:air_element: WITCH CHALLENGE - Air Magick

Merry meet!

Thank you once again to all those who joined in for last week’s Witch Challenge - Fire Magick :fire_element:

As above, so below, and one element leads into the next. After exploring fire magick last week, we’re moving into a neighboring force. Look to the sky and get ready to fly - we’re soaring! :wing:

The theme for this challenge is…

:air_element: :feather: Air Magick :leaf_fluttering_in_wind: :tornado:

Air is the element of the vast sky and open space. It is the air we breathe and the thoughts we think. As the least tangible of the physical elements, air is also associated with ideas. This is the element of thought, the mind, and space, so feel free to open up and be extra creative with this one! The air element is a great topic to explore magickal theory, ideas, and knowledge :open_book:

There are some suggestions for how to explore this theme below, and if you’re looking for additional inspiration, feel free to revisit entries shared in the previous air-aligned challenge: Witchy Challenge: Of the Element Air

This is hilarious to me because I’m sitting here just absolutely exhausted (for no apparent reason?) and I could use some wind in my sails :joy: But! This challenge has given me another idea – since I’m experimenting with energy work and casting spells with no tools, I might try the same thing with air that I’ve been doing with candles and fire… now I just need to figure out what to do.

Here we go.

I’m not sure I would know where to start with this one were it not for the fact that I found something on my run this morning that I brought home. This was before I even saw the theme for this challenge. There’s a little bit of prep that I have to do first, so it might be a few days before I have an entry to submit. :black_bird: :skull:

I am an air fairy type of person. This is one of my strong points. In my youth, I found out that all people had to do was make a wish in my presence, and it would come true. Not sure how that worked, but it worked well.

With that in mind, I have two challenge entries… for the moment.

Challenge Entry 1

When I learned about making wishes come true, one of the tricks of the process had people cumfuzzled. It is said that one must be willing to pay for a wish to come true. Most people think they don’t have the money, so the wish won’t come true for them. When you truly feel that money is not all there is to pay with, you suddenly become the richest person in the world!

What I’m going to give you right now is head knowledge. Truly feeling the truth of it is the turning point. If you are aware of what is coming, you can make the most of it when it happens.

Let’s think this through using a parable. You go to a museum and learn something. There is a payment system at work. Yes, you may pay a few dollars to get in the door, but there’s more!

  1. You pay for knowledge by sacrificing not knowing.
  2. You are spending time out of your life which you will never get back.
  3. It takes energy to get to the museum and to walk around the museum.
  4. You are trading the sight of your four walls and any usual videos you may have otherwise watched.
  5. Museums are social events, as are anything not spent at home alone. This is a payment, believe it or not!
  6. You are offering an open mind just by walking in the museum door. This is a valuable commodity.
  7. In going to the museum with a friend, you may be making that friend’s day or changing them forever by allowing them to learn as well. What a wonderful sacrifice! Besides, it may even lighten your own mood in the process.

Now plug in making a wish for the museum. All of the above statements of payment are still true, including energy expenditure.

Most of all, when making a wish come true, you are sacrificing mere survival in order to thrive.

Challenge Entry 2
Last night at bedtime, we had the perfect storm for the spell I wanted to do, this week. This is a spell in multiple parts, some more airy than others.

  1. Calling the Quarters
    “Lightening flash.
    Winds rustle.
    Thunder rumble.
    Rain mourn.
Storm, cleanse our world. Wash away all negativity. Make the world new and good.”

  2. Drawing my ship.
I took pencil and paper and drew a ship. I like square riggers, but it could be any kind.

  3. Sending it out into the world.
“I load my ship with well wishes, joy, light, music, laughter, and fun. We’ve spent nice days exploring and learning, and have received the gift of attention. I send attention and care out with my ship and request it return with new sources of all these good things. May the captain find and bring back sources of creativity and Purpose.”

  4. Meditation
Watching the rain water flowing down the drive, imagining it rolling along the city’s arroyos (ditches) to the Rio Grande and out into the Gulf of Mexico so the ship floats out around the world to gather treasures.

  5. Closing
"Rain, wash away negativity. Wash in good things.
Thunder, shake loose all the things we cling to which do not serve us anymore, that they may be washed by the rain to someone who can use them as something good and cleansed and renewed.
Wind, blow the sails of my little ship safely on its way and safely home again.
Lightening, illuminate my path. Show me the way m Soul needs to go. Grant me enlightenment and wisdom. Reveal the tools along the way which may come in handy, later.
Storm, sing me to sleep. Grant me sweet dreams. May the things I release be found as treasures by someone who can use them.

  6. Waiting for my ship to come in
Taping my ship pic to a wall so it looks like it is coming into the apartment.
