part lab and part pit bull, and the pit bull comes out in him when he sees Blue (Cujo). On Wednesday night he wanted to go outside so I looked to see if Blue was any where around. She usually hangs out in the front field with the horses, and I didnā€™t see her. I put Buddyā€™s harness and mussel on, but I had to use one of the regular leashes. It was only 4 ft long, but every foot counts when it comes to me controlling this dog. He was doing his business and wanted to go closer to the drive way. Against my better judgement we walked out there then my worst nightmare came true. I saw her coming across the field, and we were closer to her then the house and I had that awful leash on him. I wrapped the leash around my arm and held onto his harness. Blue literally jumped on his back (talk about poking a grizzly bear). She was playing but he thought she was attacking. He whipped around. I lost my grip on the harness and the leash. My sandals cut into the top of my feet and I kicked them off. The leash was still wrapped around my arm so I took a hold of it. Buddy had Blue on the ground and thank the Gods for the mussel or he would have killed her. Blue was screaming and I jerked Buddy away from her toward the house. She ran home, but not without picking up a little trophy (aka my shoe) along the way. I had cuts on my feet, and a twisted ankle. I woke hubby up and told him that I have had it with the dog and am calling the police. So the police came out and took a report and told the neighbor that I got hurt protecting his dog and he canā€™t let the dog run lose. I havenā€™t seen Blue in the last two days, so hopefully this guy will be true to his word this time. I guess now I have an enemy for a neighbor. Iā€™m glad the week is over!
