I lit my candle and started the ritual with:
I call upon the mirror, the watcher, and the witness.
I call upon the shadow, the one who holds my truth.
I call upon healing, not to erase my pain,
but to hold me through it.

Then looking into the mirror ,I said (edited for privacy):
This is what I carry
I grieve… said what I am grieving
I fear…
I need…

I picked up the skull, then looked at my reflection
Keeper of shadows, guide me into truth.
Let what I bury speak. Let what I fear be known.
Let healing come in the space between darkness and light

I placed the skull back on the table facing the mirror and imagined it now holding the pieces I can’t understand or don’t know. Letting my grief rest there.

I closed my eyes, placed my hands over my heart, and meditated for a few minutes.
Then, after blowing out the candles, I disposed of the black salt, which had absorbed the negativity I release,d and said

What was released does not return.

I’m working on my journal prompt now.

@BryWisteria, if I have to leave in the middle of the challenge, but did the entry, will you be able to put the badge onto my account so it’s waiting for me when I return? I won’t be able to pay my dues until after I get moved. Just curious.

Thank you @Jeannie1 and @carrianne

@Jeannie1 I did use one of my past rituals as a guide and molded it to fit this purpose.

@carrianne To be fair, I made beaded jewelry for 30 years, so I had a loooooot of supplies left over. I kept my favorites when I shifted away from gemstone jewelry into working with metal clay.

Absolutely, Georgia! Anyone who participates in the challenge gets their badge, regardless of membership status. I want to make sure everyone who puts in the effort gets their reward :trophy:

We will miss you if you need to step back for a bit, but I understand needing to focus on the big move while it happens! Relocating is a huge process. Wishing you all the best over the coming weeks - may it all go smoothly for you!

Thank you. So far, things are going smoothly. The Creator often keeps my new home secret until the last minute, so I go with the flow. If I knew early, I’d be champing at the bit to get stuff done when what I need is enough rest to get through it!

Oddly enough, this moving process is a metaphorical mirror, letting me see who I really am under certain forms of pressure. Call this my
Challenge Entry

I’m definitely not a diamond, not even in the rough. Under stress, my first and only thought is escape. My family never could handle stress. That is our genetic disability, causing all kinds of other stuff, which are the symptoms shrinks look for. Like other doctors, shrinks think they know it all and refuse to dig out the deeper cause or find a cure.

I am able to see that there are deeper causes than just the inability to handle stress. Thing is, I don’t have the ability to change outer causes. Changing myself to match their expectations adds even more stress and does not honor personal experience nor my personality. Maybe my personality isn’t the proper way to live, but for the moment, it is all I have which is truly mine. I’m not passing it down to another generation, so it will die out with my body. All I have to do is get through this final incarnation to remove all the disease and disability handed to me.

In this mirror, I see what I have lost through Covid distancing. There was a lot of good there before. I’d like to reproduce the good when the stress releases. Over my last 3 moves, the stress has not released. Thus all I can do is my best under the circumstances. The info is available for when I can finally return to my true self. Until then, all I can do is go with the flow.

The danger is going to be deciding what to reproduce. Of course, I’ll try to do it all at once, get confused and overwhelmed, attempt to rein in and hold my horses, yet still overdo and make mistakes. I learn from some of my mistakes, so I don’t repeat them, but there is always the deeper cause of the mistakes in general. That’s more difficult to rectify because it’s harder to see and pin down. At least I know to look.

I see in this mirror that I have been simplifying my life. Good, as far as it goes… Simplifying isn’t just the stuff we store for later and then never use. It isn’t just the clutter of too much abundance. I’m learning that simplifying my life includes rearranging my time from expectations to things and people I truly care about, things and people which care for or take care of me; and to reduce the inner emotions from feelings of stress and fear toward peace and happiness.

For me, happiness is working on things I enjoy, things which are meaningful to me. Thus I won’t be sitting still and being lazy or sleeping through my life the way I have been under stress. Under stress, nothing gets done because my body shuts down or I get super busy at nothing as I run to escape.

Can some explain how the Challenges work? Sorry to be a pain! @georgia @Amethyst

Also, I’ve never done Mirror Magick before! I’m a little scared to do Mirror Magick too, THats why I’ve never done it… can anyone maybe put my mind at ease?

It’s easy, you find something to do with the challenge subject, and you either report on it or just do it. Like, if you’re hesitant to do mirror magick, figure out why and tell about it. Or find a small spell that you think is safe and do it, or write one. When you post about it, make sure you put your name in so @BryWisteria can find it easily. That’s it! It’s just hard to find something to do sometimes.

I’m struggling because I don’t do mirrors that much. I only have two in my apartment, and one I don’t use. LOL! So yeah, I gotta do some research this week and figure out what to do.

Good luck!

@Amethyst Thank you so much! I appreciate you for taking the time to type all of that! You are such a great person!

