Congrats again to the talented folks who joined in on last week’s Weekly Witchy Challenge- Creative Crafting

After putting talents to the test and creating wonderful things, it is time to look at another kind of treasure- a sparkly and well-loved tool for witches and healers around the world.

The theme for this week’s challenge is…

Using Crystals for Magick

From children’s rock collections to glorious tourist attractions, from the tools of crystal healers to the priceless royal jewels- stones have a vast array of purposes and are well-loved by many

For witches, crystals have an immense variety of uses and are a key element in magickal craft. There are as many uses for crystals as there are crystals out there- that is to say, one whole heck of a lot!

Each crystal has a unique set of properties and characteristics that align with different intentions and types of magick. Incorporating compatible stones in your spellwork is sure to give your casting a boost!

This challenge is about studying and applying the many uses of crystals in your unique magickal practice

STEP 1 : Working with Crystals

Here are a few ways you can incorporate crystals into your magickal practice:

Learn about a new crystal

For those new to crystals and not sure where to get started- the best place to begin is starting slow. Try to find one stone that appeals to you and learn a lot about it. Having a favorite go-to stone is a great foothold into the world of crystals!

Here are a few accessible and easy-to-work-with choices that are great for beginners:

Charge 'em up

Crystals can become tired with extended use- just like the witches that use them! Charging crystals under the moonlight is a wonderful way to reinvigorate them with energy and imbue them with the magickal properties of the current moon phase .

Cleanse your crystals

Some types of crystals absorb negative energy- keep you safe. But all the negative energy accumulates inside your crystals and can eventually be detrimental. To keep your precious stones in good shape, it is a good idea to cleanse them from time to time.

Use a crystal grid

Crystal grids are powerful tools for harnessing and direction the natural energy in crystals. Different grids use different stones to manifest various kinds of magick.

Make crystal jewelry

Whee! I’d order a new crystal by mail if I thought it would get here on time. As it is, I’m going to use what I have. This is gonna be fun!

Crystals are my favorite! I would take a picture but I just blessed 4 pieces of Malachite to place at the 4 corners of our property for protection.
“Malachite personifies the deep healing green of nature and represents the innate beauty of flowers, trees, roots and plants. It manifests a deep Devic green which rules the material plane. It is a Stone of Transformation”.Crystal Vaults I felt it would be a good choice in protecting our property. I modified a spell I found online at Plentiful Earth to suit my objective…
Protection of Property Spell Directions:
Spell Timing:
Waning Gibbous
Spell Ingredients:

• 4 pieces of malachite
• 4 green candles
• 4 candle holders
• Boline
• pen or pencil
• 1 piece of paper

1. Cleanse: Cleanse your sacred space with a sage bundle or palo santo.

2. Cast: cast a protective circle around your sacred space.

3. Prepare:

4. Use 4 pieces of cleansed and blessed Malachite.

5. Draw your property on the paper.Make sure to draw it as large as the paper. Draw your home within the boundaries of your property. Imagine as much detail as you care to note.

6. Place the candles at the 4 corners of your “property line”.

7. Chant: One by one, hold a piece of malachite at the corner of your property map and light one candle.
   Say:

   *Beacon of protection shine up to the sky
   Protect this beautiful house of mine
   I call down protection from all around
   To take root and protect us deep in the ground
   This stone planted in soil I sow
   Harmful visitors shall turn and go
   Forget the reason you came here
   I no longer live in fear.
   Nature protect nature from all harm
   Thank you for your embacing arms
   As I speak so mote it be
   Blessings on this property

*Repeat this for each stone and candle.

5. Visualize: Visualize a box of golden, protective light connecting each of the candles. Know and see that your home is safe.
6. Close the circle
7. Finish the spell: Let the candles burn out on their own. As they burn, dig a hole with your boline and bury each piece of malachite in the corresponding corner of the yard. Visualize a box of golden, protective light connecting each of your property’s corners. Know and see that your home is safe.

I have already shared my Pentagram Tile but I never showed both sides. It is surrounded by the stones associated with the twelve months of the year. and the reverse is a labyrinth. I did this to help draw the energy of the crystals into the tile.

The last is my favorite quartz crystal ball for meditation. I love it because as you turn it rainbows appear and there is a veil that divides the sphere into two halves. It just makes me think of the veil between life and death and there is an ‘angel’ right on the edge of the veil… its like a crystal snow globe… so fun to watch it change in the light.

My crystals need to be charged. Most of them have been cleansed with selenite already, but it’s been a while since I charged them. I like doing the meditations with the crystals. I think I am going to do the one for Black Tourmaline and Tiger’s Eye. I have a piece of each that I am really drawn to lately.

I did make up a depression sachet for my purse. it has some nice pieces of lepidolite, tiger’s eye, smoky quartz, and clear quartz. I really need to start wearing it on me somewhere. I haven’t really worn jewelry since last week. So while I’m cleaning my room today, I’ll see what I can do with my crystals.

Thank you, I will. This time around I know that I am healing and getting ready for the next chapter. I just want it to happen faster than it is right now. I feel like I am over this and have been and it’s time for a change. I also have the holidays coming up and it’s a hard time of year for me because my family is so far apart. I grew up with family around and people. Now it’s just us since my family moved to different parts of the country.

I will reach out if I need to though. I’m handling it all okay right now.

Thank you, depression is something I struggle with and this time I know what it’s from so I’m doing my best to not let it sink too far in. I have a feeling it’s from the waiting for the money to be put into my account, but I have a lot going on to keep me going. The depression pouch helps me during the day when I am out and about. I do alright when I am around my kids.

This is the perfect week for this challenge.

I think it was two weeks ago that I picked up more rose quartz, an amethyst, and a tiger’s eye. Last night I was told nuummite was the perfect crystal for me for December so I was waiting for a sale at my local shop to pick some up. Guess what? Today the shop had a 20% off sale! Thank you, universe.

While picking up nuummite, I also grabbed more obsidian, red goldstone, blue goldstone, and a couple clear quartz crystals. I had an idea that I wanted these ahead of time to help me avoid going in and buying out the whole store.

(The lotus flower is amlong crystal and the selenite I already owned. The bowl has more, tinier stones in it and a decently sized, heart-shaped rose quartz a friend bought me. Not pictured is my obsidian ball I use during therapy.)

I don’t have plans on using any in spells this week but I did use the rose quartz, amethyst, and tiger’s eye in spells on November 10th. I’ve kept the amethyst with me whenever I go out and I plan on doing the same with the nuummite in December.

I still need to learn more about the clear quartz and goldstones, but thankfully the shop has starter notes.