Aww, thanks! You’re sweet to say so. I’m glad it helped!

To “put your name in,” we just add the words “Challenge Entry” above the part to be used as an entry. You can post it here or (like I did last challenge) wherever it seems to fit. If it is elsewhere, simply add an @ to BryWisteria so she gets notified and finds it. Some people like to put private ideas onto Sacred Space where other internet searches can’t see. Others just add comments to posts (group ritual, etc) and find out midway that the comment would fit in the challenge.

That’s what makes it a perfect challenge. Stretch your experience and see if you like it. There’s nothing to be afraid of. You won’t melt into the mirror and get stuck in some other world like Alice or Coraline. It will either work to help you or not. Either way, you will have something new under your belt as a tool- which may help your clients, too.

I don’t like mirrors. Never liked looking at myself in them because so many people called me names. That will never change, now. I don’t care to change it. However, mirrors can be physical objects, imaginative doorways to dream worlds within, a book to write about what you’re learning about yourself, or something more metaphorical or symbolic.

Sorry you will be gone. Waiting for your return! Get settled and come back as soon as you can!

I’ve never done mirrors so I think I’ll do it as a complete newbie. Do the ritual and relate what happened. I do have a black mirror that I picked up when I didn’t know where my path was leading so I have a nice prop.

Challenge entry

This is going to be a different entry, there are no physical mirrors. Instead I want to explore how we can be mirrors to each other.

When we hold space for each other, allowing them to open up to us, listening attentively or sometimes just being and letting the energy do it, we’re mirroring. Neurologists even talk about mirror neurons, that activate when we’re deeply feeling each other. Our minds bring up relatable experiences, and if the situation allows, we may share them and deepen the connection. The feeling we get from this kind of a bond can be highly euphoric, akin to being in love.

It’s often the things that are in the shadow that give us the strongest emotional response. I think most of us are mirroring most of the time when we’re in contact with others, to some degree. When we feel enraptured by someone, especially if it’s something you can point out, usually it’s something that’s in ourselves responding, waiting to burst out into bloom. Similarly if something triggers or annoys us, chances are that the same thing exists in ourselves, but we’re refusing to acknowledge it.

There is the old saying that the eyes are the mirror of the soul, and it’s true. Eye gazing is a skill that can be trained, and it has to do with sensitivity to energies. Learning to quiet one’s mind is key. Sharing about one’s innermost feelings while looking each other in the eyes is one of the most intimate things to do.

I haven’t experienced it myself, but I’ve heard it from others that gazing into someone’s eyes, you may see their face or form change. I did this once with someone who told me that my hair changed pitch black and my hands turned into pure light. I think I have a block that’s stopping me from seeing things visually. Something to do with labelling people who do mentally ill, or terms like “hallucinations” or “seeing things that aren’t there”. Who’s to say that they aren’t? There’s so much that we’ve taught to suppress. I’m grateful for having people who get it, both here and in my local circle. :pink_heart:

Bravo! Nice way to approach it.

Sounds like it’ll be perfect! I just have a wall mirror and the bathroom mirror. I comb my hair, it does what it wants. I’m like Harry Potter that way! LOL! Although mine doesn’t stick up. But yeah, I’ve never been one for mirrors.

@georgia I knew that we had a real connection! I was called many names too and my mom told me everyday that I would grow up to be fat and ugly like my dad’s sisters maybe That’s why I am hesitant. I didn’t think I was actually naturally beautiful until a few years ago.

I’m sorry for what you went through I can only imagine. I can feel the pain from you! But!!! I can also feel that it has made you a much stronger woman and the Witch that you are today!

Thank you for being such a good friend to me, Georgia! I hope it’s okay to call you my friend! I have tears in my eyes! You have been so sweet to me and I’m just so thankful for you! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::hugs::beating_heart::heart_exclamation::double_exclamation_mark:

They reflect and send back enemies
My house is not seen by an evil eye
Not even an evil person dares to find a clear path."

Base with a light vibration for passage without attachment
Hyssop essential oil
Powerful gate cleanser, neutralizes unclean presences
Peppermint essential oil
Psychic acuity, protection from psychic entities
Lavender essential oil

Preparation (On a waning or new moon, night):
Form a circle with four mirrors facing outwards.
Inside the circle, light a smoky candle (gray, black or lead).
Mix the ingredients and hold the vial in your hand saying:

“My mirror, a gateway, but not a passage,
I seal you with light and I hold your gaze.
Whatever is to enter, let it pass in moderation —
what is to leave, will remain in the veil.”
Seal with your own pentacle, sigil, rune, etc.
Leave it under a mirror that you have worked with at least once for divination or a portal.

Usage:
Anoint the sides of the mirror and your third eye BEFORE any mirror work.
If you are doing image/dream penetration, anoint the temples and the back of the neck.
After working, unseal with lemon zest or frankincense smoke.
